Anthony’s Closets Shower Doors & More

An excellent experience. We had an Armoire (Wardrobe) installed in our NYC Condo in January 2016. The service from start to finish was awesome. One phone call to set up a meeting with the designer, Diana was on time, knew their products, provided visual examples and had excellent ideas. The unit was custom built and still took less than 2 weeks to be installed. Installation was again on time and very proficient.
Our doorman even commented on the professionalism of the installers at Anthony’s Custom Closets.
Clearly, a very pleasant experience.

The lies begin on their website: «At Anthony’s Custom Closets customer satisfaction is our main objective.»
Their objective is money — and they don’t care what it takes to get it.
My story: in January 2007, they put together a custom shower door plan for us. We signed off on it. The door delivered for installation was not the door we ordered. The designer blamed the installer, before telling us «I changed it because I knew what you could and couldn’t have.» Such was my disgust that we abandonned the project (we still don’t have a shower door) and ACC said they’d cancel the contract. Case closed, or so we thought.
Eight months later, a «collections officer» calls, saying they’d been calling us repeatedly (another lie) to collect on the owed money. Rather than pay this alleged balance, I suggested we salvage uable materials and fabricate the necessary new parts, with me cutting a check for the new pieces. Clearly, they rather make more money on a full job, and create a satisfied customer in the process, no?
Apparently, they’d rather play Tony Soprano. I’ve dug in my heels.
DO NOT USE THEM.
UPDATE June 2009: Now they’re suing us. BEWARE.
UPDATE August 2009: After two court appearances, WE WON. JUSTICE PREVAILS!
