Joe’s Yard Service

Joe’s Yard Service was recommended to me from a friend therefore I was hopeful. Joe was very quick to respond and come up and get an estimate, however he required me to write out my own estimate, etc which I thought was unusual as this is not my business but rather his. We put half down and the job was to start the next day. Again, Joe and his crew were quick to come up and start work the next day but as the work progressed we were approached to pay more money and told him that that was not in our estimate. Then at the end of the day we received a flurry of texts requesting the second part of the payment as he wanted to go out of town that night. We were in the hospital visiting a friend and had to get Joe to relax. When we arrived home we saw that the job was not complete therefore we had to contact the service to finish the job as agreed to. He offered to come up the next day then rescheduled, and then offered to come up Sunday and was an hour late. When he did come up, he complained to my husband that part of the problem was that his crew was drinking beer and not working. He said he terminated them… I would certainly not recommend this service again as it was too bumpy and although Joe is a very nice person, we were not impressed with his work, crew, and lack of professionalism.

Second time using service. Lack of oversight and attention to detail this time around. Owner did not provide written cost estimate with line items, and detail of what was needed to be completed. His staff also lacked details/​instructions and equipment to perform job adequately. I had to provide a wheelbarrow for job. Not sure I can recommend this service based on the recent experience.
