This place is a complete laugh. The owner Maggy wouldn’t do my sons back massage because her hand was sore even though we still had to pay for it! She sat and argued in front of us with who I’m considering was another employee about the register being short the night before. Not something a customer needs to hear and very unprofessional. She even told the customer before us at checkout if they posted a good review on Unilocal they would receive a discount. Smh… Didn’t think that was allowed. That’s how I got the idea to post here. My sons haircut was just very average. I wouldn’t recommend unless you want a headache.

I stumbled across this place, and so glad I did! Reading through the reviews this place has had its moments as with any Fairly new small business getting the wheels off the ground, especially when your dealing with the public and never know who’s gonna walk through the door. Very nice place, laid back atmosphere and I’ve never received anything but outstanding service. The steam towels and shoulder massage are amazing. Totally worth a drive and the money. They may charge more than your sister does to do it in her basement, but compared to what you get at a shop somewhere it’s totally worth a drive and the money. So don’t be shy, and give Not Your Daddy’s Buzz Cuts a try!

Was new to this area and I previously got my haircut 20 minutes south in Grandview, however I didn’t want to drive down so I checked Unilocal and thought I would try a local establishment. The entire time the owner was complaining to another patron about her power/gas being cut out because of lack of payments. Not sure patrons want to hear about the barbers’ problems, its supposed to be the other way around. After the haircut, I mentioned that I saw a first time«haircut» deal on facebook for $ 11, and was told we haven’t accepted that for a while. The other lady mentioned, do you have the $ 5 coupon, I said no, but I came because of the facebook advertisement. Then as I was going to pay, they finally told me «oh our internet is down we can’t accept credit cards». I don’t carry cash and would’ve picked up some before I came; fine, no problem, I offer to drive 2 blocks to get cash for the $ 17 haircut. I return, thinking they would try and compensate for the inconvenience, maybe not an $ 11 haircut, but maybe $ 5 off the next one or something like that? Nothing. I was expecting to get a neck shave, talcum powder, the typical barber experience, and instead got a mediocre $ 17 haircut in 10 minutes, $ 3 service charge for taking cash out, and a slight headache. I am not one to write negative reviews, especially in light of so many positive reviews, but this was a very negative experience with inexperienced owners.

This place is hard to find as it’s new so don’t trust your GPS. I did manage to find it after being turned away by another barber shop for no appointment. I got a trim at a pretty standard rate by a woman stylist who conversated a wee bit but she wasn’t overly friendly, not rude either though. This place is a bit away from where I live and work and I see no reason that I’d be likely return here unless maybe I find a coupon or something. However it’s an acceptable place to get a trim if you decide you need one and don’t have an appointment.

I’ve been going to Not Your Daddy’s Buzz Cuts since September, so I have been there 6 times. Its refreshing change from the chains, the first few times I got a hair cut from the owner, it was good, consistent and grew in well! What else do you want!.. every-time since then it has been with someone new but I’ve had the same experience. I fully recommend you try!

I was urged to try not your daddy’s buzz cuts after several bad experiences with a larger barber shop on Polaris pkwy. I’m glad I stopped in and will make this my regular barber. I was most impressed with the attention to detail and the overall experience. This is a well run shop that provides a grade A experience and awesome customer service. Give them a try!

It was time for my shearing before I go grizzly for another Winter season and I have been searching for a close by barber for many years. I’ve done the chain places with ok results and mediocre service at best, so I was happy to see a new barber open in my neighborhood this year. This place sits on the second sharp corner off High street on East Wilson Bridge road in a small house that has hosted a barbershop for many years but is now under new local owners. IF you can find the AAA, you’ll find this place that sits in the shadow of it’s building. I placed a call to see if I needed an appointment but for the most part they offer walk-in service but you can call ahead an hour to be put on the list if needed. While I was never in this place under it’s last owners, the new owners have put a lot of attention in the detail of making this a friendly, welcoming place. The lovely Maggie took the time to give me a proper to the scalp buzz cut then did the extra job of giving the ‘stache and goatee a trim and my forever unruly eyebrows evened up. I didn’t opt for the affordable hot towel treatment, mug & brush neck shaves or shoulder massage this visit but I’ll keep in mind come early Spring. One of the personal touches that will keep me coming back here is they offer free neck trim-ups ‘tween haircuts. Overall for my first trip to a new shop I was very impressed by the cut, friendly personal service and clean barbershop and very happy to finally found my head a happy hair home. With the cut I got and $ 2 Valpak coupon my service came to 10 Bucks, not shabby at all compared to the chain cutters.
