Very small. Clean. And quiet for the most part. I enjoy the activities they offer. The people seem passionate and hard working. Nice kids section. Poor selection of books. Not enough computers. Printer quality is poor. Hard to get a computer most times. Half the workers are nice. There are some rude older people. Two of the older women(senior citizens) who work there can be nasty towards younger people and I suppose anyone in general. Because I look young I’ve come across some«bad days» for years. They treat you like they work at a bank or prison and you are a theif. You could of sworn they are paying you to be in their pressence. I mean how dare you be under the age of 30 and ask a question or check out a book?! I’ve watched one of these women chew some dude out for watching a movie too long on a computer when no one else wanted it. I call her the warden because she thinks she owns the place. She also gets smart with the kids for being loud, which I admit can be loud. But one time I watched her as three grown people carried on a 10 minute conversation, loudly and she acted like she didn’t hear them. I mean treat everyone equally. The other woman acts like you are trying to get over on her it’s really strange. I mean what type of dishonesty can involve a library card? The younger people(40 ish on down) there are more polite, helpful and accommodating. I enjoy myself there when they are at the desk or helping people. It’s a toss up when I go. Am I going to get quality service or be treated like a burden when entering? Not all of the older people are rude but I can almost guarantee when I get waited on by one of the older women it’s a problem. Every time I want a book I’m interested in I most likely have to order it. I mean come on does Yeadon own anything I’m interested in reading? They have gotten a bit better with books in the past few years but can do a lot better and toss the useless ones they have. It’s usually a long wait for a computer as well. I would much rather go to Lansdowne. At least I know how I’m treated wont be a toss up depending on who is at the desk and I can get a book I want without waiting for them to order it. Overall the library is okay. They try to have activities for the community but the selection of books is poor and some of the staff have permanent attitudes. Because of the quality service and selection of books I give 2 stars. It’s close, clean and quiet with the basic library needs so if you have to, go but don’t expect too much.
