Spa Collections offers a variety of beauty services from haircuts, to hair styling, to nails, to skin care. Sad to say, the salon here is a perfect example of where quality has been overlooked for quantity. Haircut: I’ve been here twice, with Rihannon(sp.) as my stylist. While she was very nice, she just was not good in any way. My first time here, my friend made a comment about Rihannon’s un-masterful way of holding scissors as she’s cutting hair. When she went to work on my hair, she did a subpar job of blending, and her cuts were slow and unsure. The final result was sub-subpar. The second time back was an even worse experience. I gave specific measurements and lengths for my hair to be cut, and needless to say, Rihannon ignored them and cut as she saw please. When I commented that my hair was cut way shorter than desire, Rihannon simply responded with, «Oh.» Not good business. Facial: I got a facial today with Adelia and it was hands down the most disappointing facial I’ve ever had. The facial started with a neck and shoulder massage that frankly was inconsequential. Not enough pressure was applied and it just felt like I was being gently touched with oil and grease. The actual extraction and face-intensive part of the facial was anything but intensive. I could tell by the way she was extracting my acne that she was not comfortable using the extractor. She even made a comment about about how grime was miraculously coming off my face due to the steaming process. This is a duh comment as the steaming process opens up the pores for the extractor to scrape off any built up dirt. Furthermore, Adelia did not even get all the acne on my face. To top it off, she didn’t wash her hands between massage my shoulders and scalp and touching my face during the extraction process. Gross. The facial cost $ 85, tax included, which is fine if the facial had been decent. In closing, Spa Collections strives for fancy and comfort, but lacks staff with talent to carry through this vision. For hair, I’d recommend Sheer Professional. For facial, I’d recommend… not going here.
