A great place to have a drink with friends. It’s not a loud boisterous venue. I wish that they had finger food and sold small snacks or something that paired with the drinks. Maybe adding a night for wine lovers and have some fabulous cheese, crackers or chocolate. People would love to go to something like this, especially it being one of the last authentic Irish pubs in all of Cypress Hills.

I go to the city every couple months and I always go to Mike’s Pub when I do. Brian is a great bartender and even though I won’t be staying in Queens anymore when I go back I plan on taking the J train to Jamaica Avenue to go to Mike’s.

This was one of the most divey, local, neighborhood pub I’ve been to. I strolled in with one of my friends at around 4pm on a Monday and there were a handful of people sitting at the bar. There’s not much room in this place for many more people as there’s no additional seating. There’s a pool table in the back section of the bar. A couple of jukeboxes also lined the walls upon entering. There’s only Budweiser and Guinness on tap, so not too difficult of a choice there(I went with the Guinness). The bartender was a very nice and older Irish fellow. He said he lived right across the street and said he was from Belfast. Super nice guy! The Guinness was $ 5, and the place reminds me of an old basement with some sports memorabilia hung up. I could totally picture this belonging on That 70’s Show. Friendly, neighborhood dive bar it is! I think this is one of two bars in this part of Woodhaven, so options are pretty limited, but this ain’t a bad place to get your casual drink on.

This is the Only legitimate Irish Pub left in all of Woodhaven Queens. A friendly staff & regular customer crowd, with authentic Pub music on the juke box, darts, & pool table in the rear. Come in for a pint if you’re in the area, you won’t regret it!

You can count the amount of bars like this left in NYC on two hands. And you probably won’t run out of fingers either. As another reviewer euphemistically notes, Mike’s is ‘a bit rough around the edges’. A man in a Jets wifebeater stood up, flexed his arm muscles and then offered my wife his stool after we ordered beers($ 3 I think). Mainly Irish(the kind that haven’t been home in 10 years) /Irish American patrons apart from one Middle Eastern guy in a suit. This is a no messing, no frills, serious drinking establishment. A handful of TVs showing the horses and/or Mets and/or Jets. Can’t see Woodhaven rapidly gentrifying anytime in the next couple of decades, so Mike’s is probably there to stay.

This is one of the last of a dying breed. An old fashioned, unpretentious working-man’s bar. Great place to watch a game and tilt a couple back. Place is huge. I hope they never ever ever succumb to the urge to neaten it up or modernize it. It’s perfect just the way it is. I hope the yuppies and the hipsters never discover this place.

Its a bit rough around the edges… to say the least, but its one of the last old school no bulls*** bars around.

Quaint little Irish bar that’s great to stop by if you are in the area, as it is full of characters with interesting stories. Good olé Irish locals. I met a guy who knew Bette Midler, another telling a story of acquiring Bob Shepherd’s autograph. You may hear the horn of the elevated subway train passing by at certain times, for there is that one conductor who knows the place, and honks whenever he passes. Get a pint of Guiness for ~$ 4.50, self-proclaimed to be the best pint anywhere according to the bartender. There are some arcade games, and in the separate back room, you can go play a game of pool on a majestic table. The bar puts Jeopardy on the TV at 7pm. If you ask them to put any sport game on, they’ll put it on if they can get it. After a late night game, they may turn it to Seinfeld to cap off the night. Really friendly bartenders to fit right in with the locals, and don’t be surprised if one person occasionally buys the entire bar a drink.

I was here today around 3 o’clock after working out. I had never noticed this place was there until today so I thought what better time than the present to check it out. I came in and there were about 4 people at the bar. I like the atmosphere of the pool table and the dart board, not to mention the video game machines. The Amstel Light was $ 4 and so was the screwdriver with Smirnoff. The bartender said it was ½ price leading me to believe the screwdriver would have been $ 8 if it wasn’t happy hour. I am not sure exactly the hours of happy hour since I didn’t ask.
