Elite came to my rescue and I am extremely grateful for everything they did. My general contractor did a terrible job refinishing my hardwood parque floor — essentially he did not apply the stain or the polyurethane correctly, nor he allowed the kind of poly he chose to dry adequately so my floor was a mess when the project was«done» and the protective paper was lifted up. He tried to patch up by adding more polyurethane and my floor only became more hideous and at that point I knew I needed to look for a floor specalist to take over the job. I looked over Unilocal and Angie’s List and interviewed 4 – 5 companies. Before I finalized my choice, my super suggested me to contact Robert at Elite who my building has been using for the past two decades, including a lot of tenants. I met with Robert who showed up at my apartment promotly, looked at the floor carefully and provided me a quote within a few hours of the meeting. He is very down-to-earth, very knowledgable about the floor and the wood, including the materials my GC used, and the price he quoted was very reasonable(not the cheapest, but defintely not some of the crazy prices I got that were 50% higher). I decided to go with him and keeping my fingers crossed given my experience with my GC. They arranged insurance with my building quickly, his crew showed up on time the day after, within a few hours they already sanded off some of the glue-like polyurthane my GC put on(no kidding, the poly looked almost like ¾-cm thick), and patch tested/sampled the color for me(only then I knew I was right all along about the color — my GC did not sample test the color for me but he applied the stain incorrectly so even though he used the color I asked him to use, the effect was very different from what I saw in the store). I also saw how careful the crew were in handling my floor and everything including my newly painted walls and doors. At that point I was able to relax a bit and left my apartment to their hands. The job was originally scheduled to be 5 days given the challenge with the extremely thick polyurethane that would take a lot more time and care to sand down; but they sent one more person in later and finished the job within 4 days. When I walked in my apartment the very first time after they finished, I was floored. It was so beautiful that I couldn’t believe my eyes. When I talked to Robert later about how there was some wood filler in between the parque that did not take up the stain well(although that totally did not bother me; I was asking just out of curiosity), he immediately sent a guy the next day to come to touch it up and teach me how to take care of the floor. I don’t think Elite needs more endorsements but I can’t help but strongly recommend Robert and his crew(including Daniel, Rich) to everyone who considers to have his/her floor done.

Elite Floor is terrific! Some oven cleaner ate through the stain in our hardwood floor and we called to have them fix it. Robert(the owner, I believe) swung by the next morning, took a look, explained our options(replacing a couple boards, which he didn’t recommend, or just sanding and staining the spot), and offered to do the simpler of the options for free to see if it was good enough. They did the work a couple days later and did a great job. Can’t say enough about them. They were a delight to deal with and did great work. I will definitely use them again when the need arises.

What a great job! Our living room and dining room floors were in dire need of a good re-hab. Elite Floor Service did a great job of taping up all our personal spaces that were not being sanded and refinished, did a beautiful job of sanding, and the water-based semi-gloss finish is breathtaking. They finished in 3 days instead of the 4 they had bid which was great — because it really is difficult to have all your belongings shoved into your bedrooms with you and your kids! I highly recommend this company. They know what they are doing and they do it well!
