I could not believe that my lake perch dinner was from a box of frozen pre breaded fish. With all the great fish fry’s we have on Fridays in the downriver area I don’t believe I’ll be back for fish here!

Reasonable prices and the only place downriver I’ve found for decent quality fresh fish. Cheap fish and chips to go which is always nice.

Weyland’s is a little hole in the wall fish store with a bank of deep fryers. No seating but a mile away from the park. Staff is not really professional and was eating their lunch while cooking mine. Don’t worry, germs can’t survive the hot oil, and at least they were eating fish and not McDonald’s! I tried the walleye dinner and got 2 big fillets, fries, slaw and hushpuppies for only $ 6.50. Great value, the box weighed at least 2 pounds. I also had a side of fried clams. The fish was excellent and fresh with a thin tasty breading. The crinkle-cut fries and clam strips were frozen and boring, but the hushpuppies are homemade and great. Their cocktail sauce is really good too. I probably would not buy raw fish here. It’s all in fillets so I’m not sure how fresh it really is.

I live in Wyandotte so wanted to buy local and it was a nice bike ride. Staff was fairly rude. Making disparaging snorting sounds when asked questions. Remarkably unhelpful and not very knowledgeable about their product. The food didn’t look any fresher than a megamart. I bought 20 clams 5 were dead when I cleaned them at home. I will not waste my time or effort making a special trip to shop here again.
