I called yesterday afternoon and we agreed to continue this business. Jay came by and inspected our house and found the mice did not come back after the first visit 6 days ago.

They gave a me call telling me that «It’s your fault not to leave a voice mail, I wanted to teach you a lesson that you should not leave messages on my personal phone. We don’t want to do business with you and we will get our baits back and return your check.»
I said «I won’t change my comments on Unilocal if you return my check». He said «I don’t care, you keep on talking about Unilocal review as if you feel that you are special being the first reviewer of our business. We have been thriving for 35 years without Unilocal»
As I mentioned in my first review. I mentioned Unilocal to Shay mainly because I was surprised to find no reviews for their terrific business. Well, I feel bad now because they did some work for exterminate the mice in our house but they decided to return the check and not get paid for their work. I do believe the experience would be good if it were not for this miscommunication.

Unfortunately, I need to update the review to the negative direction.
My friend recommends this business to me giving me Shay’s personal phone number (I did not know it was a personal phone number until I called). I called him and he told me I need to call the office number listed in the Unilocal page to schedule an appointment. Then I called that number to schedule appointment. Everything went on Pretty well for the first visit. But when it comes to the come-​back visit (common for a mouse pest control), something happened.
I made appointment for Monday (1÷11÷15 10 to 12 pm). But I wanted to ask if I can change it to Saturday (1÷9÷15). I called their office on the Previous Friday (1÷8÷15 10 to 11 am) three times during business hours, but all calls went to the voice mail directly. Since I want to inquire their availability on Saturday, I texted Shay’s personal number with the following message:
«Hi Shay, this is XXX from YYY. I currently have an appointment for your come-​back visit 10 to 12 on Monday. But something comes up for Monday and I wonder if I can reschedule it to tomorrow Saturday before 10 am. I called the 972 442 6416 three times last hour and all went to the voice message directly. Thanks.»
I got no reply in text or call from 1÷8÷15 11:27 am (when I texted) and now 1÷11÷15 10:45 am, I think he ignores such message as he told me «that’s my personal number and you need to call 972 442 6416 for appointment».
I was waiting for him at home this morning (1÷11÷15), but I did not see Shay. When I call 10 minutes ago, I was told that they thought I want to reschedule and thus they cancelled the original appointment for Monday. What a surprise for me! I asked why there was such a change that I did not know of.
Shay told me «You are just like any other customer. You are not special. You need to leave a voice mail like every other customer and my personal phone is not an option.» I just said OK and reschedule it to tomorrow (1÷12÷15 12 to 2 pm.) since i feel that our conversion was going nowhere.
But why would you cancel an appointment if you said the personal phone number is not an option? Am I wrong to assume the appointment would not be changed since the business has not communicated with me about any change: no call, no text for my inquiry?
BTW, if Shay reads this public message, maybe you can reply with your side of story if you care about online reviews. Correct me if anything I said here is not true.

I was surprised that I found no review for this business when my friend recommends it. It’s a family owned business and the guy shay seems pretty reliable. I called them because I found some black droppings in my house these days. I tried to set up several traps and baits but the mice in my house did not buy it. I can still hear them walking in the attic during the night.
Shay checked my house inside out to look for potential holes that mice might get in. He located several potential holes. He told me to use metal tape and foaming insulation to seal those holes properly. And he placed several baits in the attic, the garage and outside the house. He would come back 3 days later to check how the baits go. Let’s see if we can exterminate those mice.
