I called to schedule work… what I needed, I’m sure is pretty routine, toilet flange replacements. So I asked for a ballpark price on the phone. The receptionist said she’d have someone call me with the price. No one called with an estimate. On the day of service at 8am, the receptionist calls and cancels. She asks to reschedule, and so I say sure. I ask again for a rough estimate over the phone, she promises that if no one can call me, she will get the information and let me know… I hear nothing. So second scheduled service day, the guy arrives, I tell him I wanted an estimate, which he agrees to, and spends 10 minutes looking at the issue, writes up $ 700 estimate to install 2 «repair kits». I didn’t want repair kits… 250 $ of that estimate is to pull and put back the toilets… I tell him that’s way too rich for me, especially for repair kits and not flange replacements. So, I say thanks but no thanks… He then tells me there is a 135 $ fee for stopping out, which was news to me, so I told him «no one told me that, and I asked twice for an estimate over the phone». And that just ticked me off, and I ask him to just leave. He goes out to his truck, and forgets his tablet and I bring it out to him. He sits out there for 10 minutes on the phone. He gets out and I hear him talking on the phone telling someone that they have to call me and let me know something… I can only guess he’s after the 135 bucks, so as he approaches. I tell him to please leave the premises. He then says «I was trying to get you a better rate»… yea, right…

Scott came to my house to help me after a frozen pipe started leaking the night before. Scott is just a really nice guy who does things the right way. He explained everything he was doing and worked hard to get my problem corrected. The cost was in line with most other plumbers (although mine will be covered by insurance)
