This is the best Thai restaurant in America. I used to live a few blocks away and fell in love with the quality of the food. All the ingredients are fresh, they use olive oil blends to prepare dishes, and are so generous with the vegetables. Even their brown rice is higher quality than most. My fav item is the tofu skin because it is a firm delicious tofu that doesn’t need to be deep fried to taste amazing. I actually moved to California but come back to NY a couple of months a year and always frequent my fav restaurant when I do.

Always love this place. but really disappointed this time. Want to try something different so ordered a Thai New York steak salad to go… Very disappointed… Only few beef in there and maybe one or two ting ting lettuce and that’s it… Where are all the greens… What I got it’s not a salad and can’t even be call as a dish and its cost me almost $ 16… Not happy.

Food is OK. I would give this place 4 stars but the portions aren’t that generous anymore and the food isn’t that flavorful. I do like how they offer a choice of free salad, soup or ice cream when you order off the lunch menu.

Ordered delivery for lunch again and was sorely disappointed. Yet again, they claimed that they would not give green tea ice cream for take-out. Despite them calling again to check our order, they got the side items wrong and did not include any utensils. I like the items I order from here, I’m just not sure how much I’m willing to forgo the poor service.

I love this place, so it sucks to write this. I’ve been a long time customer, and a happy one. But I’m sure I will no longer support their business after tonight. I called in a take out order, and repeated it to the take out girl. 30 minutes later I arrived to see my order was waiting but it was incorrect. I have worked almost every job in food service, so I understand mistakes happen. I asked nicely and calmly for them to make the correct order. In response I started to get dirty looks from the older woman behind the counter. When the younger girl went to the cooks they yelled at her and said it was nothing they can do, she tried a second time with no luck, more yelling and dirty looks from the older woman. Then the younger girl proceeded tell me I must have misheard her, it was my fault for agreeing to the order and there was nothing they could do. This went on for about 10 minutes. I just wanted my correct order, this should have been an easy fix. They refused to own their mistake, It was disrespectful and a disappointment. The only solution they offered me after waiting a few minutes was for me to take the wrong food and pay for it or to leave it. Ridiculous. They just lost a loyal customer, and I’m more sad than upset because I did love this place. You just can’t treat your customers like that.

Whenever i come here with my boyfriend, we usually get the bangkok noodle soup(enough for both of us to share if we’re not that hungry) it’s really flavorful and generous portion for only 9 $!! I also really like the twin eggs with ground pork. The meat is a bit too salty but if you mix with rice and veggies it balances out somewhat lol still would recommend bc it’s still yummy. They have good desserts for a decent price, my go to is the iamthai ice cream They have super cheap lunch specials 8 for appetizer, entrée and dessert. Buttttt the noodles like pad Thai… etc super bland

Review has to deal with the counter service. I came in quite often and ordered the same thing. I would ask for 2 hot sauces and the guy with the black hat always gave me a problem. One time I ordered 3 meals, and he only gave me 1 sauce. I went back in and explained 3 items should offer 3 sauces. He said no, 1 sauce per order and made me pay 25 cents for each additional sauce. Haven’t been back in a year and a half. Guy still works there.

First time here food was delicious and service is great. I had Street fried rice with Crispy pork and steam fish balls as a appetizer. And order a couple other stuff to go.

I have been here several times for lunch and dinner. I came here with my collegue on Sunday on lunch time, but I ordered from dinner menu, since they don’t serve lunch menu on Saturday and Sunday. I am alright with dinner price and willing to pay for that, also tip the waiter, but the PORTION is now small, just like lunch portion. I am was so disappointed. I wasn’t feeling full, nor my collegue. I ordered padthai chicken $ 8.95, padthai beef $ 9.95, and thai ice cream $ 4, plus tax total of $ 26.65. I left 18%tip. Yes, 18%tip, because the waiter gave us good service. 5 star for the service. I would rather go to DThai with the same price and portion of food, but a lot better environment.

Absolutely Delicious. Geat service even tho its a small counter service restaurant. Portions are a good size and the price is perfect. I had the Thai flat noodles with shrimp. They were not lite on the shrimp and shrimp size was large. Too bad I live in the Bronx otherwise this would be a weekly treat.

This is one of my favorite Thai places in Queens. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been here. I know everyone loves Sri Pra Phi. But once upon a time Sri Pra Phi had a grade of something other than«A» and since I’m a snob about that stuff, I decided to check out other options. That’s when I discovered I Am Thai Restaurant and their curry puffs! Yes! Just yes! If you don’t want the ones with meat, then there’s a vegetarian option as well. If you go as often as I do, the very sweet servers will remember you and ask you if you came back for curry puffs. Sadly, there is no fried calamari on the menu, and that’s one of my faves at Thai places. However, the rest of the food is so great that I often forget about the fried calamari. I also like that this is a small restaurant, so it never gets too loud. I don’t want to share this with you because it’s one of my favorites, but they make good food and I want them to stay in business, so go check it out!

