We are so sad to hear that the Tot Spot will be closing. My boys and I will really miss it. We’ve had many fun playdates and birthday parties at the Tot Spot and are sad to see it go.

Great place for a rainy day with a toddler. Kind of in an odd location, looks like a buisness park. But there is good parking and the concept of the place is great. It’s a fun spot to get a coffee and watch the kids play. I like that they have real kid sized foods. Every thing seems clean and friendly. I love the little shop with cloth diapers and other natural mama stuff. Love it!

I just have to say how awesome Tot Spot is and how much I love meeting other parents and watching our children play in a well contained, cheerful and safe environment. The staff is wonderful and I am so happy to have Katlin back! I was the other customer that ran across the room and asked the mom not to change her diaper right in the middle of the eating table when there was a changing table less than 3 feet from her. Kat was so gracious to the woman and so supportive of my right to speak up when someone was doing something that was clearly going to have a negative affect on everyone.(I eat at that table for the love of God! I don’t come into your kitchen and change my baby where you eat. Do you know how many pathogyns are in poo? Oh my God it still makes me gag thinking about it) The staff handled the situation so well and I was SOOOOO glad to see Kat bleach the table when they left. The staff really handled it beautifully. They rock!

I took my daughter here even though I live in Seattle because we have a close friend who also has a 18mos. old in Woodinville. I loved the idea, someone plays with your kid and a bunch of toys while I sip my mocha and talk to my friend! I was excited. The toy area is pretty good, although there are too many toys! I think a lot of toys need to be gotten rid of as they seemed dirty or broken, One thing I didn’t like was paying the $ 6/hour to have the attendant play with the kids. I think the attendant maybe spent 5 minutes in the play area the whole time I was there. It got busy and he left to go help customers. I ended up watching my kid the whole time which I’m fine with but I don’t want to have to pay to watch my own child. A big plus was the bouncy house, my daughter loved that and it’s small enough that it wasn’t scary to her at all. She also liked the toy train although I wish it worked so I didn’t have to push it. These things are on the outside of the playroom and so they are free. The couches were also kinda gross and old. The set up of bar tables around the perimiter of the play area is great but my toddler wouldn’t play unless she could see me so we sat on the inside. That was actually nice, they played nearby and my friend and I enjoyed our coffees. So overall, I don’t think I’d come again willing to pay. I might come and just have my kid play on the outside for a bit but it’s too expensive to make a regular thing. I think they should up their staff so someone is ALWAYS in the play area and then I’d be fine with paying. Oh, the coffee was good! And the barista was very nice so that was a plus.

Tot spot is an awesome place to take the kids for a little mental break! I can’t recommend this place enough! The chicken Fajitas are great as well :)

I would give tot spot 3.5. The staff changes have been wonderful except for the loss of an employee named Mikayla the girl I nanny was really attached to her. The employees always seem willing to sit down and play with the kids when you are super busy. Which is great! On rainy days it is always slammed so food takes awhile but, they do great toddler plates. It is a great place to stop by if you are in between activities, or you are a mother who works from home or is a student. If you have a younger kid I wouldn’t recommend going there when the older kids are out of school because they typically run around knocking the little kids over.

I am a frequent flyer when it comes to Tot Spot. They have changed a few things over the last few months that have made the experiences so much better. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive, and seem to actually enjoy seeing my kiddos. I love the coffee they serve, and the menu is great for a little café. Ask about the specials! This is a café, with a space for your kids to play. Just like any restaurant, your children are your responsibility to watch. Tot Spot is pretty good about having a helper mom, or a staff member in the play area, to keep the peace. They are also constantly cleaning! Picking up toys and busing tables. Other mothers have complained about the mess. Imagine having 30 toddlers come through your living room in just a few hour period. Tot spot does VERYWELL at keeping up with the kids! If you are someone who wrote a negative review months ago, I advise you to give Tot Spot another shot. This place is on the up hill climb and I don’t know how they could improve much more! I ‘heart’ Tot Spot!

