Chicken Tikka Masala — 4 out of 5 but needs to boast more heat. Although, the sauce does have a very nice bit of sweetness. Naan is a bit thick but i like the variety — chili, garlic and sweet are all available. Yogurt is incredible, the best that ive had at an Indian Restaurant. Delivery is always fast!

Terrible takeout!!! Overpriced and whatever they put in their masala makes you fart sulfur and have terrible cramps all night to the next morning!!! Overpriced masala for $ 12 and you get 4 tiny pieces of chicken!!! This place is rip off and doesn’t deserve the stars they receive. Indian food is not supposed to make you sick and gassy! If it does then it crappy just like this place!!!

I do not understand why there are so many 4 and 5 star reviews for this place. Not only was it the worst Indian food I have ever had, but perhaps one of the worst meals I have ever had. The tikka masala was basically campbells tomato soup with a pinch of curry and what tasted like a pound of sugar. I couldn’t eat it. Disgusting.

Never had a bad experience in Masala. Consistently good. I always have the same meal Chicken Masala with Naan bread. My guest or guest will always have picks from the menu and they absolutely love the food here. Swindra and sebitha(husband and wife) who run the restaurant are always so good to me and know what I’m having every time I go in there. I highly recommend Masala and I intend to be going there as long as I’m living in new york city

The service is great. They’re always very attentive and very nice. The food is really good too. I would recommend that you get the beef samosas for an appetiser.

This place is so friendly and the food is delicious. Their garlic naan is so good definitely memorable. I had coconut masala curry and it was the right combination of sweet and spicy. Definitely coming back again.

Great food. Great service. The food tastes fresh and the meat is always tender. Sometimes you get Indian food and the meat is rubbery and dense but not at this place. I’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints. The owner is very nice and the ambience is very hospitable. This continues to be my go-to Indian restaurant.

Overall the food was just OK, not really distinct flavor that stuck out. Towards the end, everything ended up just salty. Meat platter samosa was OK. I’ve never had ground beef samosa before. It needed some vegetables or potatoes along in the stuffing. It was more like an empanda without the vegetables. chicken kabob was great. It had a charred flavor but very moist on the inside. meat stick– not sure what to call it but it was very flavorful and tender. beef kabob– very tough, not that much seasoning. Mulligatawny soup– this was my first time trying this type of soup. I was expecting more things to be in it but it was just broth. It had a nice herbal, spice taste but it got watery towards the end. I wish the there were more of the lentil purée which I did not taste until towards the end. Vegetable birayani– the rice was very well cooked, had some herbs but no distinct flavor. Chicken Shabjee– it had a lentil gravy base. The chicken was very tender but it was lacking something. Perhaps more herbs or spiciness.

We stopped by here for dinner after reading all of the great Unilocal reviews. We were here on a late dinner around 9pm on a Wednesday night. The place was empty. The décor is nice. Definitely one of those place where you can take your date to. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, the chicken masala, the chili naan, the garlic naan, & an order of rice. The chicken tikka masala was good but we were a bit disappointed because it was not spicy enough. It’s actually not spicy at all for us. Well, we are not saying it’s bad, the chicken tikka masala is still pretty good but not perfect for us. If you can’t handle spicy food, you’ll definitely love the chicken tikka masala here. As for the chicken masala, this dish packed full of flavor. The chili naan, now that’s just absolutely amazing! We love it! You can taste the chili, it’s definitely spicy. The naan here seems thicker than usual. Superior food & great service! Highly recommended!

We got take out from here last night. I can’t believe I’ve never ordered from here before! The food was excellent and the portions are generous. I ate and had enough for lunch the next day :) I had the garlic tandoori chicken and my friend had the chicken tikka masala. Both of us were very pleased with our meals. We also had garlic naan and samosas. I’m also giving them 5 stars because I ordered on seamless and it was scheduled to arrive in an hour and it came in half an hour. That’s always a happy feeling(note that I live in Woodside so that probably made the delivery time faster). Overall I’m very pleased and will definitely eat there again.

Ordered take out from here the other night. Honestly every bit of it was greasy and tasteless. I had the chana masala and it was little more than creamy tomato sauce with chickpeas. Boyfriend had the Chicken Tikka Masala and he couldn’t even finish it. The naan bread was bland, but at least it soaked up the excess of sauces? I’ll probably give this place another shot because the delivery was speedy and no spice is better than wrong spices.

