My friend Julie and I visited this wonderful quilt store yesterday for the first time. We were on our Annual Autumn Yamhill County Yarn and Fiber Pilgrimage, and this was our last stop after leaving Newberg and McMinnville. The drive out was absolutely beautiful, with fall colors everywhere to gawk at. We found the shop without any difficulty, and walked in with great anticipation. The first thing I saw was a ginormous kitty. He is huge(24 pounds), and the delightful owners told us how he barely escaped getting mowed in a field as a kitten. On the counter were two 4-month old kittens all snuggled up together, and I knew immediately that this was my kind of quilt store. Because whats a quilt store without cats? The selection of fabrics is wonderful; the same goes for patterns and quilting ideas. Theres felt for all kinds of projects as well. Julie found some adorable snowman fabric while I walked around in awe of the quilts hanging everywhere. Of course, I kept petting the cats; how could I not? I took several photos inside the shop(with permission) and wished I had time to do some quilting. Today I bought a couple of fat quarters and want to come back and do more shopping at another time. Both owners were extremely friendly, and we got to watch«Mom» doing some long arm quilting. No computer for her! She was doing a wonderful leaf design all freehand. We were amazed at her talent. As we left, we just stood and looked at the view and listened to the exquisite quiet of the surrounding valley. It was a feast for our eyes inside the shop and outside as well. Carolina B. is right: the view alone feeds your creative soul. The only suggestion I have would be for the owners to install a railing at each set of stairs. While theyre not steep or high, on rainy days it would be nice to have something to hang onto going up and down if shoes or stairs were slippery. Itd also be handy for people with knee problems, etc. who need that extra support using the stairs. Thatd make it five stars for sure.

This is a quaint little country shop. We love making a day of it to come visit. They are very friendly — the shop is well stocked for its size — and the fabrics are fun and lively. They offer free classes… and if you buy a book you get a free fat quarter. When we went they were selling 10 fat quartes for 10 dollars. Great deal! The setting, in which the shop sets, is true country peace and beauty. It alone feeds your creative soul.
