I was excited to use a small, local, woman-owned and run business to make a cushion for my window seat. On 3 occasions we met to discuss the project. She quoted me the same price 3 times. On the day I picked up the window seat cushion, the price had doubled. When I pointed this out, she became defensive and told me the amount she quoted was an «estimate» and didn’t include labor. I strongly advised her to be more clear, accurate and honest with her customers in the future. I should have gotten her price quote in writing. I was suckered by a little old lady…