OMG! Ha, this place has amazing Thai food! I only wish their Mango with Coconut rice dessert was year round(Mangos are not in season) but its great that they use fresh products! I had the Spicy Fried Rice with Chicken, soooo spicy but sooooo good! Yumm. I’m gonna come here at least once a week.

Best take-out and delivery Thai place around the Sunnyside/Woodside border! The quality of the food is SO much better than Dee Thai and Yum Yum Queens, which are nearby. Plus more authentic and bigger portions! I recommend: — Sam Yan Noodle — Crispy Chicken w/Garlic Rice special — Fillet Fish Noodle Soup(great for a cold day!) — Basil Ground Chicken + Twin Eggs

We loved this place. The best Thai in the Sunnyside area. You can find a little better Thai further out towards Jackson Heights but this one stands up to them. I wish Unilocal did ½ stars because we would give I Am Thai 3 ½. We started with papaya salad and thought the spicy heat was good but overall the flavor was just ok. We followed that with three entrees; Spicy Noodles(pad key mao), Chinese broccoli with crispy pork, fried tofu and cabbage with jasmine rice. All three dishes were delicious but the crispy pork was really incredible. We highly recommend it.

With such an unassuming storefront on a near desolate block on the border of Sunnyside and Woodside, you wouldn’t expect I Am Thai to bring much by the way of exciting Thai fare to the table. You would be dead wrong. I know I was. I Am Thai is humble yet well-presented, refreshing yet hearty, delicious yet affordable. Curry Puffs — Puffy flaky bites of melty curry goodness. Chicken Basil Dumplings — steamed juicy flavorful morsels of chicken and basil in al dente wrapper Roti Massaman — delicious flaky roti served with creamy sweet and spicy massaman curry Rad-Nar — a very pan-asian comfort dish consisting of al dente flat noodles and Chinese brocolli in a thick gravy Seafood Pong-Karee — a generous heaping portion of seafood served in a sweet curry sauce. LOVE the garlic rice. Get that too.

The ground chicken and rice, like everyone else mentioned, is the bomb. We got the mild because we were warned that the medium might be too spicy if we never tried it, but the mild did not have enough of a kick! I’m gonna brave the medium spice next time. The spicy noodles were just OK. I’ve had a similar kind of taste at any Chinese takeout when I order chow fun.

Been ordering delivery from here for a good bit now so just goes to show we love the food!!! Love, love, love their spicy noodles and their spicy fried rice! My husbands big on their wok station food like sautéed ginger or the basil. It’ll be a very sad day the day we move, but definitely will be going back whenever we go visit friends/family in Woodside!

The place is about 3 blocks away from the 7 train. Take-out & delivery are popular. Few tables are available and the chairs were recently replaced by stools. Shots of food are hung on the side wall. The Spicy Noodles and the Pad Se-Ew were somewhat dry but had plenty of chicken. The curry puffs were tasty and cooked well. I like to order the Ground Basil Chicken with Twin Egg and so far it’s always been on point. The Tom Yum with chicken was light and needed more seasoning. The Thai Iced Tea is good too! I once chose spicy compared to medium spicy and my taste buds were on fire. If you like your food with a kick, they know how to handle the job. The cashier was also the waiter. He was nice and provided good customer service.

Though it could be easily mistaken as a Chinese takeout spot from a distance, I Am Thai might just be the most surprising and underrated Thai establishments in the neighborhood. A family run joint, IAT thrives on home cooked style dishes with authentic flair. With no shortage of nearby competition, they certainly deserve some recognition for being a quality option. The food is simple, but fantastic. No one loses when ordering their pad see yu or pad thai, both of which are full of flavor. Curries are intoxicatingly spicy when requested and if the green curry doesn’t satisfy, the massman in its potato, nutty, creamy glory most certainly will hit the spot. Though a laughable offense in the motherland, even the Thai iced tea deserves some mention. What had me really sold on IAT is their street food style dishes, which within its new menu is known as the«over rice» combinations. Grilled pork chop and eggs over rice($ 10) is one tasty example, but the best of the bunch is the ground basil chicken with egg over rice($ 10). This last dish alone was so popular that a few years ago they listed it at $ 4.95 and the sheer demand(along with food costs) had them re-enlisting it in the close to $ 10 range. There is something just wonderful of bits of juicy chicken, running egg yolk over the morsels of rice grains. Strange but true, inflation is indeed the enemy here. As their light interior and few tables would suggest, delivery is something IAT does well. They’ve managed to do this without the need of online delivery services. I have to deduct a star for the fact they have had the wrong prices on the website for close to a year and as a result, I’ve been paying more than what I expect whether its for take out or delivery. I do love the food, but some stability on the pricing would be appreciated.

Love love love I am Thai. Don’t know much else to say, I always get the green curry with chicken and it is always amazing. Have tried the satay and curry puffs both great also. Fast delivery and really easy to order and reorder online!