A tiny little place in woodside locality for Indian food. One reason you shud try their food is their bread. They serve some amazing Naan breads out of which Chili Naan is a bomb(quite literally). Garlic Naan is also quite gud. The gravies are a bit on the sweeter side but do not lack taste. I liked Vegetable Makhani over Kadhai Paneer. The later was a bit too oily and lacked sauce. Overall a gud place for a quiet Indian meal.

ordered for delivery thru seamless. it took a little over 20 minutes but that’s fine. had chicken jalfrezi and specifically ordered spicy. did not taste spicy at all but it arrived still hot so plus point for me! chicken tasted tender and moist and sauce was pretty tasty. also ordered the cucumber raita but tasted funny — next time i will not order the raita. will probably try other dishes next time. i can’t speak for the autenticity but for Sunnyside/Woodside standard it was pretty good.

Walked in to have lunch purely on the reviews. I ordered chicken tika masala; tender white meat, straight from the the oven to the table and served on a hot metal sizzling plate. I thought it was good, would i order it again probably not. Only because i like spice and heat and there was no heat. Perhaps next time i will ask for some heat if at all possible. The somosas came in a order of 2 as appetizer. Nice size somosa filled with a beef filling that had a lot of flavor. Keep in mind when you first sit at the table the waiter brought 2 small containers of sauce. One being sweet tamarind and the other being a cilantro vinager based sauce, both good but in my opinion the tamarind sauce went well with the meat somosas. I think next time i will try the veggies somosas! The chicken korma is chunks of white chicken in a walnut, butter and cream sauce. The sauce alone is succulent that it goes well with the Garlic naan. Do your self a favor and order the garlic naan and keep it handy to soak the sauce of any of the entrees you order. By the way the entrees come with rice, but the naan is so good with the a sprinkle of garlic on top. over the top! I think i will be safe if any vampires approach me on the way home. We had an order of Chana Poori, nice blend of spices, the peas are cooked in the sauce along with peppers and onion and a fried naan. I order a taj mahal beer to go with my lunch. u bet all i want to do is chill back and relax. I cannot wait to come back with more people order more variety from the menu. By the way this restaurant has an A as their letter grade from NYC health and sanitation department. So u bet i am going to keep u posted about my next outing. Let me mention that their bathroom is very clean as well, thats usually a good sign of things to come.

It’s an Indian land here! It was tough deciding on which restaurant. I ordered: Chana masala — this is my go to entrée. I’ve tried a fair share of curries and this is by far my safe choice. I can’t say this is something I would crave for again. It’s missing a secret ingredient! Vegetable dumpling — okay; I’m not sure what I was expecting since Indians are known for samosas and not dumplings — I could be wrong. Again, this isn’t something I would order again. If I’m going to eat dumplings, I would hit up a Chinese joint for way cheaper. It wasn’t dry but it wasn’t flavorful. I think it was just bland. Mushroom sauteed — it’s strangely a red color. I’m not sure how I felt about the red color. I always wondered what made their dishes so red. It was also on the salty side. We just ate this for eating it. Chili Naan — good amount of spice. Some Indian restaurants make this so spicy! Which is great for spicy lovers like me but not for mild eaters. This was the first time my girl friend tried a chili naan, she usually orders plain, and loved it! Pistachio lassi — I enjoyed it a lot. The waitress made it sound like it was going to be super sweet but she told me there’s an option to for them to not add so much sugar. Go with sugar free to enjoy this drink! It already has sugar when they make the big batch so you’ll be avoiding the additional sugar. Overall, the customer service was great. They charged my cell phone! As for the food, I’ve had better Indian food. I wasn’t even stuffed and decided to doggie bag majority of it.

We accidentally stumbled upon this place on a really hot day. And Gawd, we could not have had a better place to just stumble in to. They serve the most delicious roghan ghosht chance chicken. It was a tiny place we had found on the road. We were starving but because the place was new, we had apprehensively ordered just one entrée between the two us. But, the food blew our mind away. We ended up ordering another big portion of food and overeating that day. Two words. Brilliant food!

