The place and filthy and the staff unresponsive. I’m so frustrated at the treatment(or the lack of) my father has been receiving while recovering from hip surgery. The staff is rude and disinterested. They don’t communicate well with each other or the patients. Always late with meds when they show up at all. I had to drive over there to BRINGMYFATHER A DRINK because they were t responding. You have a choice… don’t make it here.

I worked at this facility for 4 months and I can honestly tell you all the negative things on here are 100% true. not only do the staff mistreat the residents, they mistreat their coworkers too. Please, if anyone recommends this hellhole for you or a family member, RUN, do not walk, the other way! THISPLACESUCKS!

If I could give this snakes pit a negative rating I would. My 80 plus year old grandmother came here after having her second hip surgery. I told her that this place didn’t have good reviews but she told me she had came for a visit and did a walk though with whoever was supposed to be «in charge». She was there less than 24 hours before calling family members and said we had to get her out of there. She said the staff was beyond unfriendly and it took them over 3 hours for her to get a response from one of the so called«care givers». Not only was she in pain while she waited for them to come help her but she also had to use the restroom and was given direct instructions not to try and get around on her own. The employes where aware of her restrictions. Then when she demanded to leave and get picked up my family they told her over and over she was not ALLOWED to leave over the weekend so she had to wait till Monday! Seriously!!! Finally after my father and uncle raised hell she was allowed to leave. We contacted her primary care doctor about the situation and we were told that they have ever heard of such a rule! So obviously someone was just bring lazy and I didn’t want to do their job. These people are supposed to take care of out loved ones when we can’t, and this place failed miserably. Please do not take a loved one here!!!

Based on my past experience with my father’s care here, I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER choose to put a family member in this facility again.

This is about Laurels of Norworth. Had my family member there for 2 weeks before I was able to move her out. All seemed nice when I was given the tour beforehand, but the hall that she was actually placed in was a different story. It always reeked of urine. Her 2-patient room shared a toilet with another 2-patient room, one of those patients required an elevated toilet seat which prevented bedpans from being rinsed in the toilet. So I saw the aides rinsing the bedpan in the sink where both roommates were to bathe and brush their teeth. ICKICKICK !!! I also saw a housekeeper come from cleaning in the toilet room, and with the same rag wipe that sink, then WITHTHESAMERAG come over and wipe the bedside tables. ICKICKICKICKICK !!! I helped my family member brush her teeth and put the supplies away in her cupboard. Two days later I noticed that they hadn’t moved – sure enough no one had helped her clean her teeth in 2 days. The staff wanted her sedated to keep her in bed because she kept trying to get to the toilet on her own –definitely a problem since she was post-stroke and couldn’t walk safely alone which was the reason she was there! But they told me(YES! actually said to me!) they they didn’t have time or staff to deal with this. So why was the call button consistently left out of her reach — hanging on the TV at the end of her bed??? Why didn’t they make the effort to offer to take her to the toilet every hour or so(she could walk, just needed supervision). Sedating is sooo much easier, isn’t it, except then you have to use diapers and CHANGE those diapers… Lastly, I caught the«nurses» giving her meds wrong 3 times. Consider this in light of the fact that I work full time and wasn’t there even every day… The physical therapy staff seemed competent, however. I hear that they’ve remodeled and expanded, but if the practices and staffing are unchanged then all they’ve done is dress up the pig.
