Even after moving to NYC, I fly back once a year to see Dr. Patel because she is that wonderful. No other doctor I’ve gone to has compared. She explains everything clearly without being patronizing. When I had an abnormal test which indicated pre-​cancer, she made me feel like things were going to be ok, and they were.

I was referred here through Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. I thank them for such a great referral. My own personal search for decent women’s health care was nil. My last gynecologist did nothing but say that I needed birth control. That birth control pills will solve all of my problems. Well, they didn’t.
My doctor, Dr. Patel was wonderful. She was compassionate, informative, and looked high and low (mostly low) to see what my problem could be. After numerous tests, I found out that I had some serious fibroid problems, but she wasn’t sure that was what caused my problems. So, for the biopsy we went. Well, that’s where my problem lies. It’s never fun to learn you have cancer, but for some reason, it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Dr. Patel (and her gracious and equally wonderful and caring staff,) was informative and helpful with the diagnosis, and referred me to a wonderful oncologist. Yeah, it was shitty to find out, but the human touch and feeling made it all the easier to cope with.
