So far this year year I’ve stayed in about 37 budget hotels around the country. Price was always a major factor. This hotel was by far the worst of the bunch, and the only hotel all year where I checked out early because the experience was so bad. Although the hotel is sold as a former Best Western(a generally reputable brand), our experience was quite distant from the typical Best Western quality level. There are very few reviews published on the Internet for this hotel; my hope is that this review will help rectify this. We got a non-smoking two bed room and stayed in September 2011. Pros: Certainly one of the cheapest hotels in the area, significantly cheaper than other hotels of higher quality. For those with low standards, this could still be the best option. My stay was $ 56/night including tax. Cons(in no particular order): 1. Room had an awful smell, including a strong smoke odor. Although sold as a non-smoking room, the tobacco smell kept us awake at night and left our hair and belongings smelling like smoke, even after one night. 2. The towels, sheets, bedspread, and carpet were all unacceptably dirty. The towels and sheets were stained, and the carpet was so bad that you could stain your socks by walking from one end of the room to the other. 3. The mattresses were encased in plastic, which created loud noise after the slightest movement. This also gave us concerns that the hotel had experienced trouble with bed bugs, but had not taken the necessary response. 4. The faucet in the bathroom dripped constantly and loudly all night. 5. Both the toilet, shower, and shower curtain were filthily stained. The shower curtain rod was falling off, so that it was difficult to keep the curtain in place. 6. The website reports that there is a «Laundromat 1 Block Away», in reality it is half a mile away. 7. The hotel is located adjacent to Main Street, a divided highway, and there is lots of traffic noise in the rooms. 8. Indifferent and often unreachable staff makes it difficult to rectify the foregoing. Overall advice: If you have the option, spend the money and stay elsewhere.