I love places that give my 11 month old daughter freedom to wander around and stay mostly safe(although I always kept a close eye on her). It was SUPER crowded when we arrived(noon on a Friday), but it cleared out within about 45 minutes. Plenty of toys appropriate from crawler +, and as clean as you can expect for the number of kids in and out of there. It’s a great idea for an indoor play place. It’s cheap with only one kid. My daughter enjoyed this as much, if not more, than Kidsqwest in Factoria, and adults are free here. Bathrooms are stocked with diapers, wipes, diaper pails, changing table, antibacterial wipes, etc. That was a nice unexpected bonus. It would be five stars if the food was warm(cold chicken nuggets), and served within a reasonable amount of time(took 45 mins for a microwave pizza). But, I really didn’t go there for the food and it was cheap anyway. So all in all, a good deal and a good value. We will be going back!

I love Tot Spot! I have been coming here since a month after they opened. When we started coming my kids were 15months and 3 years old. They have loved it. Now at ages 4 and 6.5 years they still love coming. My girls play hard and the staff have always been friendly and over accommodating. Are the toys well loved? yes Is Cheerios on the floor? sometimes… come on peeps you know how fast kids drop stuff. Bathrooms clean? Always Food? Great! Coffee? Awesome! now that I have a 3rd baby I am excited to know that I will have a safe clean place to take him to play. Kat Thanks for creating a spot for our family to play. Dee Brown

My friends, and even my husband, have been bugging me to try this place out for a good year. Finally went yesterday for a birthday party. I wasn’t impressed at all. Pro’s: — great concept — colorful — peanut allergy friendly Con’s — expensive when you consider the cost of play and food. I’d rather go to one of the coffee shops where you can have FREE play– especially when there isn’t the attendant on duty. — dirty and cluttered– lots of tables need bussing — very crowded– both in terms of «stuff» and people.(We were there Saturday morning.)

Another great indoor play place for toddlers. I’d give it 5 stars if it weren’t such a drive for me. The set-up at Tot Spot is really nice in that you have a good vantage point from just about anywhere in the room to keep an eye on your toddler(s). The free Wifi is awesome! On this particular visit, I didn’t eat anything so I can review the food but from what I saw on the menu and what folks were eating, things look good and the prices are reasonable for the convenience of this place.

This place is amazing, especially for birthday parties. I scheduled a last minute birthday here when my back-to-nature park party for my 4 yr old was about to get rained out per the weather report. They were pretty booked already so we had a bagels and fruit birthday party in the early morning. The owner was amazing, she suggested places for me to buy the food, personally helped with the set-up and was so friendly and helpful every step of the way. At the end of the party, one of my friends liked it so much and was so impressed with the service she said«I think I’ll have my son’s party here». It was a really enjoyable and memorable party for all of us.

As a mother of a diva of a toddler, i am always on the hunt for new experiences that encourage her growth and quite frankly offer me a break from the stress of picking up every toy that falls on my newly installed hardwood floors! Tot Spot looked ideal on paper, however i was gravely disappointed in the experience. the set up of the café is probably the highlight. i could watch my darling diva run amok from a safe and stress-free distance while still maintaining a bird’s eye view. The idea of a café of this sort is innovative in the world of kid offerings, it offers a laid back experience without the corporate feel of some children’s museums. The furnishings felt homely with family style dinner tables and bar-height chairs pressed up against counters that border the playspace. Unfortunately the toys were strewn all over the playspace even before we arrived. The owner was in the building and paid little attention to the fact that play dresses and teddy bears lay astray in the middle of a slide. the food consisted of mac and cheese bought at Costco and brought straight from the microwave to your table. The vegetables seemed freshly opened from a Del Monte can. At the end f the day I found myself cleaning up just for the sake of it, which was what i was trying to take a break from in the first place. A for effort but C– for execution. With some major maintenance and menu revamp, Tot Spot still has a shot at being THESPOT for playtime.

