Coffee was smooth and Cuban Panini was fabulous. Quite place with a friendly hostess.

Really cute place but $ 5.44 for a latte is steep. In fact the most I’ve ever payed for a latte including all the hot spots in Manhattan. . One note for those espresso aficionados out there: That was the best tasting espresso shot I’ve had coming out of a non La Marzocco machine. They use a Rancilio.

This is a lovely and undiscovered place. It’s small and quite and the drinks are fabulous. The owner is super nice and I can’t wait to go come back here and chill. I need to try the wine.

Weak selection of snacks on a midweek midday visit, which is a shame for those commuting nearby.

Just visited. Perfect! Super friendly and had no problem adding and/or substituting ingredients in my delicious spinach smoothie. Will definitely frequent. Thanks.

Place is awesome. Exposed brick, a little seating area with a large screen you can watch the news in the morning. Great selection of drinks(even beer!), WIFI, also, really good pastries. Love the décor! People working here are also very friendly and genuinely happy! And, bathroom was IMMACULATE! Never seen a coffee shop bathroom like it! Great neighborhood coffee!

What a cute shop! Dad and I were in the neighborhood and were in the need of some java so we decided to pop in for a bit. It’s a very small place with limited seating but it’s so charming. I love the décor; the exposed brick wall, the cute signage and a bit of the industrial look you’re used to seeing in Brooklyn. And I love their light fixtures! We walked in and were greeted by two friendly ladies behind the counter. Ordered two coffees and had a seat in the communal(?) seating area in the back. The coffee was pretty good. I’m in the middle of transitioning to drinking black coffee, so I’m finding that my taste buds are more heightened what with no milk to hide the quality of the brew. No complaints. Dad did say his was kinda lukewarm, so maybe too much milk was added? Or the coffee isn’t hot enough? Drinking it black, I found the temperature to be fine. It looks like they have beer and wine also and they do serve some food(as well as some pastry). I’m not in the neighborhood very often, but if I were, it looks like a pretty chill spot to come with a girl friend and drink wine and chat. Move over, Dunkin’ Donuts, you’ve been replaced!

Had my dad staying with us and wanted to grab some breakfast and tea with him. Heard great things about Blue Cups, so come Noon we decided to venture out in the cold and walk there. They were closed. No reason. No signs. Unilocal,Google, Online says OPEN, door said 7am-9pm Saturday… obviously not.

Such a cute little coffee shop! I am very happy to finally have a place like this within walking distance from my home.(Goodbye, dunkin donuts, I’m not going to miss your questionable coffee and poor customer service!). The drinks at Blue Cups are amazing quality and the staff is super nice and helpful! Now that they serve wine and beer, I will make sure to come in for a glass or two. And they also serve food which I will definitely try one day.

looking for a nice quaint coffee shop in the Jackson Heights area? look no further than the blue cups café! I was introduced to this place by a friend who lives in the neighborhood & was happy that we decided to stop inside. Since blue cups was conveniently located with in walking distance to the woodside train stop, me and the misses stopped by to grab an ice coffee, get a quick jolt & help quench our thirst. The attendant inside was very nice and served up our ice coffees in a quick jiffy. Afterwards we even chatted up a conversation about the neighborhood and their business which added to the local neighborhood vibe of this shop. Oh and they even had soy milk options & free wifi for their patrons which is an added plus! I love the fact that they have a frequent visitor card there which can be used towards free coffee after the 10th purchase. They even serve hot sandwiches which is a nice option in case you get hungry and need some food on the go. Before your daily commute or even if you want some good brew, be sure to stop by and pick up a cup of java. It will help start your day right!

Great little place indeed. I’ve been meaning to check it out for a while, based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and am happy to say it lives up to them. The iced coffee has great flavor, and while one employee mixed it up, the other one and I chatted a bit. I’ll definitely be back.

Expert baristas and excellent customer service. We have only tried their lattes and mochas – which are delicious. I especially love that they don’t make hot lattes scorching hot. I can actually drink it when I get it. On top of that, the owner is super friendly and cares about his customers’ experience. The true definition of a neighborhood coffee shop!

Living on the same street, I’ve walked by this shop quite a few times but never thought to stop in until yesterday. Boy, I didn’t know what I was missing! The neighborhood needed a good coffee shop with a great atmosphere, but Blue Cups is more than just that. As an iced coffee connoisseur, I was a bit hesitant about ordering one and being disappointed. Many places in Manhattan(Joe’s, Grumpy, etc.) are highly overrated, particularly after being spoiled by La Colombe. This review is to admit that my hesitation was unnecessary. Their iced coffee is cold brewed and you can tell they use high quality beens. I asked for a shot of espresso in mine which took it from amazing to there aren’t words to describe how good it is. I found myself disappointed when I finished it(I wanted more! More!). This morning, after craving it for hours(I’m on a tight budget so I really try to make coffee at home every day), I found myself back there. Just as good as the first. The owner is so incredibly nice. If I had more time, I could sit and chat with him for hours. He’s very interesting and has a wonderful perspective. In speaking with him, you can tell he’s very cultured and well traveled. His warmth and welcoming attitude make the experience as a whole 5 stars. It isn’t like the places in Manhattan and Brooklyn where you feel like you’re being ripped off and get a bad attitude if you don’t leave at least a dollar tip(and god forbid any of them actually smile). It’s too bad the rating was screwed up by one guy over free wifi of all things. It sounds like the person working there and the owner did everything they could to try to solve the problem. Things happen sometimes. The internet in this area can be unreliable. Maybe the guy behind the counter was new, maybe someone accidentally misplaced the passcode. Most people would just say«well, that sucks» and get on with their day instead of writing a manifesto about it. I wish them the best of luck. After finding such a gem in an otherwise blando neighborhood, it’d be a shame to lose them. Support your local coffee shop, guys!

