We’ve had a groupon for this b&b for awhile. I had some health problems and had to postpone a couple of time. We just came back after spending one night there. We received a message from Nancy asking where were we the day before we had booked to stay. She did not apologize for the rude voice mail. My husband and I enjoyed the cooking class and the meal. Nancy didn’t sit with us but stayed in the kitchen. I don’t find Nancy to be very hospitable. I’ve stayed in many B & B’s, I wouldn’t recommend this one. I have sciatica and after a very bad night on the hard mattress, we decided to go home. My husband went to let Nancy know we were leaving. I overheard their conversation, after he left I heard her laugh. She is a pretentious, rude and uncaring person.

I received a Groupon for the french cooking class they offer here but in September. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get them to stick to a date for the class for two months now. It says that they offer these classes twice a week, in reality most of the classes they list on the website aren’t available because they don’t have the attendance to actually have them. I’ve gone through the process of calling and inquiring about classes only to be told they aren’t holding them countless times and it’s very frustrating. I work full time so I would be excited to actually be off on one of the dates they listed only to be disappointed to hear that they aren’t having that class at all. On two occasions I actually booked the classes only to have them canceled on me shortly before it was supposed to happen. One of those times Nancy notified me beforehand which was nice, the other time she said she emailed me but she really didn’t and I have my email records to prove that. After that second time she canceled the class on me she told me that she would just call me when there was a class that was available and she never did. After waiting a few weeks to get a call from them I finally messaged her on Facebook to get a class booked, I purposed four dates I could go to this month and she told me she would look into it and contact me later that day, that was over a week ago and she’s never contacted me. This whole process has just been a disaster. I don’t understand how they are able to sell their classes through Groupon and then just completely not be able to deliver and what they sold. She seemed nice on the phone I guess but that only goes so far. Thankfully I was able to get my money back through Groupon so all I wasted here was a lot of time trying to get into this class.

In reading previously written reviews, I see no recent ones. I attended a French cooking class without staying the night. I was very disappointed as I felt the $ 150 was way to pricey for a chicken dinner. We were expected to bring a bottle of wine to share which was fine but when two friends brought one bottle of wine, they were instructed to go to a local winery to buy another. I have attended many cooking classes where there was instructional“hands on” but at Auberge, I felt as if I was cooking my own dinner in someone else’s kitchen. I must say, however, the people who attended, were delightful. Lastly, a small appetizer would have gone a long way, as dinner was served almost 3 hours after our arrival.

we stayed on the Groupon coupon as well. The room was lovely. We ordered the gourmet breakfast for $ 30 each. Here’s what we got — 1 belgian waffle with whipped cream and strawberries, 2 eggs, oven roasted potatoes, 3 slices bacon, fresh oj. For $ 30 each. And we didn’t get to say how we wanted our eggs done — they appeared to be just barely poached, the whites weren’t all cooked. It all tasted fine, but for that price, I expected something special, not what we make at home every Sunday AM. Plus she told us the day before that it took several hours for her to make the breakfast — not sure where all that effort was expended. ANYWAYS…In retrospect, I would have skipped this so-called ‘gourmet’ breakfast, you can basically get the same thing at Denny’s(the Grand Slam) for $ 10 and you’ll get to pick how your eggs are cooked. If I had known ahead of time what we were getting, I certainly would have passed and spent our $ 60 on something that felt worth $ 60. Another odd thing happened, related to my facial(my husband had the massage that was included in the Groupon). I asked for an extra service(extractions), and the aesthetician told me ‘I have a portable steamer in my car, I’ll go get it, but it would be an extra charge’, so I said fine. When it was all over, I asked her how much I owed and she said ‘whatever’. So I wrote a check for $ 25(I didn’t know how much the facial itself cost, but the extractions took 5 minutes and was kind of a bust anyways because she couldn’t get the steamer near enuf to my face and it ran out of water). I asked her if that amount was OK and she said it was fine. The next morning Nancy said she needed to talk to me about the extra service, that I had only given the aesthetician $ 20(even tho I gave her $ 25) and that just covered the tip. So I needed to pay her(Nancy) $ 27 more dollars because the aesthician had charged her more. So now this is feeling a little weird — 1. Nancy is telling me that I must pay a tip and that it must be $ 20, even tho she has no idea of the quality of service I was provided, which was just a mini-facial compared to others I’ve had 2. Now I am being told the extractions cost $ 27 — why didn’t the aesthetician tell me that when I asked? Of course I would tip the aesthetician, but this whole biz of hearing one thing from her and another from Nancy was uncomforable, because I was being forced to pay more money when I thought had already settled up with the aesthetician. )art 2 — thanks Nancy for responding to my comments! In response to your questions about why did I ask for extra services if the facial was so bad — I didn’t say it was bad, it was just short. Maybe you assumed that my facial started the moment the aesthetician entered the room, but in fact it took her 15 minutes to get set up because she was having trouble with her table and had to get everything set up. And GEE, I asked for the extractions BEFORE the facial began. I would think it was up to the aesthetician to tell me that I hadn’t paid enuf when I specifically asked — otherwise, I would have expected her to tell me differently when we spoke about the extra charge, that it would be up to Auberge to bill me for that service. Or that you both would have come back to me right after the facial to discuss the extra costs if I hadn’t paid enuf, vs waiting until the next morning. That is what caught me off guard — it seemed like an afterthougt, to charge me even more. Still holding to my comments on breakfast, not good value for the $$$$. Didn’t see the ‘gourmet’ part on our plates, I guess we have a different idea of what that means. Just because it is a recipe from the World’s Fair doesn’t make it gourmet. My bad for not looking on the website to see what was provided, we went on the documentation in the room. So future guests — be sure to do your internet research first!!! Part 3. In the end, Nancy ended up charging me even more for the extra facial service than what she told me she was going to charge.

