Atlantic Anchor

On a rainy day reminiscent of my hometown in London I found Atlantic Anchor. I was hesitant… I’ve tried places in Brookyn and Manhattan and I was always disappointed. I am so pleased that my fish and chips were perfect! I have found a spot for when I am craving a taste of home. Can’t wait to introduce Atlantic Anchor to my friends and family.

My fiancé and I decided to grab dinner here one night after passing by it a million times. It is a really cute little place. They stuck through to theme with the whole fish and anchor thing. The service was mediocre at best. The girl at the counter looked upset and wasn’t that helpful. I was looking for some help with the menu, seeing it was our first time there, unfortunately she wasn’t in a helpful mood, so I stuck to the basic «fish and chips»… seemed like a spot on thing to order at such a place. After waiting about 40 minutes with only one other person in there, I was hungry and rather eager to taste this 40 minute fish fry. Got home to a rather big sized box of food. 2 pieces of fresh BUT TASTELESS fried fish filets and what seemed to be fresh cut BUT OIL SOAKED french fries. They were well salted. But soooooo oily. I know… I know… fried food has oil… but this was so oily I had to throw it away. I could’ve probably squeezed out the oil from the fish and fries and fried 3 more orders. It was DISGUSTING. I wouldn’t be back. Save your $ 12!!!

AMAZING! My boyfriend and I decided to give it a try and we were so shocked and amazed that this hidden gem was located so close to us this whole time! The place is clean, prices are reasonable and the food tasted so fresh! The cod was so fresh and delicious and the fries tasted crispy and homemade. They make all their sauces in house and the garlic sauce is a MUST try! The traditional fish & chips costed $ 11. The owner was so wonderful and friendly and kept checking up on us. We would always drive into the city for fish & chips but this is definitely our new spot now!

Updated review… Atlantic anchor has their original curry sauce back… And honestly I think it’s even better. Tried the chicken curry tonight and it was AMAZING! Just like home! So glad it is back to the good stuff. Good job Atlantic anchor… Will now be a regular again

Ordered from here this past Tuesday (salad burger). Ordered the burger well done and it was medium. I’ve ordered the same thing before a few times and have never gotten a burger cooked well done. This time however, there was an added ingredient in the burger… a piece of hair. I don’t freak out too much about how a burger is cooked but a hair in the salad mix on the burger is something I can’t get over. Will never go there again.

Randomly went in one night with my husband when we were in Woodlawn, let me just say, once we move up there we will definitely be regulars!!!
Normally when I get chicken burgers the chicken is dry and I need to smother them with mayo or some type of dressing, but their spicy chicken sandwich was DELICIOUS! Very well cooked and it was so amazingly juicy!
Their curry sauce tastes great! We got a sample and it only made me wish I would’ve ordered the curry chips!
The staff that works there are super friendly as well. All in all great place, great food! Can’t wait to go back and try something new!

Westchesters only chippy as in the only one that uses real spuds .the fish is fresh and good quality .give it a try

We have been going here since they opened last year. On Sunday we ordered fish and chips and they nailed it once again. For $ 11 bucks we got 2 pieces of fish (good size) and a bunch of french fries.
Delivery time was within 30mins.

It’s a 5 star place, The food was excellent, big delicious portions and excellent service. The curry sauce (mentioned in a few reviews was excellent). Our server brought us a sampling of the new curry sauce they may be trying, I have to say they were close in flavor but I prefer the original one. Will return for sure.

The food and the service in this place is amazing. Fish and chips are obviously fantastic. The chicken burger was amazing. Don’t forget to get the cole slaw. Best I’ve ever had (and I’m picky about cole slaw). Everyone is very friendly here as well. The food may not be as fast as McDonald’s, but the quality explains why.

Great place to get a snack! I’m always craving curry chip when The Chipper Truck is not available and this is a great alternative. Small place, and the food takes a little while to come out, but it tastes fresh. Not the best curry sauce I’ve had but still very good. Also a fun assortment of sodas and beverages. Will visit again!

Great food but they never get the order right. Been here twice and many of my side orders weren’t in my bag. Don’t get it… I wont be back. To bad. My best advise check your order before you walk out

Good fish and chips. Friend had the chicken sandwich, and we both left full and happy! Clean, friendly, and good comfort food. Go for the curry sauce with your fries, you won’t be disappointed! (Also: the coleslaw. So good. You know if the coleslaw is good, they’re doing something right!!!)

I’ve never had fish and chips this good. I’m no fish and chips expert, but I do know when something is expertly made and tastes damn good. The batter on here was perfect. not too thick like others I have had– just a nice thin very crispy shell that wasn’t greasy at all. The cod itself was delicious and flaky. A generous portion, along with a huge amount of fries– for only $ 11. I also had a battered sausage which was awesome. This place won’t do any good for my cholesterol but it sure as heck did a lot of good for my taste buds. They have other things on the menu also like burgers and assorted chips (fries for the non-​Irish/​English crowd) with toppings like curry sauce and whatnot. Great stuff.
