Salon Nouveau

I went here for a cut, because my normal stylist was out of town and I needed something with later hours. I was 5 minutes early for my appointment, and was told by my stylist that she was running about 20 minutes behind… That should have been my first red flag. Then when she finally sat me in her chair she did a piss poor consultation. Asked me what I wanted, when I explained I just need my layers blended, since my niece decided to cut a chunk out of my layers, but I wanted to keep the length. She then said o. k and begun to tell me how she’s really great with long hair and that her Dad owns the salon so she’s «got this», she shampooed my hair really fast and got me in her chair again with water running down my back. she then sectioned my hair and began cutting. I knew she messed up the moment she turned me away from the mirror and wouldn’t turn me back until My hair was dry. She chopped it, 6″ gone.
Yeah… She is really good at long hair, at chopping it off! the layers were so heavy, she did no texturizing so I had blunt choppy layers. I should have just waited until my stylist was back in town. I wouldn’t even let her «fix» in fear she’d destroy my hair even more. I went back to my normal salon in McKenna and I have learned my lesson!

I loved my experience here. Very friendly & comfortable environment. My hair has never looked better & I can’t wait to go back. I also used the in house esthetician for waxing & tinting and she is wonderful as well.

I had my first appt with Jade at Salan Nouveau. She is amazing. I have had my hair ruined by so many and she listened to my needs and its absolutly perfect. The color ive been trying to get for 2 years. I hope she posts the before and after. The whole salon is awesome

Absolutely. Love love love this place. Kevin and staff did an amazing job on my bitched hair colour. I recently went to a local salon after moving here from Florida. My hair was originally platinum blonde and had been perfected by my hair dresser in Florida. I was told by another salon my hair could not be the colour I wanted. And that I would never be happy. I was offered my money back which ended up being a bum check. I contacted the owner of the local salon and was basically told… Oh ok. Sowwy. I went to Salon Nouveau and Nancy did my hair. She perfected the colour immediately and was always concerned with me while I was there. I have since been back and each time received superior service as well as superior products. I love this place. I love the people. I love the atmosphere! And I definitely love the décor. I feel like a model every time I go. So much attention and perfection. Wouldn’t go anywhere else ever. Just remember you get what you pay for. My hair is important and makes every girl feel beautiful. So ladies stop splurging on these cheap salons and find Hollywood.

I forged a client relationship with Kevin, the owner of Salon Nouveau after I was referred by Petra, the owner of Naturally Beautiful spa, inside of this shop.
He is an extremely talented Hairstylist and has an incredible knack for complimenting a client’s facial structure with chemical color combinations, cuts and styles! It takes months to get in with him and well worth the wait!

I just went here for the first time, to get a hair cut. Let me say, i came in looking like a curly mess & i came out looking like a hot mess. I would recommend jade, she did my hair very well. I definitely be coming back.

If you want to be blonde, do not go anywhere else. Kevin has worked in Orange County and Seattle and is the very best. He is very current on hair trends and won’t lead you astray. I drive 45 minutes to come to Salon Nouveau, because I haven’t found anywhere that gets it right.

First place I went to today, in attempt to get my eyebrows waxed. Anesthetisian wasnt even there and I was told that she had a whole different phone number, just to reach her. If you advertise waxing services during prime hours, have a waxer available. I ended up leaving and going to the 2^nd nail/​waxing studio, which also received a negative review.

(I have never negated another review on Unilocal,but I have to seriously question the One Star rater. It’s funny how she states she knows how people tend to post on Unilocal,and states that she «isn’t the type» to only post bad things, but that is her ONLY review on Unilocal at all? Weird. Anyways…)
I have been in to see Jade twice. The first time for a cut and deep conditioning, and the second time for a cut and color. The girl has crazy awesome skills and a great eye for what works. She was able to get rid of all the red I had in my hair and give me a beautiful cut and subtle balayage (NOT easy to do on hair that’s been dyed red for years). And I love the cut; it’s really kept a beautiful shape as it’s grown.
They have proper pricing (especially for the great work they do), the salon itself is ADORABLE and super charming, and the entire staff is sweet, welcoming, and engaging.
As long as I live in Yelm, Jade is my new go-​to girl.

This is the best salon I have ever gone to. Hands down. Tasha is my stylist, and I am completely in love with her, the owner, and the shop. It’s decorated in this antique chic that is calming and beautiful. The owner checks in with you and your stylist to make sure everything is going well and is comfortable. I had some nasty extensions taken out on my first visit and was very embarrassed, and everyone was amazingly kind. I feel really lucky that I found this place in such a small town. I get tons of compliments on my hair daily.

Typically I think people with bad experiences post reviews more then Good experiences but I’m not that type of person. I’m going to lay out what was good of my experience along with the million things that went wrong.
Good
The salon was really decorated neat and they were very friendly. Offered beverages to clients and they also have waxing on site. Cut was ok according to what I asked.
Bad
My stylist in particular, Jade, chemical burned my forehead from the color. I had color on my forehead and on the sides of my face and she didn’t get it off… I left the salon looking like I just died my own hair and got it everywhere. I asked for chunky blonde highlights in my dark brown hair and got really thin highlights. My roots are orange now and my under layers blondes are orange. Very amature color job. And it took 3 hours! !!! There were very willing to do what they could to make this right after I left I called because I hadn’t noticed any of this until I was closer to a mirror and realized how terrible it looked. The highlights were in some spots and then I have some spots with none. The highlights also don’t go to the roots they start further down.

I have been a client of Kevins for a little over two years, and I have never been disappointed. I can walk in without knowing what I want, he works his magic and I leave feeling beautiful. He is creative, honest and willing to do whatever it takes to make his clients happy. The other stylists in the salon are equally as skilled and dedicated to quality work! I HIGHLY recommend this salon and Kevin! Best atmosphere, great products, and amazing services.
Also I should add that I get compliments on my hair almost daily!

I got my hair done by Traci. Cut & color was perfect. She does exactly what you ask for. I was very specific about getting more body in the front of my thin hair. She gave me long layers that made my hair feel & look fuller. Plus no more grays.

Salon Nouveau is the only place to get a pedicure! Denbie does an amazing job and her all-​natural pedicures and manicures are really one-​of-​a-​kind in this area. Her knowledge has helped me save my feet! The salon is welcoming and beautiful and you can enjoy your pampering in a comfortable, private room located within the salon.

Love the ambience and all who work there. They have the knowledge and skills to make anyone who walks through their door feel pampered and stunningly beautiful or daringly handsome upon leaving.

Kevin is the best. I’ve tried many stylists, then I used Kevin. My search is over.

Hands down the best salon in the area, most talented stylists and very people friendly environment. Such a fun experience getting to be pampered in such a beautiful place. Hats off to Salon Nouveau, would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
