Timber Windows

If someone tries to get you to sign up for a «free estimate» from this company just beware of the following: They use the sales tactic of «if you don’t sign a contract today, I can’t give you a 15% discount». While the salesman was long on explanations of the various products on the market (which was somewhat helpful) he was very short on SPECIFIC information about the product he had quoted me on. Didn’t even plan to name the brand of the proposed windows in the contract. Finally got him to put the name of the brand of window he was proposing, but he had not a single piece of information to leave with me about the brand, or the specifications of the product. Come to find out none of the samples of vinyl window frames were from the manufacturer of the brand he was proposing! He had «inferior» samples of brands he wouldn’t recommend, but none of what he was recommending… Not a good sign.
I decided to pass on this company and every other company that tries to persuade me to buy their product by offering a discount that is ONLY GOOD TODAY! There’s no legitimate business reason why he couldn’t have left the contract with me and all the details and told me if I decided to buy within the next _​_​_​days/​weeks to sign it and send the down payment to them to start the process. Install date wasn’t even possible at the time he wanted me to sign the contract so I know they weren’t in my neighborhood with a truck filled with windows the exact size I needed and had to get an answer from me before they moved on down the road…
I know that time is money and closing the deal is ultimately his sole purpose for being in my home, but this isn’t the way to do it.
