We went. Last Sunday with 4 couples, we order the loin of pork special, We waited 2 yes that’s two hours for our food, we spoke to the manager who really didn t have a good reason, We finally got the meal and it wasn’t t what we ordered, it was pork chops and they were raw, we all left hungry and very annoyed,

Nothing special. Since we moved to wurtsboro two years ago I’ve been wanting to go and eat here. We finally went for my birthday and I was disappointed. The food was not up to par but the bill wasn’t small either. Maybe I’ll try this place again in another year and I’ll have a better experience. We did go for lunch when it wasn’t busy so maybe during the night when it’s packed there is better service.

Passing through town and stopped for lunch at Danny’s which appears to be the center of town and center of it all. It was fantastic. The Reubens sandwich was incredible. Our server was Miriam terrific and also Allie was great too.

I’ve looked towards to coming here every 5 years when I go to my college reunion. I was really looking forward to this dinner stop! Unfortunately this time the prime rib was over salted, the meat was tough and had a lot of gristle, and the steak was served cold(I sent it back to be served hot). I’ll come back(hopefully before 5 years) and trust this was an aberration.

So so so very disappointed in this place. I went back and took my family who is visiting from out of town to Danny’s in Wurtsboro. I remember this place being wonderful when I went with my parents as a child and teenager… Boy has it changed. I always remembered the mussels steam pot being amazing! Unfortunately they were out of mussels… And clams… And shrimp… Mussels, That’s the only thing I had a taste for! Whiskey and coke was watery. Also the wings were quite disgusting. They tasted like freezer burn and had a smelly funk about them. The blue cheese was gross, it smells like the refrigerator… As if it was left out in the open in the refrigerator and picked up it’s nasty stench. Asked the served about the French onion soup in place of my mussels. He said, «it’s okay.» So I didn’t order it. I read on Unilocal that the fish and chips here were pretty good. I would like to strongly disagree with that Unilocaler. Fish was overly greasy. The best thing about my experience was the tartar sauce. Overall, very disappointed in what was used to be a delightful outing. Don’t waste your time people.

I went to Dannys to speak to a manager about what took place on Sunday. I can tell you this. I have never in my life experience such complete lack of any customer service in my life. This woman who works there is one of the must rude individuals I have ever encountered. I went in there today to speak to a manager. I did NOT go in there to talk to this woman or to continue any arguements. She had the nerve to say to me.“I thought u were not coming back in here“ Who says that to a repeat customer? This woman kept interrupting the conversation to the person who said they were a manager. She was looking to continue the disagreement. I would not let her. I did tell the so called manager this is exactly how she acted on Sunday. I told them my friend is going to refute the charge on his credit card. Then she started in again. Saying you said the food was good. It was.But you threw away 60% of my meal. Added the terrible service. Then dealing with her attitude and complete lack of any customer service i And I might add, I have recommended this place so many times to other people including my customers. Ive been in there 6 times last 6 weeks. This is how you treat a repeat customer? I wish I had recorded how she was acting and what she was saying. I would have included it in the review. She had the worst attitude and complete lack of customer service I have experienced EVER. I was attempting to speak to this so called manager. Then she pops out and hovers. Then she started in. And would not shut up. If he was a manager, or a decent manager he would have sent her away. To say to me and my friend I THOUGHT U WERENOTCOMINGBACK. I was not there to eat. I wanted to let a manager or owner know what took place. I had no idea she would be there and she could not wait to start. It was like she was on a mission. This person said they were the manager. But he was too clueless to be a manager. My friend agreed. I was there to speak to a manager. This woman shows up and starts right in. Picking a fight. He should have told her to leave but he never did. She would walk away then jump back into the conversation. She was just unbelievable. I have never in my life experienced such a nasty rude person. I will never ever eat there again or recommend it to anyone else. If you are looking to eat in Wurtsboro. Go elsewhere. They do not value you as a customer at all at Dannys.

