We stopped by around 8:15(after closing), but the owner Michael was wonderful and kindly let us order. The interior of the coffeehouse has great character, which we took in while we enjoyed our tea. We shared the lemon ginger tea and it was fantastic – the flavors were subtle but robust – and I would certainly like to come again the next time I’m in Yellow Springs(maybe during normal business hours next time!).

Love the staff, love the coffee. Gonna miss going here, would stop by 3 – 4 times a week.

Good coffee. I don’t really like the atmosphere here though. I would rather go to Dinos. It’s mainly a tourist and hippie hangout spot. The coffee is very agreeable though…

My four-star rating is solely based on the quality of the coffee. I probably would give it a 4.5. I had a Guatemalan blend that was absolutely fantastic! The nice thing about how they label their coffee is that they give you both the region and the roast-type. The price was reasonable. The atmosphere is probably a bit too wild and funky for me to concentrate, so it would probably not be somewhere I would go to study or work. However, I bet it’s a great fit for many people.

Very eclectic and eccentric in an interesting way! Raspberry iced tea mixed with organic lemonade was yummy!!! Recommend

A very neat place with great décor and good drinks! The service was pretty good, just nothing outstanding. The Spirited Goat definitely has the hippie-vibe to go along with the rest of Yellow Springs. I did think the music was a bit too loud for conversation. Cool couch seating, but there really is not a whole lot of room for many people to hangout.

The Spirited Goat has a great atmosphere, as for customer service non of the employees have been friendly and coffee/drink quality has way too much room for improvement. I had great hopes for this coffee shop and I keep trying, but each time the experience is more disappointing.

I’m a sucker for a trip down memory lane(even if it’s before my time!!), and a GOOD«blast from the past,» with all the added bonuses of today’s coffee-crazed, 12,000 options for caffeine(and caffeine free!) delights, and this gem doesn’t disappoint. On a warm, early spring Wednesday evening, with the mellow notes of a flute and keyboard duet wafting from inside the colorful, cozy, and utterly too cool to be anyplace other than Yellow Springs establishment, we sat outside and watched the world go by(in their Toyota Prius’, Nissan Leafs, classic VW buses, and grandma’s classic Oldsmobile or Buick from 1989…) GREAT coffee straight up for the Mr. and a flavorful Chai tea for me = just right! I also noticed a smattering of yummy sounding sandwiches(a few interesting looking grilled cheese and/or veggie options) and a yummy sounding breakfast bagel. Lots of indoor seating with colorful, cozy mismatched pillows, interesting looking art for sale on the walls, lots of community notes, upcoming events, and a pleasant, easy to talk to owner/manager. Come for the coffee/snacks, stay for the atmosphere! P. S. It was 8pm on a Wednesday, and just about every other«hang out» of this kind(except for full-fledged restaurants) was already closed. Way to go, S.G., and wondering if/when other spots might have later hrs…

A great variety of caffeine offerings. The place is decorated so delightful. Our barista was a real doll. My blended white carmel mocha was delicious! Enjoy!

For any musicians, this place enjoys touring bands. Its a small coffee shop in a small town that gets overlooked for tours, but make the stop. The owner is really nice, the locals are friendly, and the place is cute. Didn’t try any food, but the tea and coffee were good. Open mic is fun and pretty well attended, too.

Can’t say that I’ve ever seen a coffee and tea shop called«The Spirited Goat.» But there’s a first time for a lot of things. Onward, we marched. Good to know before you go: they only accept credit card if your total purchase rings over 4 or 5 dollars. I ordered the café au lait. I felt that it was all right; the coffee was strong but not too strong. It felt lovely during the semi-warm afternoon. We initially met here to catch-up a little and check out downtown Yellow Springs, but we got a little carried away by the colors of this place. This eclectic shop features a blindingly mix and match of purple, green, and pink walls. So, yeah, you can get your daily caffeine fix and enjoy it while sitting in this psychedelic type of space; I felt a little dizzy from the brightness after we conversed for less than an hour. I also noticed that the added splash of patterned shams on the splatter paint benches. Economical. A fun project. Love it. Enjoyed my time at this place because of the colors and how fun it looks. I will probably try out their other specialties some other time, whenever I’m in town!

One of the many great local coffee shops in Yellow Springs. They have good coffee and baked goods and the prices are very reasonable. They have live music, and open mic night. There is an assortment of table and couches and has a fun cozy feel. A fun place to stop as you explore Yellow Springs.

This is what a true coffee shop should look like. Hardwood floors, comfy chairs and couches. Unlike many coffee shops, their small size latte has two shots of espresso. On my most recent visit there was a very accomplished young man playing guitar outside.

Interesting little coffee place. It’s not exactly my «cup of tea.» The coffee was alright(no splenda) and Honestly. well it was a little too Hippie for me. But I can appreciate the crowd they’re going for and their product is decent. They have tons of vegan/healthy/freetrade stylish options. Again, not my cup of tea so only 4 stars(that and again… no splenda), but if that is your type of scene then you’ll love it!

This is a very relaxed eclectic coffee shop. This definitely wasn’t a shop I felt comfortable hanging out in despite the comfy furniture. It seemed they had their regulars and we were outsiders. Ordered my standard latte and it was ordinary, but better than Starbucks. If I was around YS more often and could get in their groove I am guessing I’d stop by and stay a while. It’s A-OK!

Serves a decent espresso and more of an evening place with open mic nights. But morning traffic is slow. Suitable for those who want alone time to read. Not the place to run into friends and kibbutz mornings and afternoons. Prices on snack items would help, and any coffee place should at least sell a couple of newspapers.

I can’t believe there aren’t reviews for this place! It’s a great little coffee shop and we tend to frequent it more than Dino’s. It’s usually not as crowded and the drinks aren’t as sugary which I like. They also have lots of old issue of one of the weirdest magazines i’ve ever read«Fortean Times». Try this place, get an iced mocha, sit on the couch next to goat stuffed animal and read the tattoo magazines or weird ass fortean times. It’ll be a good time!