I so wish I could love this place. I’ve gone now 5 times. Each time I go, I try to keep a very open mind, try to wipe my horrible memory of the last time, and give my daughter the opportunity I think the owner of this place wants kids to have — a chance to have fun in a safe, clean, and supervised(by PARENTS) place. But each time I go — its SUCH a letdown. 1) The place is dirty. I don’t care what everyone says about kids places — this is plain old dirty. Like previous reviewers, I arrived right at opening and the place looked like it hadn’t ever been swept, the floors were dirty, the bathroom had not been cleaned from the previous day’s events, toys were blocking walking paths in and out of the play area with food on them. 2) Toys are old, 2nd hand, most are broken or missing pieces, dress up clothes are torn/stained/have bodily fluids on them. 3) more often than not, when we’ve gone there have been toys that are CLEARLYCLEARLY intended for older children(today it was massive shooting foam darts that, when they hit, are not soft and gentle to an adult much less to a TODDLER to say the least) and are a hazard for the target demographic of children who are supposed to be playing here. 4) The staff(minus the owner) wear pajamas, are curt and even border on being rude. They don’t make eye contact, they are very abrupt and not courteous at all. The only time you’re going to get a smile out of them is when you«Check out» only as I suspect they want a tip. One of the staff members always looks like she just rolled out of bed(nearly always the same staff there) and is always pulling up her pajama pants and has her butt crack showing. 5) There are children who are MUCHMUCHMUCH too old allowed to play in the play area along with the TODDLERS(I emphasize this only because it is «TOT» spot not«KID» spot). Today it was two 5-ish year old boys who were literally climbing the walls(entering the play area OVER the walls and not through the doors), piling huge objects over small children, shooting foam darts at eachother and hitting the younger kids, smacking balls super agressively at younger kids and I watched this happen in front of a staff member she scolded the HURT child and said that the older kid didn’t intend to hurt him so he ought to just«calm down or walk away right now». 6) It has been made very clear by certain times of the day that there’s an «in» club that are allowed to not supervise their children(read: the regulars). There’s also a group of women who sell things at this location(the whole place is full of overpriced retail objects — anything you can see, you can buy for a small fortune). Certain children are not required to behave well at all and the parents even go as far as to leave the room(go to their car, leave their children unattended, etc) and this is allowed which I am about certain the Tot Spot’s insurance doesn’t cover injury of unattended children. 7) The«fresh» food(which is GROSSLYLIMITED to grapes) are always mushy and old. Everything else is boxed and canned crap you buy at Costco prepared in a microwave. They even say«they’re the chicken nuggets from Costco» when you ask. We’ve gotten old milk from them, which they replaced but stil — GROSS! I could go on and on.

I’d love to give this place higher stars, but it just isn’t happening. It’s SODIRTY. By far the dirtiest public kid place I’ve seen. I’ve been three times, each time hoping that the prior time I came was a fluke, but no. The last time we went was near their opening time, a time which I expected things to be the most clean. When we arrived, the place was a wreck, although the lady at the register said they had only had a couple kids so far that morning. It was clear they had not cleaned the place at all the night before. And when I say clean, I’m talking basic cleanliness. The floor is disgusting, the toys are dirty, the furniture is nasty. The table in the sitting area had a .5 inch thick layer of dust on the bottom shelf. It’s also extremely cluttered, even outside of the toy area. There is random junk sitting on random pieces of furniture, nothing is organized or presented well. It’s just gross in there. The staff is less than helpful, talking with each other instead of cleaning up the kitchen or the cups/plates on the tables. I wouldn’t eat anything coming out of that kitchen, you can just walk by and see how gross it is. And I can only imagine if the areas that you see are that gross, well, how gross are the places that the public can’t see? Ew. I won’t be back.

I’ve visited Tot Spot Café many times, first with just my son when he was a toddler, and most recently with both my kids, 4.5 and 2.5. I love it each time I go there because I get to relax and flip through a magazine knowing my kids are in a safe place, playing with tons of toys right in front of me. There’s a strict«no green boogers» policy there, which I *really* appreciate — they’ll send kids who appear to be sick home, which I find very reassuring. The food is very kid-oriented but there’s also a good-sized menu for grown-ups, too. I highly recommend this place!

