U-Haul Moving & Storage at Burlingame

First of all, when we initially reserved our truck it was not at this location. We initially made the reservation at a location closer to our home, AND was given a confirmation number for pick up at the closest location. The day before our scheduled pick up we had a call informing us that we would not be able to pick up at that location due to the store being closed. When we asked if they would be adjusting our mileage due to THEIR relocation we were told NO. WTF?! You push us out an extra 10 miles on a truck we are being charged by the mile for. What happened to customer service?
Additionally when I we picked up the truck I placed the «DEPOSIT» on a credit card intending to pay for the rental at drop off with a different card. Once the truck was checked in I asked to pay for the rental with a different card and was told we paid for the truck when we picked it up earlier that day. Do people not know that a deposit is something you get back when you return whatever it is you are using? The deposit is just to be sure you don’t return the property all beat to hell and with an empty gas tank. That is the definition of a deposit. A sale on the other hand is PAYMENT for services, goods, merchandise, etc. Then I was told that if I wanted to place it on the card I intended to, not only would it take 5 business days for the $ reversal, but get this… She would have to re-​rent the truck to me. WTF, once again.
That is the A, B, C’s of how you run a business.
Maybe she was afraid she would run late to her New Year’s Eve party if she would’ve done the right thing and actually gave half way decent customer service.
I suggest Budget for our next trip. Do yourself a favor and shop around. If you do go with uhaul, be prepared to pay & receive below standard customer service.

We have used this location three times now for our moving/​trailer needs. This Uhaul has the BEST customer service! Stacey helped my dad and I today & he was just the nicest, hardworking gentleman. I wish customer service was this fantastic everywhere! Thank you Stacey S. You truly were the highlight of our day!
