Salon Mischa

I have been here twice a year for the past 6 years but felt that I owed them a review after what a great job they did last time I went. My hair was long, blond, thick and tangled last time I went in. I was ready to change my hair completely. You would think I’d be nervous to have them chop 10 inches off and dye it a dark brown. Nope. Completely at ease because track record shows they do an excellent job every time. Theresa cut my hair exactly as I described it and did better than I could imagine. Michelle dyed my bright blonde hair dark brown in one try. It’s even and beautiful. I have gotten an overwhelming amount of compliments and am so happy with my hair! It’s healthy and shines and I just love it. Their prices are very fair for the excellent job they do!!!

I called without an appointment to see if they could fit me in for a trim. They managed to accommodate me within the hour. Teresa was patient, attentive, and gave me a wonderful cut. The staff was very friendly and the salon is adorable. I will be back!

I was in town from San Francisco visiting family and was looking for a place to get a quick haircut. I chose well, my hair looks fantastic! Thanks Teresa! Everyone who works here is friendly and down to earth. Great vintage furniture, very inviting atmosphere. I could see myself lounging on one of these fabulous couches with a cocktail in hand. I received a very professional haircut for a reasonable price, and my flat iron finish kept my wavy hair straight for days. I am loving my new cut!

Salon misha is a wonderful salon Jaime and Teresa have colored and cut my hair, they are both awesome ! I get people all the time complimenting me on my cut !

I split my time between downriver and the northern burbs. One weekend i found myself with some time to kill and in desperate need of a haircut. I checked Unilocal out and saw some good reviews for Salon Mischa. I called them up and they were able to accommodate me within 30 minutes on a Saturday morning. Score!
I arrived and was a little bit alarmed that the façade of the building was PINK, but I walked in and found the décor cute and fun, and not terribly worrisome. Upon arrival I was offered, water, coffee, or a glass of wine. Nice touch. It doesn’t cost much for them to offer, but it makes for a nice impression. I didn’t take any of the options, but appreciate that they offer them.
I’m pretty low maintenance, so I asked the girl who cut my hair (whose name I sadly forget) to cut my hair however she thought would be best, given a couple of things: my hair has been thinning for the last few years due to a medical condition, so I wanted something that didn’t accentuate the thinning nature, and also I wanted to be able to pull it back in a ponytail when I’m feeling lazy. She definitely left it long enough to be pulled back, but the cut itself was a little lackluster. I realize my hair is on the thin side, but the salon I normally go to in Sterling Heights manages to give me a cut that gives my hair some life. This cut didn’t. I will say, though, that the girl who cut it was really friendly.
It wasn’t a «bad» haircut, but it wasn’t one that left me feeling sassier than when I’d walked in. I’d go back in a pinch, but more than likely, I’ll make it a point to book my normal salon.

I am a hairdresser myself and extremely picky about my hair and hair salons. When I walked in the receptionist was super friendly and greeted me right away. Teresa did my hair and did a fantastic job! She took the time to really figure out what I wanted and the results were just that! She was also very friendly and made me feel great! Loved her, Love this salon, will definitely be back!

I apologize in advance– I don’t know the names of the two ladies who have done my hair and waxes so far.
The salon is cute and funky for the downriver area. Not very big, but the staff is always friendly and they carry a variety of products. Street parking and a lot across from the salon.
The lady who has given me eyebrow waxes has done a decent job. It’s $ 12 and they do them back at the shampoo bowl. I’ve gone 3 times since I’ve moved to the area, and I already have a shape, so I merely need them to be cleaned up. This last time I noticed she missed areas. I missed it when I was there because I don’t think the growth was fully in yet, but now (a week or two later) there are areas where new growth is coming in. I have always been able to go almost 4 weeks btwn visits, so I know she must have missed these areas. Not a huge deal, but I think she needs to take a little more time– I am annoyed that after a week or two I already need to go back. Oh– you generally don’t need an appt for a quick wax. They’ve gotten me in twice now with just a quick heads-​up phone call. But now that I think about it, maybe that is why she isn’t spending a lot of time on ensuring my eyebrows are done well– there has always been a client waiting when she is done with me. So maybe she is rushing?
I saw someone else for color. She is younger (but not the owner, Jamie) and has longer hair. Anyway, she was really nice and straight to the point, and knew exactly what to do. Chatty but not TOO chatty, which I like. Small talk is great, but I get uncomfortable when someone talks my ear off the entire time! The results (all over color and partial highlights) were great and a few weeks later and I’m still liking them. I have difficult hair (thick, frizzy, curly) but she was able to do a really good blow out/​style. It was $ 85, which is reasonable. I’ll definitely continue going to her.
Overall I like the salon. It’s a convenient location for me and I like the vibe. It’s not too pricey and everyone is friendly for the most part. I haven’t been to many of the other salons in the area (this one was recommended to me by my Mom and sister when I moved) so I don’t have much in terms of comparison, but I’m satisfied enough with them that I don’t feel it’s necessary.

Heard of this place through a friend. Went there and got my hair cut and styled by Trista. I gotta say, she did a fantastic job. I felt very comfortable in the salon itself with it’s eclectic mix of mirrors and artwork. It’s kind of upscale but down-​to-​earth at the same time. Weird, I know but I liked it. Anyhoo, they offered me wine, coffee, or water upon arrival which was awesome since I had a long day. Wine was great, conversation was great, and I loved my hair cut. I went back a week later to get highlights; used Trista again and she blew me away. It’s been a long time since I have been happy with a dye job and cut so I am thrilled to have found this place. I’ll be back for sure!

I needed a haircut and a brow wax … desperately, so I made an appointment at Salon Mischa — a friend told me the place was good. When I walked in, I was offered the option of water, coffee or wine! I love this place already.
I am very picky about my hair, yet I rarely ever go to the same place twice — very few people ever seem to get it right.
Well, by the luck of the draw, Nancy was available when I had time to get my hair cut. She spent about 5 or 6 minutes discussing with me what I wanted and gave her opinion WHEN ASKED! My hair is not the easiest to cut, it is thick and flippy in certain areas and baby fine in others so I often get a mediocre at best haircut. In addition to that, my brows are not the easiest to wax either (I have a scar going right through my left brow).
She got my eyebrows perfectly symmetrical! Yay! And my hair … oh, my hair! Once I put my glasses back on, I was in love! It was probably the best haircut I remember having. I think I have gotten 7 or 8 compliments on my hair (and it was just cut today!). Even one of my classmates who is from NYC asked me where I got my hair cut. The best part: the cut was $ 35 and the wax was $ 10! I will definately be returning.
