Okay, let me start by saying that this isn’t Katz deli in NYC. If you are expecting to be blown away, then don’t. However, if you are looking for an overpriced but really good pastrami on rye with mustard — this is the place to come because it is absolutely delicious. Like I said, it’s not the famous Katz deli but it still is really good. The knishes are also excellent and worth a try. I’ve never had a problem with the customer service here. They are always really nice to me even though people said otherwise.(I don’t know how everyone loves the pickles. I had it twice and they were absolutely disgusting — maybe it was just me.)

I don’t let the cranky, elderly staff get in the way of the best Jewish food around. By far the best pastrami on rye around, delicious knishes, great kasha, excellent matzo balls, and of course there’s the pickle barrel on your table! Mmmmm! Have never had anything less than a great meal here!

Great customer service, had the falafel platter, coleslaw is to die for and pickles are awesome. Our waiter was a young guy he was very attentive with all our food needs I give him 5 stars. We also brought falafel balls home and a kanish with 3 different meats. Ate it today for lunch, It was delicious. We will definitely visit Epsteins again.

I’m giving this simple lil place 4 stars for a well cut pastrami and rye and killer pickles. Slaw was very NY deli, white and tangy. I don’t doubt some of the service complaints although my service was great. It is what is but the food was great.

Good, but the one in Hartsdale is better. They used to be connected but no longer. I would go back however. It certainly beats The New Bens in Scarsdale which I don’t know how they can call it A Deli.

Well… I wanted to try this place out!!! Walked in, and stood at the counter for 10 minutes as a gentleman at the cash register sat and watched as a waitress and another waiter walked past me repeatedly!!! The waitress, as she stared past me outside at something that must have been more interesting, was interrupted by me asking if anyone could make me a sandwich??? Needless to say, I decided I’d rather not pay $ 21 for a sandwich I needed to beg for. On to another deli!

Terrible corned beef when I went. Everything was bland, didn’t taste fresh. Probably the worst Jewish deli food I’ve ever had, very disappointed. Few months later, had a much better experience at the Epstein’s in Hartsdale. Could have been an off day for them, but I’m not taking any chances. Will not return.

Was very good a lot of food. I got the matzo ball soup was very good free pickles. free bread. chocolate egg cream was good. I got the special was a roast beef on garlic bread with onions it was very tender and delicious. Our server was very nice. You can order very cheaply here or pay a arm and a leg pay attention to prices and realize they give free pickles and bread etc.

The worst customer service and the nastiest people on the phone. I called today to place an order for about $ 60 worth of food. Their website clearly says«We Deliver». I called to ask for delivery and the first guy who couldn’t hear made me repeat myself three times before putting another woman on the phone. I asked for delivery and she said«well how many sandwiches did you want». I asked what the delivery minimum was and she immediately put me on hold and began to talk about me to the deaf guy and stated to him that«she won’t tell me what she wants». She got back on the phone and I told her I could hear her talking about me and she said I need to spend $ 100 for delivery and I told her that NOWHERE on any of her paperwork does it state that it is $ 100 delivery minimum, she said«Yeah I know». I told them to forget it and hung up. I have been eating there for over 30 years and I will NEVER give them a penny of my money. I would rather drive into the city than to go down the street to these people ever again. Don’t waste your time and money. Food is decent but I don’t need to be treated badly.

I really like the food — and the free pickles & cole slaw are GREAT. But you have to ask for the pastrami or corned beef LEAN or you’ll get really fatty cuts. The latkes are tasty, but I think they all just come out of a freezer bag & get deep fried. GOFORTHEFRIES. They’re great. One thing — and I know it’s petty — but it bugs me every time I go in. There’s an annoying typo on the COVER of their menu. Why can’t people get the whole ITS vs. IT’S thing? Did no one who designed/conceived/wrote/printed this menu catch the error? And it’s big. Not a reason to stay away from a place, but come on.