I’ve taken my daughter here a few times and she enjoys it. It’s nice to be able to sit with a drink and chat while she plays. I do not like how cluttered it can be and I have come across toys that were obviously not clean. There is a hard coffee table with pointed edges right in the middle of the play area. With toys cluttered all around that is an obvious safety hazard. I’m also not sure how clean the furniture is. Last time I was there a little boy threw up on the couch and it was simply wiped up with paper towels. It was right before closing, so maybe they did more after everyone left. Speaking of the boy getting sick, I’m not sure if they have a sick kid policy, but if they do then it is not enforced. After the boy threw up the mother said he had thrown up in the car on the way there and that he had a fever. The mother had been holding the boy the whole time while her other child played. I thought the boy was just sleepy and I would have left if I knew he was sick. The staff knew that the child was sick and did not say anything to the mother about not bringing sick kids. Being able to have a drink and snack and chat with other adults while your kids play is a great idea, but Tot Spot needs to make some improvements so that the play area is safe and sanitary.

I love the concept of this place. Kids get a play area with lots and lots of toys, riding toys, dress up clothes, balls, etc. and adults get to sit down on couches and watch their kid play. What I don’t like is what I saw today… mom with headphones on, concentrating on her work(outside of the play area) while her(2 year old or so) son played. I had no idea this boy didn’t have supervision until after he pushed my little 17 month old girl out of the way to get to something. This is one of my pet peeves… adult not acting like an adult. This is not Tot Spot Café’s fault though. It would be nice though, since it is their company & space to enforce parent supervision. Aside from that incident… the play area seems a bit cluttered but the kids definitely loved it. I wonder how often Tot Spot sanitizes their toys though?! We let the kids play for an hour and then ordered some lunch. It’s great that this place offers both an adult menu and kid menu. I had the grilled cheese with pesto. It was okay. It was a very small and flat sandwich on sourdough bread served with a bag of Sun Chips. Didn’t taste pesto-ish at all. My daughter had the kids grilled cheese, also on sourdough bread. I’m surprised that this place doesn’t use whole wheat bread. Oh well… Our meals plus the one hour play came out to about $ 18 including tip. Not bad… I like that the restrooms have changing tables supplied with liners to set on the table before you set your child on there. The restrooms were clean and well-stocked. The employees were friendly to both adults and kids… important if they’re working in a kids place! :) One of the employees even had her daughter with her and was in the play area with all the other kids and adults. You are also not allowed to bring in any of your own food or drink but I saw some people feeding their kids oranges or some other snacks from their bag. That rule isn’t enforced very well.

Imagine an explosion in a toy chest mixed with dirt, indifferent gossipy staff and sub-par food, and you have the Tot Spot Café. The staff seem to be too busy gossiping with each other to bother with cleaning up the dirty cups and dishes that litter the various tables. The couches are filthy and while I appreciate the ample supply of hand sanitizer dotted around the place, I felt the need to use it every few minutes. The toys are in a rather sorry state with a ride-on electric train unable to move«because the batteries are running down.» Note to owner: get a second set and keep one charging while the other is in use. The kids seemed to like it though.

I just took my nearly 16 month old to Top Spot for the first time and we’ll definitely be back! While the toys have definitely been very«loved» they are clean and there are LOTS of them. My little monkey isn’t walking yet but is a power cruiser and he had a wonderful time exploring. I really enjoyed being able to sit down and relax with a girlfriend for a bit while the kiddos were checking out all the toys they don’t have at home. The coffee was fantastic, the setup very comfortable and the food is reasonably priced. I really appreciate the great visability and that there is handsanitizer and wipes everywhere. The only negative, and it’s a real minor one, is that you can’t bring any food or drinks into the location due to peanut allergy sensitivity. I completely understand needing to watch out for other kids safety but it’s frustrating to have to buy goldfish from Tot Spot when I usually keep them in my diaper bag.
