This has to be better than the service they had when I lived there. I was in Kittitas, WA and it couldn’t be worse than in 1999. I was forever trying to get good picture on cable and internet was nonexistant. Praise God they upgraded to new options!!!

Internet Service is great and the best you will get in this area… PRICE after PROMO is waaaaay to expensive. They have a monopoly in the Selah Wa area, so they will not budge on asking for a price decrease.

Charter cable is garbage. I have only had it for about a month and a half and I don’t like it at all. Every time I am watching TV, so daily, at least once the picture goes all pixelly and I lose sound for a few seconds. It’s not the end of the world I realize, however, it is annoying and shouldn’t happen. Also the DVR is unbelievable, I can’t even count how many times I have tried to record a show or series to watch when I get home from work and it has not recorded. I am from the east coast and maybe it’s just a west coast thing but TV and internet out there is faster and more reliable. Luckily I only will be here another 6 weeks or I would cancel immediately and look for another service.

An update. I called Charter Customer Service a third time and was told the same information that because I am not a new customer, I am not entitled to the lower advertised special. I promptly hung up and called back asking to have my services disconnected(Internet and cable-I previously switched my telephone service back to Century Link). The Customer Service Rep immediately sent my call to another agent who, Voila!, found a better price for all three services for me of $ 105 plus $ 9 tax. The moral of the story is that Charter has a program for established customers who threaten to remove their services and go to other vendors. Even though this price is authorized for one year only, the CSR advised me that next year if I tell them that I am switching my services to other providers, they will research another ‘deal’ for me. I have neither the time nor the desire to play mind games just to get a more reasonable price for services.

I had really great service through Charter. I had a 2 year contract for high speed Internet for $ 29.99/month. I consistently saw download speeds in excess of 15mbps — my service was never interrupted in the year I lived here. I’m moving halfway through my contract to an area Charter doesn’t serve. The customer service agent I spoke to took care of making sure I wouldn’t be charged for canceling early before I could even mention it. Disconnecting was simple — the entire process took less than 5 minutes and I received some of the best customer service I’ve had in ages. As a gamer, bittorrent user, and general geek I will miss Charter when I move.
