It took 1:30hr mins to deliver my food! I called & a rude woman answered! I asked her if everything was okay before she even let me finish my sentence she said she didn’t know and all food was gone! Really?! BAD customer service!

The food is «meh» nothing to brag about… I gave them a few chances hoping it might get better, but it didn’t.

We have gone here several times and always have great service and good food. My boyfriend would eat here once a week if he could. They give large portions and the drinks a always good!

The food caused me serious issues at both ends simultaneously. Not a pretty picture.

My boyfriend and I have been here twice; once to eat and the other for drinks. Both times we had very satisfactory service. Keep in mind that tropical drinks are usually on the strong side, and they live by that motto here. Food is great, and I may be accustomed to the pricey Foxboro dining but I find the prices very reasonable at Ho Kong. Will definitely return.

I miss you Ho Kong! I moved to California a year ago and no one does Chinese like you guys do. My mom still orders from you guys once a week. totally not fair! See you guys when I come home to visit. Can’t come soon enough.

This place used to be good years ago but seriously went down hill from the food to the cleanliness and customer service. The owner is very rude no smiles how r u they just approach you and say what you want and then toss the food at you. I discovered not one but 2 cockroaches in the rest room. Was recently told by a friend that she had found a cockroach in her rice. I will not be returning

Ho Kong eat-in is somewhat of a challenge and something I will do very reluctantly. Getting take-out is a whole different matter. I think they have the best tasting Chinese food in Woonsocket with more than ample portions. I often get three meals out of a 10 dollar combination plate. My favorite is combo #20(Kung Pao Chicken, pork fried rice, and boneless spare ribs.) The food is consistent and the vegetables are always fresh in the Kung Pao. The ribs are delicious. The only beef I have is that there is never enough pork in the fried rice. Overall, I find their food consistent, tasty and plentiful

Ho Kong could use a remodel and the service can be slow. It’s consistently that way so be prepared for it. Either you can deal with it or you can’t. My fiancé and I happen to love going there usually once a week and truly believe the food is worth it. The wonton soup is large and packed with veggies, pork and dumplings. It’s always hot and it’s not packed with salt. The duck sauce and bread is a great free app. If you like crab Rangoon you MUST get it here. After having theirs I won’t eat it anywhere else in RI. Sweet n sour sauce is amazing. Generals chicken is to die for.

Stopped in for scorpion bowls and appetizers and was served raw chicken wings. Was spoken to rudely by owner, wings were not redone or removed from check. Never again!!!

Just left here and this is the second bad experience I’ve had in a row. First time there was a hair in the rice. Tonight we waited 10 mins before anyone came over to us and the bar tender was just standing there doing nothing. My boyfriend got a beer and it was expired, told the already rude waiter and he gave us attitude and argued about it. We surprisingly still ordered food which wasn’t bad but this place is certainly going down hill. My family and I used to come here all the time. Don’t know what happened to the good service. Won’t be back anytime soon.

It’s an average place where something they excel at and others are just so so. Could use some updating on the inside and a Makeover. Can get pretty loud at the bar which then carries over to the dinning room area near it. Service is just OK and can be a little slow at times depending on where you are seated.

How can this place be getting so many high star reviews? I was hesitant to go here since it’s across the street from some kind of sewage processing place that sickens me to drive past. I don’t know how you can come here in the summer without getting nauseous on the way in. It was late one night in the winter, cold, and there was no smell, so I decided to stop and grab a combination plate for takeout. I got boneless ribs, kung pow chicken, and rice. The ribs were dry, overcooked, and tasted faintly of cigarette smoke or some similar chemical smoke. I couldn’t eat them. The chicken was mostly large pieces of chopped up celery and nuts, soggy in a pool of sauce. The flavor was nothing special. The rice tasted just like it came from a box and made up about 70% of the takeout box. It was one of those three section boxes with one large area and two smaller ones. The rice completely filled one small compartment, and the majority of the other. At first I thought they gave me a good helping of ribs until I moved them aside and found more rice. This is the only time I can remember throwing out a meal, it was that bad. This is one of four Chinese places in the area, and I regularly order from the others without incident. All of them somehow have a lower rating than this one. I don’t understand, but I certainly won’t be back here.

