I was extremely disappointed after reading reviews here. The restaurant was filthy and needed extensive repairs. The food was the worst Chinese I have had in the area. Made the mistake of using the rest room on the way out, Filthy and in need of repair. Both myself and my lunch guest felt the same.

Really happy with this place. Wasn’t expecting too much from the area as we’re used to having 20 different Chinese places to choose from in Chicago, but Golden Wok was outstanding! Pan fried dumplings were really good, as were the egg rolls /crab rangoon. Mongolian beef had a solid flavor and the shrimp fried rice was a large portion, and not greasy at all. When we’re back in the area we’ll be hitting up Golden Wok again for sure.

My go to place for Chinese food in the area. Great crab rangoons, and usually get wonton soup and beef drunken noodle. Never disappointed.

Fair prices, quick wait time, large menu. I like everything I’ve tried so far. My only criticism is Parking can occasionally be limited and they don’t deliver. It’s not the largest dining space I usually do take out. I like their crab Rangoon, walnut shrimp, and sesame chicken

This place is good! I just wish they delivered. It’s kind of ridiculous that they don’t. They also don’t have brown rice, which I find super odd. Anyway– good food cooked quickly. The staff is very nice.

I love this place. I have ordered from here a few times when I was visiting/house-sitting for relatives in the area, and it blows my local Brighton Chinese options out of the water. My standard Chinese food order is sesame chicken or General Gau’s with pork fried rice and an egg roll. I have ordered a sesame combo here every time I have gone, and I have yet to be disappointed. The chicken is tender and flavorful, and the rice has also had a lot more pizzazz(read: recognizable vegetables and pork) than many other places, and it has never been overcooked. The egg rolls have also been crispy and yummy. And when I have gone with other people, they have also had rave reviews of their food(which included crab rangoons, beef teryaki, and boneless spare ribs). It’s still not the absolute best Chinese takeout I have ever had(Mei’s in Pembroke, NH still holds that title), but it’s a close second. The best part is that this place is super-inexpensive with fairly generous(but not intimidating) portions, and the folks who run it are friendly and efficient. I will definitely continue to order from here when I find myself in the Grafton Street area!

So slow… waited longer than most others who came in after us and the cashier gave us no info on why our simple order was taking so long. Will not return.

It was just average and the egg roll was super greasy and didn’t have much in it. General Tsao was good!

So I have been to golden wok a few times and am a fan. They are not the best Chinese food around but for the price they are the best! The general gows chicken is very good and the pupu for 2 is the only place in Worcester that is worth ordering all others are a rip off! There is four of everything except the egg rolls and shrimp. The food is always ready for take out in less then 15 to 20 minutes and by the time I get home the food is still to hot to eat its perfect if you live far away. The beef with onions is less then appetizing though that is the only thing I would advise against getting, it is very little beef with lost of peppers and onions. Also the fried rice is less then desirable.

The hot and sour soup is good and the Panang curry is pretty good as well. Nice go-to Chinese place in Worcester.

I was underwhelmed by both the sesame chicken and the chicken with veggies. I was really hoping the sesame chicken would be crisp and flavorful but instead it was a saucy mush. I just moved here three weeks ago from Orange County, CA so perhaps I am biased due to the plethora of authentic and fresh Chinese found in CA.

This place is way better than anyone has a right to expect in Worcester. I went there every week when I lived there. They always had my order ready within minutes of calling(when I ordered take out). The Sesame Chicken, Drunken Noodles, and Honey Chicken are among the best I’ve ever tasted, and at more reasonable prices than most places. Most of the Thai dishes rival the best I’ve ever had, including Thai Basil and Chicken with cashews. Personally, I found the General Gao’s Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, and Orange Chicken par, but you can’t win them all. It’s also not a fancy décor, if that’s what you are looking for, but I prefer down-to-earth family establishments to places that prioritize atmosphere over food. I had a friend that prefers things even spicier than I do, so if you want it extra spicy, really nail the point home!

This place is horrible! I don’t know what the big hoopla is about it! Got a combo plate thinking it would be safe since it was my first time there. Right when I got that plate of food I knew it was going to be horrible. The fried rice had diced up carrots and peas in it. Not my idea of fried rice. I knew right then and there this was going to be a disaster. Lack of flavor. The boneless ribs were dried up like beef jerky. The egg roll was overly greasy and the duck sauce/sweet sauce was bitter. NO balance of sweet/sour at all. And why is it when you request hot mustard you get half a teaspoon’s worth. Is this stuff like liquid gold or what??”??? Someone humor me please… There are NO good chinese food places in this area. WTF?! I’m still on the hunt for finding something comparable to chinese/polynesian food out in this area. I’m beginning to think there is no such thing around here. This is what I miss most about the boston area. They at least have awesome chinese food places. Out here sucks.

