The Gist: Serving food from a can? Won’t give you their Wi-Fi password? In the year 2016, this restaurant is an utter embarrassment to the restaurant industry. I am visiting from out of town and my cell phone has almost no signal yet this restaurant will not give you their Wi-Fi password. I know this is a small town, but Wi-Fi access in 2016 should not be restricted to customers when they clearly have connectivity. The waiter said: «…they won’t even give it to me.» When I asked about their corned beef hash, I was told it was from a can. From a can? Really? Why even put it on your menu? If you can’t fry pre-cooked potatoes and corned beef, and choose to charge $ 10 for a canned product, you don’t deserve to call yourself a restaurant. The waiter was friendly. This restaurant is the very definition of podunk. Avoid.

Waffles Café is keeping alive the traditional good — old-fashioned comfort food breakfast diner alive and well. This is a place that will greet you with a cup of coffee and offers some delicious waffles. I have a meat-lovers skillet and be warned that this isn’t a place you go to if you are counting calories. This is a place you would go on your cheat day and just endulge yourself with great textbook home cooked breakfast. The staff refill your coffee cup before you even ask and they are always cheerful. It’s easy to see why this place has so many regulars. This place does get busy and sometimes parking can be limited. Be smart and don’t go during the breakfast rush. Have an early or late breakfast here.

Came back to a disappointing meal. Scrambled eggs are supposed to be yellow and fluffy, not brown and flat. It was just and overcooked dried out chopped up omelette. Over easy eggs should not have crusty brown whites. The food should have never been brought to the table and no one came back to even check. We ate around the eggs and no one even asked, just dropped off a check. They were busy, but that is no reason to serve food that doesn’t even look good. What a shame. Really have to rethink my original posting.

WOW took the kids here for a little gluten free breakfast the food was amazing! The gluten free waffles and Gluten free french toast were some of the best the kids had ever had.

We were looking for a new place for breakfast and this place was reviewed well. The service was attentive and quick to fix any issues we had. Over all the food was prepared quickly and to order. Nothing really exceptional with the menu, but some good choices for breakfast/brunch. I would of rated 4 stars had they gone out of the way for us that day. Definitely a good option if you are in the south seattle area.

I have always loved this place since I first moved to Yakima. The burgers are amazing, and the country fried steak is to die for, however… STAYAWAY from the crêpes. The ones I got were 8.00 bucks. Had no cream cheese inside, and my fruit filling was so watery it was sitting in a puddle of liquid. Not to mention my crêpes were ice cold. The décor of the restaurant was very very out dated by like 50 years. The tables beware have gum under them, the windows were dirty, and the tables and booths were chipped and fabric torn. Fans and vents were dirty with dust and grime. However kudos to the bathroom being clean and smelling good, which is a rare treat for the area the place is located, which is where the mission and all the bums hang out. The staff was amazing. Our waitress Jen was so nice, and willing to make our time here worth everyone moment. We were created warmly the moment we walked in and sent off with beat wishes as we left. So in the end I would say this place is a great place to eat with friendly people. Though just be careful with what you order.

**Disclaimer: my husband and I worked in food service for years so we have pretty in tune with good service, bad service, and an understaffed restaurant(which is no fault of the employees even if the service suffers.) So we went here for my birthday as a tradition almost every year since I was little. They have always been great! This year however was not :/we were told the wait was for about 20 min for our party of 6. They were pretty busy so we expected to wait but there wasn’t any room to stand inside and the little waiting room had no heat! After about 20 min, They offered us 2 booths near each other but I rarely get to see my family and I wanted us to sit together on my birthday. Well 10 min later they offered another 2 separate booths, and said it’d be another 15+ min for a table together… ok so, I get that they can’t just make people get up and leave, but I would appreciate being quoted a time that’s relatively correct so we may have gone someplace else! We accepted the booths and sat separate. The service was pretty quick, but our server was very loud, kept yelling at other servers, and when another large party came in and was holding the door open(letting in a TON of frozen air for a good ten plus min) and when my father was asking her to see if she could ask the gentlemen standing in the doorway to move, she turned away from him my father and said. no shouted.“well that’s the only way warm air gets into the little room!” *shocked face* I looked at my husband, dumbfounded she just did that. And looked at my poor 90 year old grandmother shivering… So my husband had to go and close the door.(After the server shouted for them to move) Anyway, the food was ok, waffles were delicious as usual! Which is why they get 3 instead of 2. Needless to say, we will have a new tradition for my birthday!

I was staying at the Days Inn across the parking lot and on t here signs it states Yakima’s best waffles. Thought I would give it a try. Service was quick. I had 2 eggs and a waffle. Filling without over doing it. $ 7.50 A FAIR price. The Waffle was good and they do have a great variety of menu items. Just remember this places close at 230pm. It appears to be a breakfast place. I’ll be back.

Loved the waitresses, this was the best part of the meal I thought. We split a lemon waffle with berries and whip cream on top. It was good, but the berries were frozen and the lemon was that stuff you find in lemon-filled donuts. Fresh fruit always wins, they should never use anything else. For breakfast I had eggs benedict which came with hash browns. The ham was tasty, the egg was done properly, but they drenched it in poorly made sauce which ruined everything, it would have been so delicious had the sauce been correct. The hash browns were undercooked and could have used a bit more flavor. The coffee could have been served hot. Like I said, I loved the waitresses, they were really great and the food overall was ok. Would I go back? I might just to try the sausage and bacon I saw on other plates.

I stayed the night at DaysInn right next to this place. The food was very good, but the only one thing makes me not wanna to back is THESERVICE. When we walked in, the table just got wiped off but it was still so dirty with some pieces of food left on the table, and my chair. The coffee mugs were brought out with lipstick stains on both, and when we told the server, she did not even say sorry, just took and walked away with them. We had to wait for more than 20 mins for food to arrive. Even though we had really good food, couldnt walk out with satisfaction.

We are RVing from Seattle to Denver this summer and spent a few days in Yakima. I found Waffles on Unilocal and we went for Sunday breakfast. Wow, great breakfasts and a lot of food. The wait staff is quick and always around if you want something. The gal who waited on us was very good. I’d go again and I recommend this restaurant completely.

Popped in here on the way to Mt. Rainier. Fast, tasty, great service. The waitress knew everyone coming through the door. Will definitely be back the next time through.

The menu is incredible, the portions are huge and the food is great. I’m going to have to come here again just to try some of the other items on the menu. I had the ½ order of the Meat Lover’s Omelette with a waffle. It was very good.

I came here because this place happened to be the closest to YTC(Yakima Training Center). I hop was 35 minutes away. I had the stuffed crepes with strawberries I was immensely displeased although they have good bacon but they did not cook it to my specifications(extra crispy). Overall an ‘OK’ breakfast. They also have an awkward way of paying you have to stand in a line while you are in everyone’s way. Don’t know if I would come back.

Staying at the day inn and decided to walk across the parking to give it a try. Seemed very busy as I walked in but was seated with in a couple minutes tops. Waiter was on top of it and took care of us and the food was definitely good. I had the French toast
