Tacos El Ranchero

Brian and Shawna already nailed it. Two of my regular spots were inexplicably closed on a Saturday, then I took a wrong turn and ended up driving past here. A few tables, no restroom, and no printed menus, but you can’t go wrong! So much food I had to save my second taco for later.
Quality, quantity, price, all excellent!

As a former restaurant owner from the Chicago area, I’ve been to and dined at some great places. I have extremely high standards and expect a lot! But this place is tops on my list!
Tacos El Ranchero is about the size of a shoebox. It’s so tiny that I can’t figure out how they can fit a kitchen in the place! But the food they sell is probably the best Mexican food I’ve had… even in Chicago. I’ve actually been to Tacos El Rancho several times in the past week. I can’t get enough of it.
The employees speak some English, so you can place an order w/​o much problem. But saying a few things like «gracias» (thank you) or «de nada» (your welcome) will give you little extra love from the employees.
About the food: Portions are big, quality of ingredients is excellent, and the little extras provided with the meal are excellent (limes, grilled jalepenos, grilled green onions, radishs, etc.).
The food is prepared authentically w/​a few twists and the seasoning is perfect. If you order items ala carte, $ 10 should be more than enough for 2 people!
You can expect good service and good food, but do not expect fine-​dining here. Even though this is place is a dive, it is clean. I know that the cooks understand safe food handling because there are at least two certified employees (I saw the certificates and know the company that certified them).
I’m not sure if they know me yet in the place b/​c I have seen different employees each day. But you can tell them the gringo from Chicago recommends this place!

If you want the real thing, this is it. Big, over stuffed tacos, sunflower juice, roasted peppers… oh my!
