Dinner March 18 Great place for a family dinner. Very friendly staff and great variety of food. Really liked the egg rolls and the Almond Chicken and General Tso’s were good. The chicken in both dishes didnt appear to be the frozen full of breading packaged stuff most places serve. Didn’t care for the Fried Pork Dumplings. All portions were big and the food came out very quick and hot. If in Xenia and in the mood for some quick Chinese, it would fit the bill.

Ordered the Kung poa chicken. It was very good and served at a prompt time. I definitely recommend this restaurant

What a let down! This used to be the best Chinese food around… What happened? I gave it two stars only because of the service. The food was horrible, it was like they used completely different recipes and the place is pretty run down to put it nicely. Try it yourself but I definitely don’t recommend it.

Xenia China Inn is my favorite local Chinese place. I don’t live in Xenia, but I work there, so generally when I order food there it is for lunch. The General Tso chicken is the best in the area. I ask for it «extra hot» and they always add the extra hot oil that I enjoy. I also love their Egg Drop soup, which includes fresh mushrooms and green onions– most other places that I’ve been do not have the added veggies. Prices are the same as other Chinese restaurants in my area– about $ 7 for an average lunch meal. Portions are large. I usually make two lunches out of one entrée. Each lunch comes with the entrée, a chicken wing, and a wonton. I always get take-out, so I can’t rate the service inside. I’ve chatted with the servers at the counter on various pick-up occasions(you can either walk inside to a special take-out counter, or drive up to a window) and found them to be very friendly. I call ahead, and my order is always ready within ten minutes.

Excellent food! Takeout is awesome but the inside seating is great as well. Highly recommend!

I have been in twice since it re-opened, and have no inclination to return. The décor reeks of cheap, with plywood ‘booths’ and little to no attempt at decoration. The service is mediocre at best, it used to be quite good. The hot and sour soup is a hit, some of the best I have had anywhere. Other menu items, not so much. A plate of chicken fried rice was soggy and stuck together. The Szechuan beef had no detectable heat and little more flavor. The only thing this shares with the former place is the name. What a disappointment. Xenia has so few places with decent food.

My favorite chicken fried rice, crab angles, won ton soup in the Dayton area. Glad that they have reopened. Food’s the same, atmosphere not so much. Still one of my favorites. Worth the drive!

I’m so glad they reopened! Their location is kind of hard to find(their old location was on west main st in Xenia), but it’s still the same great Korean family run business, the previous owner retired and sold the land to Walgreens about a year ago and passed the business down to her son, Aaron. I love how this restaurant is family oriented, you can really tell how much love goes into the cooking. It’s still the same great recipes they use for the food, great service, and now with a better atmosphere! Totally kid friendly too ;) And you can definitely notice that it’s quality over quantity, but their portions are really big and filling too! I recently moved to Hawaii and none of the local Chinese food places compare to Xenia China Inn, I still get cravings for their dumplings… mmhmm. :) But onto the food! Their jade scallops are to die for and their dumplings are A MUST. The jade scallops came served in a large platter with a a light creamy sauce and with snap peas(I think?), the presentation was really beautiful too. I wish I could have taken a picture before I ate it all! Talk about a food orgasm! Ooo and their wonton soup is really delicious too on a cold rainy day. Bottom line, HUGE portions under $ 10.00, no matter what you choose you can’t go wrong! A great place to bring your friends, family, kids too! EDIT: here’s their menu!

Update– the last time we went, we were very disappointed in the quality compared to how it used to be :-( This is the best Chinese restaurant i have ever eaten at… My husband and I tried MANY different places and no one compared to the fanastic prices and food that Xenia China Inn has to offer. Their sweet and sour sauce is DIVINE. Crab Rangoon, fantastic and hot sour soup is wonderful! My husband gets the schezuan chicken and LOVES it. SO glad that they reopened!!!