Amazing prices, delicious food & drink and mountains of meat. Shiat’s gettin’ serious. Reminiscent of the Polynesian restaurants I loved as a child, Ho Kong may not look like much but damn, they don’t play around. Nevermind the huge-ass section of drinks they offer, on both occasions the hubby & I ate in, the food was incredibly fresh, delicious and the portions borderline insane. The first time we stopped in for dinner, I made the huge mistake of ordering their boneless chicken & gravy with fries and a small order of fried rice. …Needless to say the entrée was stacked the size of a football(I could only eat two pieces of the chicken). Between the both of our orders, we had leftovers for literally two days after. Since then we’ve been frequent customers of both the dine in floor and their delivery service. Regardless of what mad late time of night we give them a buzz, our food is consistently hot and on our table in less than 30 minutes. The only issue we’ve ran into so far is the staff forgetting the brown gravy I always order on the side. No real drama. I will warn peeps up front: the food here is utterly lethal: super greasy, doused in MSG but absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely miss Ho Kong when I move back to Providence!

I hadn’t been to this establishment in years. I love Chinese food, especially chow mein. The restaurant was freezing, the waiter was in a rush to move to/from the bar to kitchen though there were only two other active tables and only a couple of drunks at the bar. Our food(party of five) arrived cold except for the terriyaki which was nice and hot. The food tasted old as if the vegetables had been sliced and diced perhaps a week or so earlier. I had always had good memories of the food but will NEVER visit again. How does this place stay open?(I’m thinking perhaps the bar tabs? The two men at the bar were extremely intoxicated, loud and obnoxious like they should have been shut off hours before!)

This place is outstanding! The tiki type drinks are so delicious, and the drink menu is quite extensive. They do not water their drinks down, in fact, they are sometimes a bit on the strong side, but I like that. I usually order the scorpion bowl but I’ve had others and they are just as good. Their food is the best I’ve had in the area. The dumplings, called Peking dumplings are to die for– oh my God, I could eat an endless supply of those things! I’ve had their sesame chicken, chicken and beef lo mein, crab rangoons, pu-pu platter, and beef and broccoli. I’ve probably had other things too, but everything I have had has been delicious, fresh and worth every penny. We go about once a month or so and my in-laws have developed a great relationship with one of the owners, Julien. Whenever we come in, even if it’s been over a couple of months he still remembers my son’s name. He brings over extra fruit for my son and he is very personable. At the end of our meal he packages everything up for us, gives us extra sauce to go and is very efficient. He has a pretty good sense of humor and jokes about working all of the time. The décor is something out of the 80’s but it is well maintained. The restrooms are small but it’s fine. I wish they had a changing station but that isn’t a huge deal. Overall, this place is a diamond in the rough. If you are in the area stop by for some good drinks and excellent Chinese food.

I drive to Woonsocket for the drinks at Ho Kong. Particularly, the Mai Tai, although I’ve yet to have a bad drink. I have gone to other Chinese restaurants SPECIFICALLY to find Mai Tai as good as theirs(but maybe a little bit closer to me!). Those things are magical. The food is pretty good… huge portions… you can easily split an entrée or combination plate and still leave full/with leftovers. Bottom line is: it’s worth the drive.

As others have noted, this appears to be the last Tiki joint left open in the Ocean State. The food is pretty good. Typical fare for what you’d expect from a joint like this. What I was more interested in was their décor. Ho Kong is an old school, vintage tiki restaurant, with the arched doorway and a lot of exotica swag on the walls inside. The bar is more Tokyo-meets-tiki than vintage tiki, but it’s still pretty good. I had a few mai tais in the bar — very strong and boozy, not so much fruity. These guys mean business. And they make a plethora of tiki drinks — headhunters, zombies, Navy grogs, scorpion bowls. It’s worth checking out for the booze selection and the décor alone.
