I should start by saying we had so many people come up to us and compliment us on the music at our wedding(I wish I could take credit for how great it was). We met Mark and Pat at the Cantigny bridal show and were really impressed form the get go. Their experience, personalities, and professionalism made them an easy choice. As we got closer to the big day, my fiancé and I were struggling(we were planning from out of state), but mark and pat were extraordinarily accommodating in keeping us on track. At the wedding, they made sure everything went without a hitch, from the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception. They are like a super team. Pat made sure we were ready throughout the night, never rushing us but not letting us miss a big moment or get caught off guard. We had family members that had special requirements(sensitivity to sound) and Mark somehow accommodated them and kept the music at a perfect from start to finish. I can’t say how much that meant to me. We had a beautiful night and didn’t have to worry because we knew had these two at the helm.

I wish I could give Mark and Pat better reviews, they are great people, but the DJ and the service/music they provided was the worst part of my wedding day. Mark showed up at the last minute to the ceremony venue and played the wrong music for the bridal party walking down the aisle(pretty clearly wrong when its supposed to be instrumental and the song had lyrics). Pat prounonced at least 3 of the bridal party names wrong during the entrance, one of which being the same last name as the bride and groom. Most importantly, the music at the reception was so disappointing I found dancing on my wedding day to be an obligation rather than enjoyable. My husband and I had given Mark and Pat a very detailed list of music we wanted played which included many requests from our guests collected over the past year of planning. Realizing the whole list would not fit in 3 hours, we figured our list would be the first choice for music. Boy were we wrong! Outside of a couple songs, that list was completely scrapped and Mark and Pat picked all the music and let our guests come up and request on the spot… the fact a song from the Disney movie«Aladin» was played at my wedding still infuriates me. If I new it was going to be a 3 hour guest request line, I would have been MUCH more detailed with the do not play list. But then again, they would probably just scrap that too. If you want to be totally hands off and let someone else pick all your music on your wedding day, SCE is perfect for you. If you want any sort of say in your music selection, go elsewhere.

Mark and Pat(Soundcheck) were amazing. When planning our wedding, the DJ was our first stop — just as a starting out point in checking out vendors. We expected a brief meeting — after getting to know each other and spending some time, by the time my(now) husband and I got to the car, we were both set on them! No need to meet anyone else. We had our wedding about a week and a half ago and everything went off without a hitch. They even made sure we were ready for every step along the way, and making sure people were where they needed to be before announcing. No need for a wedding planner! Would highly recommend to anyone, for a wedding or any other event.

In planning an event there is always the issue ~ DJ vs live band. Each has benefits and it is a personal choice. Personally, this DJ made the event. They spend as much time as needed for planning, arrive early to set up, provide professional lighting, clear sound system, an extensive song library, packages, and even back-up equipment and entertainment. Did they miss anything? I like they way they can«read» the crowd and play appropriate music. They take requests and will even honor a «do NOT play» list. Get up off of your seat, shake it for all it’s worth, sing along, tap your feet, let it all hang out and have a good time.
