Praise up to the hard working ladies of Taco Rey de Oro! I see one or two reviews on here criticizing the lack of English spoken at this truck. I reject these criticisms wholeheartedly. First of all, this is a Mexican food truck in a Latin@ neighborhood of Queens– why are you even hanging out here if a little Spanish is gonna bug you so bad? Furthermore, I have many times given up on my terrible Spanish and just ordered in English here and the fact is, they do understand English. As long as you can say to them the names of the menu items, you can pretty much conduct the rest of your business in English or gestures. I’ve only had great meats here. The suadero is tender and flavorful, the lengua has the funk, snap and crunch that gets us to pursue tongue instead of tamer meats. Do not ignore the spicy chicken just because it is chicken– it has a ton of great chili flavor. I haven’t tried the tortas but I do hear good things. There is a little bit of a wait at this truck but they’re cooking a lot of the meat fresh for you so don’t whine about it– it’s a feature not a bug. These are best-in-neighborhood tacos and deserve a lot of praise. Look for the truck right underneath the 51st stop on the 7 train. I got hungry while writing this review and thinking about their tacos.

I’ve tried a lot of taco trucks in the city… this is my favorite. The meat is always super flavorful. I can’t count the number of times I’ve eaten here… and will continue to stop by everyone I’m in the neighborhood. The people working here are great as well.

I seriously love this taco truck! Amazing food but the service is meh, like others said if you don’t speak Spanish you will get ignored. They also do not have a set schedule or days they are available which sucks. The service and availability is completely random but the food is good.

If you do not speak Spanish this place can be incredibly frustrating. The two women working speak English and understand English, but cater more towards its Spanish customers. Spanish customers will receive conversation, engagement, and even be served first. Spanish customers will walk up and be helped first while you are standing there waiting for one of the workers to ask«can I help you?» That being said, they will not ask you. You have to walk up and just start blurting out your order. I get the same thing most of the time and I always say that I would like three tacos with everything, cheese, cilantro, mild salsa, and a drink. Operationally there are only two people… it’s really not rocket science. By the time my meat has been cooked they don’t remember my order and I have to repeat myself. Then when it passes from the woman who cooks to the woman who finishes the tacos they ask me again for what I want. It’s almost like they just don’t listen. I’ve also walked home with the wrong order twice before. It’s right off the train for me on my way home from work so I got because it’s convenient.

I’ve been going here the last 8 years. However as of late, I get ignored while, trying to order. Spanish men walk up, and place their order, while I stand there ignored. The last 3 times I’ve walked away and gone home. This place used to rock but I get if you’re not Spanish you can forget customer service. Go to the truck on 41st and queens Blvd. much friendlier and the food is better.

I’ve passed by this truck numerous times and just haven’t had the urge to try it. Well, yesterday I wanted something cheap and convenient. I chose the mixto, pastor, and carnitas tacos to go. Got home half hour later they were still warm and the tortillas did not fall apart. I gotta keep it real and let u know I didn’t know which was which. I could only say they were all good. Had good flavor which sometimes these trucks lack. The salsa verde was awesome. I have a minor complaint that the tortilla was just a hair stale. Maybe could’ve heated up a little more to soften. Otherwise good spot for tacos. Will try the beef tongue next time.

This place was decent, not great. I prefer my chicken tacos minced… it was a bit bland, but the red salsa was amazing and spicy. Their green salsa was decent, beef tongue was fine but appetizing. I prefer the 61st st tacos.

I have been coming to this truck for years to get my taco fix. The ladies that work here are amazing and have delicious tacos. My personal favorite are the tacos al pastor and tacos de carnitas. Be advised that they do run out of certain types of food depending on the rush. Their food is always fresh and made to order. The truck is usually here wed through Sunday. I have nothing but good things to say about this truck. You see people of all ages and races that come to enjoy their food. All I can say is BRING your appetite !! Enjoy!

Late night, homemade and authentic. The food is quality and inexpensive. That will always get a yes from me and this truck is parked right off the 52nd St stop on the 7 train so it’s really hard to say no. The women running the truck are really nice. You have to wait a little bit for your food, maybe 10 minutes or so, but you know it’s fresh and made to order. This place rules. Just get it. I always feel good about supporting this truck. Good food, good people, good deal, what’s not to like?

Best tacos in NYC, hands down. Great food(everything on the menu is delicious!) run by very nice people. I’ve been coming to this truck ever since I was a little girl and they never fail to satisfy. I used to live a block from here, and even after moving 30 minutes away, I still come here whenever I crave tacos!