My fiancé and I had a GroupOn for the honeymoon suite. The house itself is gorgeous. There are grape vines growing outside the front door, tomatoes growing outside our room, which has glass double doors leading to a patio with a view of the garden. The honeymoon suite is luxurious with french cookbooks that I poured over, candles, fireplace, jet tub and all the amenities I could ask for. The food was phenomenal, with dessert of a Pear Tart(not necessarily with a crust, more like a Clafoutis). For breakfast we had fresh walnut cina-bons that possibly had a hint of orange in them, and raspberry sweet cakes. Soft, flavorful, not-to-sweet. We heated them up in the microwave, spectacular! And, on top of that there was Chobani yogurt, granola, juice and milk in our fridge. How I wish I was able to take advantage of it all! All of the food that Nancy made was fresh. My fiancé also loved the massage, and we really liked Nancy. I would highly recommend this place if you are interested in going to Woodinville and doing some wine tastings. It is far enough way, but fabulously close.

I went to a lunch and garden tour offered through groupon and took three friends with me, prepared to expect an elegant meal since it was normally offered for $ 84 per person. When have I ever paid that much for a lunch? Not even for my birthday dinner at the Eiffel Tower. We were sadly disappointed. Although the food itself was delicious and well prepared, the menu was a bit odd as we had quiche for lhe main course and a torte for dessert – surprising a cooking school would have two crusted menu items at the same meal. Another disappointment was that the host failed to really wait on us or engage us on a personal basis, unusual with a group of 6 being served in your home. I even had to get up from the table to get a refill on our water, which was the only beverage served, as we were told tea and coffee would have cost more to include with the service. I’ve been to wonderful restaurants the world over and have served high teas in my own home with much more fuss and flair at a fourth of the cost.

My husband and I received a getaway package which included an overnight stay and a cooking class. Who would have thought an overnight stay less than half an hour away from home could be so relaxing? Our suite came with a jetted bathtub(candles are provided too!), shower for two and a lovely king sized bed. Wireless internet is provided, but there are no TV’s, so bring a bottle of wine or champagne and some card games to further enjoy your romantic evening together. The garden area is great to walk around, we saw all kinds of birds and rabbits. Breakfast is served the next morning whatever time you request. Prepare to eat a lot! Everything was homemade and delicious, from the waffles to the mimosas. We had a leisurely morning before our cooking class. Nancy recommends bringing two bottles of wine per person. This number includes sharing with the other cooking students, the chef and Nancy over your six hour class. We had to drive home that evening, and we didn’t overdo it — just know your limit or better yet — just stay another night! Don’t worry about bringing some expensive bottles or anything, just bring something that pairs well with what you’re cooking that day. The cooking class was a blast! Chef George was patient and informative and took the time to even teach chopping techniques. Our particular class involved crabs, so we learned to prepare these recipes starting from the whole crab. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and take notes while you’re cooking. You will not leave this class hungry! I only wish we could have stayed the night following our class, but alas, the class was on a Sunday and we needed to be at work on Monday. I’d recommend a stay here both to local folks and people from out of town. We’ll be back for another romantic, fun and delicious weekend!