Found this place randomly on google maps. We pre-ordered by phone. When we arrived to pick the food up, initially we weren’t impressed with the décor and assumed the food will reflect that. But we were wrong! Fast service, great food quality, great portions for the price… Reliable Chinese food! One of those in the middle of nowhere places that happen to be solid.

Best Chinese food in all of Worcester. Fast and very friendly service. Love the scallion pancakes! Family run establishment. Def worth the drive!

The food here is very fresh and tasty. It’s not overloaded w/syrupy sauces or gloppy like some of the other Chinese restaurants in the area. Just try their egg rolls and you’ll note how fresh they taste. Also, the place is super clean and the prices are reasonable. I’m glad I found GW.

I’ve been to Golden Wok quite a few times, and its now become my go to place for cheap to go chinese food in the city. They do all the basics pretty well, rangoons, soups and scallion pancakes are especially good. The Orange/Sesame/General Gau’s chicken are about what you’d expect. Not amazing, but good. The thai dishes are especially good… coconut fried rice and mango beef are especially good and fresh. All in all just a step above the normal takeout chinese food in Worcester. They’ve also been super friendly each and every time I’ve been there. All in all, a good and cost effective dinner/lunch option.

Very good Chinese, best I’ve found in the neighborhood. Chinese is one of those staples(like Pizza) where you need to experiment with places and find ones you like. Sadly, for living in the city(Worcester) I’ve found it hard to find a great standby for either Chinese or Pizza. Golden Wok is my current standby, they’re pretty good. I won’t say GREAT but ‘very good’ is accurate. It’s always subject to personal tastes with Chinese. Me — I am looking for your standard, greasy and delicious but awful for you appetizer type foods.(Don’t expect dim sum or a Thai place — this is a standard take out/eat in Chinese place) The place is clean and everyone’s friendly, the prices are reasonable too. I always pickup my takeout, though they have a dining area.(not sure if they deliver?) The food is good, the standard Chinese fare has been good to me. The rice is very good, I love the goons and chicken wings. If you venture into trying some of their entrees(General Gaos, pad thai, etc) — note that it may not be what you expect. I found both good, but it’s not what most restaurants would give you as those dishes. It’s hard to explain, just warning you that these dishes seem to be ‘their take on’ the dishes. One thing that bothers me a little is their pupu platter comes with TWO standard shrimp dishes — I don’t eat shrimp. So if you like shrimp, you may LOVE this. So when I call I have to be a huge bother and substitute them out, which is an inconvenience(especially when we both have accents) — but they’re friendly and accommodating. Oh also — they always ask if you want more duck sauce as they’re ringing you up, which I love. They go out of their way to make sure you have enough. Some Chinese places seem to get offended when you ask for extra sauces — how dare you! «Everyone want extra» I was once told, angrily, at a different place. Golden Wok seems to want to make sure you get everything you want and that you leave happy, which is really nice. So when I’m not in the mood to drive across the city to the GREAT places(reviews to come) — Golden Wok suits me pretty well to satisfy the Chinese craving.

Very nice inside, I only got a couple of things, standard Chinese fast food and was fine. My wife who Thai, she is very picky about Hot and Sour soup. She raved about this soup, «Happy wife, Happy life.» Honestly, I used to go to an ethnic Chinese food Restaurant in Bourne, it has ruined me for Chinese fast food, maybe if this place is successful they will branch out to a couple of real Chinese dishes, rather than«Americanized Chinese fast food.»

For what it is, this place is decent. It is basically one step above fast food Chinese. The one step above I gave for what it looks like inside, not for the food. When you pull into the parking lot the place seems like it will be a standard fast food Chinese place. The interior is nicer than that though. The tables and chairs look like they should be in a restaurant with waiter service. They even have soy sauce at each table in nice ceramic pourers just like at sushi places. The menu is pretty standard with the addition of some Thai dishes. The food itself was decent. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The prices are reasonable. I hot a lunch special which came with soup, an entrée, fried rice, egg roll, and a soda for under $ 8. One thing I liked is that they gave me a bag of crispy noodles for my soup. That is almost unheard of in MA. NY people will know what I am talking about. The noodles were stale, but stale noodles are better than no noodles. I will not be rushing out to this place again, but if I am looking for a decent inexpensive quick meal while I am in the area then I will certainly put this place on the list.