Welcome to Taco Lana Del Rey De Rita Ora. What a fantastic pop star taco truck this is. You can get Pop Tarts, Pop Corn, and Popped Cherries. Those are a new kind of candy that are really, really big amongst West Virginia teens. Just kidding, I love West Virginia teens. No, no, not in that way. I do love West Virginia though. And they’re the best at baking, did you know. I’m not sure what it is that they put in bread, but it makes it taste amazing. :) What to get: Chicken Tacos What not to get: Herpes What else not to get: Any STD for that matter Why not: If you have to ask, there’s no point me explaining. Just get some tacos I asked to see the guy’s face, the guy who was cooking my pollo. He refused to take off«The Mask Of Oro.» I’ve been to this food truck twice now, both times late at night, and both times I absolutely loved it. I’ve been to El Vagabundo, Guadalajara De Noche, Tri Tacos, and here, and all four were five star spots. None absolutely blew me away, but I did love all four. Did you know that the Rey from Taco Rey is the same Rey that owns all the Rey’s Pizza places in Manhattan? At this particular spot, I asked the guy working here(in my broken Spanglish) which tacos he recommended. He insisted on the chicken. I usually never get chicken tacos. I’m into asada, pastor, chorizo, carnitas, you name it. But since he was so certain, I went with the pollo and I was delighted. So juicy and flavourful and tasty. They weren’t too expensive and were extremely authentic. The woman from the Matrix works here by the way. The all-knowing one. They call her the Oro-cle. The chicken tasted a lot like the tacos I recently got from Lorenzo’s way up in Albion, NY. Which by the way is a very good thing. I will definitely be back for more tacos. I love going down(to Queens) and eating tacos(especially wet juicy ones like these). Now eat some of them. Oro the taco gets it.

The best Tacos in NYC! They taste just like the ones you’ll find in Mexico. This truck is so authentic with all the sauce and toppings you’ll need to satisfy your taco cravings! This taco truck is stationed outside the 52nd St — Lincoln Ave stop on the 7 train. It’s always a welcomed site when I get off the train. I get the chorizo, chicken, beef, and al pastor tacos($ 2.50) all the time. So good and cheap!

Perks of living in queens: taco trucks galore! Love being able to grab a quick bite to eat after a long day. Love this Truck because it’s right off my train stop and the sauces are bomb.

I LOVETHISTACOTRUCK — this may offer my favorite tacos in NY — the al pastor — omg. I always try to get my boyfriend to drive out for these tacos — they are very filling, and are $ 2.50 a pop. They are totally worth the drive. Now these are some fresh authentic tacos.

This taco truck is stationed outside the 52nd St — Lincoln Ave stop on the 7 train. I’ve tried the roast pork, spicy pork, chorizo and steak tacos, but my favorite here is the spicy pork. The steak tacos seem to run out by the end of the night. The price for steak tacos are $ 3 each, whereas the pork tacos are $ 2.50 each. The tacos here are decent, but not as good as the taco cart located outside the 74th Street — Roosevelt Ave stop. The tacos there come with guacamole(liquid form).

Fresh! Tasty! And affordable especially when you’re hungry. Completely worth the trip! The quesadillas were made just like in Mexico so if you’re looking for the authentic stuff this is a good place to go.

If you’re from SoCal and stuck in New York with no place to turn to fix those taco cravings. come to the El Rey de Oro taco truck! I go to school in Southern California but when I’m back home in the good ol’ New York City, I crave the Mexican food I’m so spoiled with out West. My mission was to find a taco truck that would satisfy my cravings in NYC, and El Rey de Oro fits the bill exactly. Their tacos are superb. Simple with onion, cilantro, and a wedge of lime on the side, just like they do it in LA and San Diego. Al pastor is usually my favorite, but El Rey de Oro’s lengua(beef tongue) tacos just might have moved my loyalty. Don’t let the name intimidate you, the beef tongue is amazing and have no semblance to anything like a slimy gross tongue, just a really delicious cut of beef. I let my friends who were too grossed out by the thought of cow tongues have a bite of my own, and they liked it. Definitely a must try!(The Al Pastor is still top notch. I think it will always remain my favorite but I’m seriously crushing on this lengua.) Most tacos go for $ 2.00 and a few for $ 2.50(like the lengua). Open late, and right outside the 52nd street 7 train station. Definitely will be back to try all other tacos!

This food cart is great! Just so simple and tasty. what els I have to say about? We’ve been thinking about to try this food cart but never had a chance to but we finally did! We stopped by this food car with my husband to get a quick late night dinner. it was about 10pm on Saturday night and we already saw many people made a line to get tasty mexican food. The line told us that it must be really good and I was right! We did try Tacos(Beef & sausage, spicy pork, Beef tongue) and Chorizo Tortas and that was all good!!! I definitely go back to have more tasty food in there:)

Even if there were a dozen taco trucks in Woodside, it would be likely El Rey de Oro would be among the top. There are plenty of taco carts along this stretch of Roosevelt, but none of them seem to offer the quality and dynamite flavor like The King. One can find this street side gem parked beneath the tracks of 52nd Street stop via the 7 Train, where they’re open late every night of the week. Both El Rey de Oro and TRI( ) just down the street are the among the only taco trucks in Queens still offering them at $ 2 each(however, it’s $ 2.50 for lengua, bistec, and campechana). $ 2.50 is the average price across street taqueria land and $ 3 is probably going to be happening sooner than later. El Rey has both taste and price as distinct advantages; enjoy it while it lasts. The family that manages the truck are a friendly bunch. As predicted, the parents are less dependent on the English than the daughter that sometimes makes an appearance. As long as one can say the menu items, there isn’t ever really a problem. One of my all time favorites, the carnitas taco is superb. The meat is fatty, juicy, and grilled just right to have a little bit of crisp on the outside for a nice bite. Coupled by some fresh lime(ask for lime if they give you lemons), some salsa verde, cilantro and the fixins, it’s the kind of late night snack worth venturing out for. I appreciate their other meats, most notably the chorizo and lengua, which are also delicious in torta form. Give your tastebuds and taco cravings a treat, by visiting Woodside’s best. Viva El Rey de Oro!
