Bristlecone Lodge

This is nothing like we expected from reading the description from the website. I wish I would have read the pervious review before booking this location.
1. If your looking for a camping experience this is not it! This is basically a motel with a camping theme. Nothing to do off the campsite and you are RIGHT NEXT to a very busy hwy. terrible!
2. The room was clean and neat, but much smaller then appears in the photos on the website. TV was smaller then a computer screen.
3. They offer a kitchenette in the cabins that accept dogs and they say on the website. «Restaurants in walking distance» yeah if you want to walk ½ mile to get to a gas station for dinner. The breakfast is a joke. Nothing but cold cereal and yogurt and make your own waffle.
I’m sad to say we left early and no call from the owners to ask why we didn’t enjoy our stay. We would’ve rather been home then stay in that place with kids and nothing to do. What a waste of money.

This wasn’t exactly what we expected, because it was basically right off a busy road and it was a duplex-​style cabin. The cabin itself was quaint and cute, but the TVs and furniture arrangement was not conducive to relaxing in there at all. The best part of the experience was that there was a huge hot tub that we got to use (which is open to all guests), despite every hour a mother and children were in there… annoying. The caretaker was super creepy too and the morning breakfast served in the main cabin is awkward as you sit at one family sized dinner table with everyone else… kinda weird. But, overall it was a fun time.
It was also a little uncomfortable because there is a RV park right behind the cabins and literally every window in the cabin, if open, you could see them and vice versa. Just not exactly a «in the woods» experience staying here, but it was fun none the less.