The garlic naan here is perfection. The sides are nice and crispy while the interior is fluffy. Just thinking about it right now is making me crave for it. Masala is possibly my favorite Indian restaurant in Queens. I always stop by when I am in the neighborhood and it never disappoints. The lamb madras is one of my favs — lamb was tender and not overly gamey. I always leave Madras content. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Last night, the owner came by and asked how we liked the meal. I told her I could have the naan EVERY day if carbs were not my enemy.

When my aunt hopped off the train near here after a Mets game, her friend thought she was nuts. She then proceeded to track down a couple and drill them on where to eat locally. Luckily for me, Unilocal found this place! We had 100% love for the service and the food we got here. We walked in kinda knowing a little about what we wanted, but the waitress and staff really helped us out. Even when we couldn’t stick another piece of naan from the bread appetizer(yummy) in our faces, they packed some up to go and insisted we keep others to have with our meals. Good call! We each ordered something different, passed stuff all around and just had a feast! Didn’t think we’d finish it all, but we did! Again, can’t say enough about the knowledgeable staff and just how well seasoned and delicious the food was!

Wow was this place great. The service, the food. Not much I can say but amazing. There were 4 of us and we all shared our dishes and were impressed by everything. Gave us so much rice for our curry. The bread basket we ordered had SOMUCH bread and it was all so delicious. It may have been breakfast the next morning… The people working there were so sweet and nice and attentive. I don’t think my water was ever empty. Wish I lived here and could give this local business my business over and over again

Being Desi, I love trying out desi places when I’m lazy to cook at home. This place had great reviews so It was definitely on the list for me. The ambience here is quiet, clean and pretty nice compared to some of the other Desi restaurants nearby(We went on a Sat around 5pm, so it was pretty empty). Let me start by saying that the service is excellent! The owner comes by herself to take your order and will come by to check to see if everything is ok. She even offered us more rice noticing that the rice provided with the meal was finished. This is definitely a great gesture that not places do, so we really appreciated that. Now the food! We ordered the following: Chicken Madras — 3⁄5 I’d give it 3 stars mostly because of the quantity. It came with like maybe 8 chunks of chicken pieces, which is pretty small considering the price. Besides that the chicken breast is very tender and the sauce is delicious! Lamb Biryani — 4⁄5 Great presentation and good portion with chunks of pure boneless lamb meat. I’d definitely recommend this dish! Palak Paneer — 3⁄5 Usually one of my favorite dishes, but here I felt it lacked flavor and spice. Raita — 1⁄5 We asked for Raita and was charged $ 2 for it, which I felt was a bit much considering that it should have came with Biryani. The raita itself was sweet and not that great. Overall, I’d give this place a 3⁄5. I’m still on my quest to find my favorite Indian Restaurant in NYC!

As some of you may know, Indian food is something that is relatively new to me. I haven’t had that many positive experiences so I am trying to give it a go. The week prior, I went to another popular Indian spot in Astoria and I was blown away how good it was. Masala, while respectable, was sweet, like way too sweet. I thought a majority of the dishes suffered from being way too sweet. The food: Vegetable Samosa– these were respectable, nice and crispy without being greasy. The filling was a little one note though. Garlic Naan– for some reason the naan seemed too think. The Naan was kinda dense and chewy, I felt like it shoulda been thinner and lighter. Saag Paneer– homemade cheese cooked with spinach in a mild creamy sauce. I think this might be my favorite dish out of all Indian restaurants. The creamed spinach and cheese offer so much flavor. I really enjoyed this. Lamb curry– tender lamb chunks cooked in a curry sauce. The lamb was cooked nicely and you could taste the flavor of lamb, the curry worked well with this dish. Chicken Tikka Masala– barbecued chunks cooked in a mild creamy sauce. This is probably the most well known dish amongst Indian food. The one here uses chicken breast, but unfortunately the chicken is tough and dry. Also, the curry was too sweet for me, I thought the balance of curry and sweetness was out of whack. Chicken Korma– cooked in a mild creamy cream sauce with cashew nuts. The chicken in this dish was dry and tough as well. You could barely taste the curry because this dish was soooo sweet. I thought this was dessert with chicken in it.