I really want to like this place, but both times I’ve been there have been very disappointing. My husband and I are usually easy going when it comes to eating out. We understand it can get busy and there are other diners to attend to other than us. But we weren’t thrilled with the dine in experience. Cramped, awkward and the food was mediocre, considering they’re a bit pricey. We tried taking out from the bar the last time, and the food, yet again, were way overpriced for what we received. Maybe we’ll just stick to the drinks next time.

We ate twice at Danny’s during our 3 day trip, both times for a late lunch. The mussels come in a huge pot, there must be like 3 pounds in there. The buffalo wings were good. My hubby had prime rib, and I had to help him finish it, the meat was falling off the bone. The menu has something for everyone, we came here again on Sunday, this time 9 of us, and had steak, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, a bit of everything, all was good.

After a good hike in the area, nothing beats Danny’s. Very nice roadhouse type place on the road to Ellenville. I first discovered this place three years ago. Since then I have visited half a dozen times. Great steaks, fish and chips, burgers, chicken fingers for my son. A fine selection of brews. Couldn’t ask for more.

This is my go-to place in the Mamakating area. It has the feel of an old school tavern where families can gather around a big table and eat while barflies binge at the bar all together in peace and harmony. The waiters and bartenders have a great small town attitude that’s efficient but laid back at the same time. The menu is huge and so are the portions. Pizza, Italian, sandwiches, salads, fish, chicken, appetizers, etc. There’s specials every day. If you can’t find something you’d like to eat here, you are either anhorrexic or too la-di-da for great country pub grub. Some of the negative reviews I read seem like people who probably should stick to Pinkberry or Applebee’s. This is good hearty, guiltless home-made food. The bar is well stocked and they’ll make good cocktails. Not sure about the wine selection because I’ve never bought wine here, but it’s definitely not a wine bar. The beer selection is a little limited, but I still find something to like whenever I’m there. There’s a brighter room in the back that people who don’t like the darker bar area can dine. Not my thing, but it’s there for people who like more light. Great local crowd at the bar. It can get interesting if you feel like striking up a conversation. You can also blow your disability checks on Keno all day if that’s your thing.

Nothing fancy, not bad, but not great. The bar is the best part compared to the restaurant. It’s a good stand-by but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

Holly Moly After an arduous drive back from that hell hole, Canada the wife and I bopped into Denny’s for a meal and whoooo hooo The chicken wings sure made me fly and the Irish coffee was beyond pleasant despite wifey’s objection, «isn’t it a little early for a drink?» After looking at your ugly face all day and hearing your back seat squawking, it’s never too early. God everything she does makes my flesh crawl. My dad was right. Anyway… Also try the copious muscles. Devine.

I don’t get it. 30 minute wait on a Thursday for a terrible meal. Is it because there is nothing else to eat in Wurtsboro? Calamari appetizer was a salt lick. Ordered raw clams against my better judgement, I thought they tasted old, my husband thought they were fine. I ordered mussels, they came with the spaghetti dumped over the top of them and a cup of chopped parsley«dumped» on top of the pasta. I had to send the mussels back because they did not prep them properly and I don’t know about you, but I don’t enjoy eating a beach. I hate sending back food but it was inedible. As a replacement I ordered the«stuffed pepper» soup. It was fine once I added salt and Tobasco sauce to it(read«it needed flavor») To their credit, my kid had french fries and they were great, our other guest had the ribeye and he really enjoyed it. My husband had a shrimp caesar salad and the shrimp was way over cooked. The saving grace was our waitress, she was lovely and very accomodating — and apologetic. This place is too inconsistent to bother with. The food is all over the place and not worth the money. Oh, and when we sat down at the bar to wait for our table, the bartender, took my drink order and my husband’s drink order, then walked away leaving our guest who was sitting between the two of us wondering if he was going to get a drink. She couldn’t take three drink orders at once? Feh.

When we wandered in(we were staying up the road, at Honor’s Haven) we were a bit unsure of what we would find, seeing that(from the outside) it looks like a local’s hang-out. But once we went in, we found an amazing menu(with great prices!!), huge portions and a great staff. I can’t wait to go back: D