My wife and I were both pleased to see this place open up down the block from us. Let me just start by saying that there’s absolutely no reason to get your coffee anywhere else in Woodside if you can avoid it. Blue Cups is the only place that has rich, strong gourmet coffee in the vicinity, and it costs the same as it does to get crap coffee at Dunkin Donuts or Lucid Café. It’s kind of amazing that more people don’t know this yet. Secondly, as a person who works from home, I greatly appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and free wifi at Blue Cups. As someone who works primarily from home, I’ve made a habit of spending several afternoons a week here, laptop in hand, with a cup of coffee crossing things off my to-do list. The owner is friendly and generous, and the only impediment to getting work done there has been the interesting conversations I’ve been having lately with some of the other regulars! It’s a small, cozy place, but the seating is surprisingly ample and I never have trouble finding a place to set up my laptop. Overall I’m just very thankful to have a local spot where I can go to get out of the house, get some work done, and enjoy my coffee. Long live Blue Cups!

I usually like to talk walks around the Woodside area, stumbled upon this place today. The café is a little cramped: a few tables and a booth. The owner seems to love straw fedora hats, because directly to your left when you walk in are a bunch of them hung on the wall haha. I didn’t see a menu when I walked in, so I picked up their take out menu and ordered from there. I’ve yet to try the pastries, but the iced coffee was good! I would say that it was better than the one at Lucid’s. The staff was very nice and made small talk as they made my drink. Overall, it was a good experience and I’ll definitely stop by in the future.

Absolutely terrible 1st time customer experience. This review is based on customer service. This place has issues hiding within these walls. Just moved into the neighborhood recently and wanted to find a coffee shop I could relax at and get work done. I walked into this establishment and was happily greeted by two ladies. I asked if they had juice and wifi? The gentleman responded yes and YESWIFI. Before I go any further it’s important to 1) have wifi in a café and 2) if you have a wifi sign posted, that would give me the impression wifi is available and finally 3) trust the employee when they say wifi is available… you would think right? I took a seat and asked multiple times for the password. The guy said told me what he thought was the password. It wasn’t. He made a call to find out the issue(Calling his boss) but got distracted with only one customer that came in with two other employee standing around. The password doesn’t work. He told me to try another wifi login from another store(AT&T Time Warner Provider) that didn’t work either because I’m not a Time Warner Customer. Disappointed, I decided to pack all my stuff and began to walk towards the exit once the guy finished up with his customer. Very nicely I said, «Listen man your place seems like a nice small place to come to and your employee’s were nice greeting me at the door but I’m a little disappointed that your wifi doesn’t work when you told me it did. I bought the JUICEONLY after you told me you had wifi.» He made one last effort and called his boss to figure out what was going on with the server/login. They talk back and forth agreeing that THEGUY told me the wifi was down trying to cover up that fact that he told me the wifi was down! The guys tells me it’s been down for a couple days since other technicians were arranging things in the establishment. I started to get even more upset(but not screaming or yelling) «Dude really. You lied to me. Before I bought the juice you told me you had wifi, so I bought the drink. I was planning on working here for some time and without wifi I’ve been wasting my time here and my money. This has been terrible experience. He apologizes and tries to give me a protein bar. I’m about to walk out the door when he asks whether or not I paid for my juice! Then I said surprisingly, «Your kidding right. After all that your going to STILL attempt to charger me for this juice! You just lied to me. Did you not??»(He unhappily agrees) «Then why would you think it’s fair to charger me for something when you told me before I bought the juice you had wifi? I never would have purchased the juice if I knew you didn’t have wifi.» No real response only«I have kids, my job is the bring money to my boss» he says. I tell him«that doesn’t apply in this situation. You need to take responsibly for making a mistake and own up!» I’m about to walk out fed up with everything, then threatens that he’ll call the police if I don’t pay. It took an incredible amount of patience, pride and inner whoop ass not to just walk out. I wasn’t taking this matter any longer so I paid and told the guy I would never be coming back, he’s Unilocal would be getting a terrible review. *****Ask if they’re wifi works before expecting to bust out your laptop for a couple hours. Make sure the login username– password works first before you sit down or order a drink/food. They just might lie to you to bring in customers.

Love this cute little café in our otherwise not-so-cute neighborhood. I’ve had their iced coffee which was good and their Frozen Blue Cups smoothie which was amaaaazing. I’m a clean eater so I felt zero guilt drinking such a gorgeous & sinful tasting smoothie. I know the owner(he’s friends with my dad) and he offered to let me off without paying for anything! Obv I refused and paid for my drink but he gave me a free chicken/cheese empanada. The workers there are really nice too :) its a cute place for lounging. Go here!!! You won’t regret it.
