This small place knows that less is more! Small menu but always done right. Homemade turkey sausage patties are a must and so is the homemade cornedbeef ash(usually on weekends). Only issue, the summer renovation is great but the new counter is not as comfy as the old one. Tables are pretty much the same as before.

Pleasantly surprised, stopped by here a few weeks ago because of some spare time to burn. Had a turkey sandwich and an old fashioned root beer(from a local brand) have to say I really enjoyed it and the entire experience. Really reminded me of much higher end places in DC, very well versed and efficient staff, very good food and not obnoxiously expensive. A hidden jem in the quiet corner of CT.

Stopped in for a «coffee and» on a Thursday morning. Really pretty interior, pleasant young lady behind the counter. All sorts of pastries and turnovers and muffins. Self serve coffee from three or four carafe pumps. Server brought my turnover to my table. There’s definitely not a lot of options in this rural area, but Java Jive more than filled the bill for a coffee, snack, and a nice clean restroom!

Truly a must go. I love it here, however slightly on the pricey side other than that it is perfect!

My husband and I got take-out from the Java Jive for our lunch while doing volunteer work nearby. For a chicken salad croissant sandwich, a roast beef sandwich, 2 Snapple drinks and one cinnamon roll, our tab was $ 27+. True, the sandwiches came with a pickle spear and a small bag of potato chips, so maybe the prices wouldn’t have been so bad EXCEPT the roast beef sandwich was inedible. My poor husband took one bite and almost gagged. The roast beef was a sickly gray color and had an «off» odor with an awful gone-bad flavor. I don’t know how the staff could not have noticed that the meat was spoiled and put it in that sandwich. To be fair, the chicken salad croissant was OK and the staff refunded our money when we brought back the offensive sandwich. But I doubt we will take any further chances on Java Jive. Our one other time there, my husband bought a pastry to take home and when he opened the bag he found the pastry to be so hard and dry that he almost choked on it. From these two experiences we have concluded that Java Jive staff are not careful in monitoring the freshness of their food items. Too bad, since there are so few places to get breakfast and lunch in Woodstock.

I love Java Jive, especially with the new owners! This little townie café is great for the weekends out for breakfast. With the same 2 waitresses and cook every week, you know the service and food is going to be great. It’s décor is modern and they sell all kinds of items from baked goods to paintings to little knick-knacks. They have a small breakfast menu, but the lunch menu is plentiful! The prices are little high for such a small café, but it’s always empty, except for the few people who come in every week for breakfast, including me! Such great food, great service, and so comfortable! Everyone always says hello or good morning and eventually gets to know you by name if you go frequently.

My friends & I have spent lots of mornings here, enjoying coffee, tea, baked goods and yummy breakfasts. Their home-made soups are so good! I love the salads, wraps, and grilled cheese. They’re always willing to wing it and make something custom for us. They’ve got a great variety of teas, coffees and coffee-based drinks. You can get oatmeal with a ton of different ingredients to make your own, delicious combo. Their turkey sausage is a spicy home-made treat! This place has a great, friendly staff and, more importantly, is always spotlessly clean. They recently added all new tables & really comfy chairs. Bonus: Free Wi-Fi! Check out the Jive for breakfast, lunch or just coffee. They do to-go orders, too!
