I love this place.
Kate cleaned up the mess of a cut I had and made my hair behave so well!
Amazingly friendly staff kept the conversation going and interesting.
Scalp massage, shampoo, conditioner, cut blowout and style all for a more than fair amount. Did I mention the scalp massage?
The products they use smell fantastic and left my hair super shiny. I believe the products are cruelty free also, which is an animal lover bonus.
The ambiance is super fun and kitschy. Reclaimed pieces set with gorgeous antique plush couches.
Super close to everything Ybor, but far enough off the main path you aren’t overrun with traffic.
This will become my go to for hair from now on.

Was hoping to find a forever salon in my new neighborhood but alas, I will not ever be going here. Woke up today feeling a little sick and called to tell them I needed to reschedule. After a few hours was feeling much better and had no fever (doctor has said I’m not contagious) so I called to get my appt back and they told me they would not be able to take me because I had claimed I was sick. Seriously. The most rude situation ever! I would have been a regular but now I’ll have to take my business to another salon.

They make my wife tolerable! :D lol! Lots of talent here.

Every six weeks I go visit BPHG and Mackenzie for a superior hair care experience! She is creative and flexible, and helps me come up with a great look that’s great for me! Love her and the whole place!

I’ve returned to the Bobby Pin Recently after trying other salons and stylists in the Bay area, and I’m so glad that I did! Kate is awesome — she has always given me great cuts, even when I didn’t know what I really wanted, or while growing out and older style… and she is truly gifted when it comes to finding the best color for her clients! Not only is the staff amazing, you are guaranteed to have great conversation and lots of fun while at the Bobby Pin!

The Bobby Pin Hair Gallery is AS GREAT as it gets. Daniel has transformed my hair from just ok to AMAZING!!! They have such a warm, friendly atmosphere, I really enjoy my time there. Daniel has a passion for hair & it comes across in many ways, he LISTENS to what your concerns are, educates you and really focuses his attention on what he is there to do… AWESOME HAIR!!! For the first time in my life, people stop me and compliment me on my hair & I send them to The Bobby Pin, because everyone deserves GREAT hair!!!

Amazing service, amazing stylists, amazing cut! After being burned by a less-​than-​ideal haircut at a chain cuttery, I was timid about trying out a new place. I also had very little ideas on what would look good. Danny understood this and used his expertise to help create a stylistic and modern cut for me. I was hooked after the first cut, and return there for all my styling needs! I recommend this to everyone, male and female.

Having just retuned to Tampa from Los Angeles I can absolutely say — The Bobby Pin is one of the best salons nationwide. Kate Houston is an amazing colorist and stylist. She always takes a consultative approach while at the same time provides her own input, which is always welcome. Kate is always encouraging me to try new things with color and cut, which can be tricky with fine hair. Being one who is adventurous with my hair, I find every salon experience with Kate to be exciting ! I am not always sure of what I want when we start my appt but I always trust Kate — and sure enough the final look is fantastic. Rest assured that Kate will make you look amazing. Thank you Kate!

I went and saw Mackenzie after she came and visited my sororities chapter the other week, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. First of all, the price was fantastic. The amount of work that I had done, for the price that I was charged was nothing short of incredible. And as far as Mackenzie herself goes, she did an amazing job. In the matter of just one appointment we took my very dark reddish hair to a warm light brown/​dark blonde. This is just one of many steps back to getting me blonde and I’m thrilled to have Mackenzie take me back to blonde! My hair, which went through a lot, still feels very soft and isn’t at all damaged like you’d expect it to be.
The shop itself has a very cool vibe to it, and was also extremely clean which is always a good thing. I think as far as the location goes, the fact that the salon had their own LIGHTED parking lot was very welcome. I will be coming back for sure!

Terri Hudson is awesome! She’s fun and listens to exactly what you want. The salon itself has a bunch of funky, fun décor and everyone is friendly. The private parking lot is super-​convenient and rare, in Ybor.

Love Kate! This salon was recommended to me by a friend, and I have not been disappointed. Kate is my stylist, and she always talks with me in depth before touching my hair to make sure we are clear on what she should do. The salon recently relocated to Ybor, and it is clean with a fun, funky young vibe. All the stylists are friendly and I have never been disappointed with my color or cut. There is plenty of parking, and you may see an occasional rooster stroll by outside! Fun place, great prices, highly recommend.

I love BobbyPin! I had the same stylist for quite a while but I decided that I no longer liked the salon she worked at because of something the owner did. So, sadly, I broke up with her and went on a search for a new stylist, something no girl ever wants to do. Luckily for me my stylist decided to part ways with her old salon and move to the BobbyPin. The minute I walked in the door there I loved it. All the stylists seem happy, laughing and joking with each other. I get my hair done by Terri, she is great with color and cuts. The salon is filled with art, really cool art. And the last time I went in I got the greatest pedicure of my life by Jen. They are moving to Ybor soon and since that is where I live, I’m so excited!

Daniel Roberts did a color, and cut that was a nightmare. I had hot roots that were an orange red. Not only that he wouldn’t correct it for free. He charged me $ 265, for a cut and color, with no styling, and said that it would cost more to correct it. I was really upset to go out looking so bad (I had to wear a hat after that til corrected) He really screwed my hair up with the cut, too. He blew it dry, and said when I asked it would cost more if I wanted it styled. He quoted me around $ 130 to $ 160. This was not a foil, this was just a color on the head, and a cut with no style. He does not give you a receipt, either, and forced me to do the transaction thru his phone.
Conclusion, he thinks he something he is not. He has ruined my hair for quite awhile.
