I can see why everyone complains about this place and whatnot… I agree, the parking lot is a mess, and it doesn’t have the greatest/​freshest selection of items but it certainly gets the job done in terms of groceries. They’ve got your basics, usually well-stocked…can’t complain, it’s just a grocery store.

This has been my neighborhood supermarket since I was a baby. I always liked it because it was clean, convenient and well stocked.
Lately it seems like no one shops here anymore. Because of the decrease in traffic the lettuces and meats are More frequently best buy date for the same day I’m shopping. It never used to be like that. I get lower prices on the lettuce and meat but I’d rather pay regular price for an item that would last longer for me at home in my fridge.
I think the prices are fair, they run great sales.
The shelves are stocked, aisles are clean, staff is available for assistance.
Not sure what’s going on here. Yes, Yonkers is a crowded city with mean nasty people everywhere but I feel like there are less of them in here then at shop rite on tuckahoe road.

My first one star review: Only go here if you’re in a jam and need something. It’s pretty hood and the parking lot is a nightmare. It seems like everyone in here has a chip on their shoulder (employees and shoppers) and there’s just a whole lot of Yonkers attitude going on in here. I can take it and dish it out, but if I had to shop here on a weekly basis, I’d have high blood pressure.

The store is small. Products a bit more costlier than other places. Selection is average. Fruit and veg are so so. Where is the local Walmart super center?

Ok, A & P serves its purpose… sells food, but in reality, there are much nicer places to shop. This specific location seems to be the mecca of grocery stores for grumpy senior citizens. Folks, if your cart is blocking the entire isle… move it. I don’t have the patience to wait for you to pick out which brand of Metamucil you prefer. Also, don’t ask me where things are… I don’t work here and I’m just as lost as you are.