I got pastrami on pumpernickel. The pastrami was good, but very fatty. But the really crazy part is the price. $ 13 for a plain pastrami sandwich? That’s just ridiculous. If this sandwich was twice the size of the one I got, it would be understandable, But when I walk into a Kosher deli and they charge $ 13 for a sandwich, that I would’ve paid $ 530 seconds down the street at tanglewood, that’s a real problem. On to the french fries… Don’t order them. Honestly the worst fries I’ve had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. They were somehow hard, and soggy. I’m not sure how they managed to pull that off. Whatever. This place sucks. you live and you learn. Next time I want to pay $ 18 dollars for substandard bullshit, I’ll go see a Michael Bay movie.

Good old school place! From décor to food. It’s what you would expect, like back when my grandfather would take me as a kid to have a egg cream. Service is good and friendly… I wanted a taste of the beef tongue, the waiter was very accommodating and brought me over a few slices so I could try, it was so buttery that I got the sandwich. Good food, good people!

I have eaten lunch many times at both Epstein’s Delis on Central Ave. The food is good but a bit pricey. Service is quick. Waitstaff is very nice. Portions are big. This is classic deli food. I love the cole slaw and pickles that are served before the meal! Both places are clean but the floor is slippery at the one in Yonkers. Not sure why.

Ooo yea this place is terrific as soon as you sit down they give you a dish of pickles. I got a hot dog that had snap to it along with cole slaw and french fries. They leave the skin on the fries and one order is large enough for two people to share. It doesn’t look like much from outside but inside the hot dogs are great.

My partner grew up going to Epstein’s, albeit in a location a few blocks away. For this tour down memory lane, he was pleased to find the food exactly as he remembered. For this kosher-deli novitiate, I found the menu almost overwhelming, with line after line of appealing options. But how could I pass up a little whitefish salad on bagel? Yum. I just can’t believe we didn’t pick up some rugelach before we left. Another time…

Went there for the Very first time on Saturday. I ordered pastrami and rye with cheese and hubby ordered a turkey sandwich my pastrami was absolutely fine sliced thin, soft bread and pickles out of this world. Hubby like his turkey sandwich that much but he said he would try to the turkey pastrami next time. Never knew it was that nice inside. The fries were great!

I grew up eating Epstein’s and have eaten here twice recently. I love Epstein’s, and the trick is to expect a classic deli and not a fancy restaurant. You get free pickles(half sours are the best!), and the sandwiches have a generous amount of meat. Try the soup and half-sandwich lunch deal. You get big portions and a bread basket with bread and bagel chips. Try the square knish – true perfection.

Hubby and I stopped in for some lunch before we hit the Clearview Cinema for our movie. It’s funny, because we never come to this place before and we venture to this particular strip mall quite often. We sat in one of the booths and although I’ve have Jewish fare, I have never before, eaten in a Kosher establishment. I was so happy when our server brought us this big plate of complimentary Dill and Half Sour Pickles! I love pickles and you would think me pregnant, the way I scarfed down all but one pickle. That was a nice surprise. I was in the mood for breakfast food and ordered Scrambled Egg Whites with Parve American Cheese and Pumpernickel Bread. I was a bit worried because I have never had parve cheese but I do know why they don’t serve actual dairy cheese. Hubby opted for the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Our food came and I tasted that cheese. Not a fan. I ended up scraping it off of my eggs and probably broke a rule or two by smearing my included margarine on my toast and making a sandwich out of the eggs and buttered toast. Hubby gave me a few pieces of brisket to help with the bland taste of the eggs but it is what it is and the food was not at all bad. In hindsight, I probably should have just went for a hotdog. Loads of people were coming in just for the dogs and I wish I opted for that instead. Next time. Nevertheless, hubby enjoyed his brisket. I tasted it and it was yummy! It came with french fries and onion rings. I was experiencing food envy. I definitely want to try Epstein’s again. It seems like a neighborhood staple and I have a feeling I just made the wrong menu choices. If I do, you’ll hear about it.

EPSTEIN’S HASDELI-CIOUSKOSHEREATS! Where can you get a hot dog fast, that’s not fast food? Epstein’s Kosher Deli is the place for you! Basically, this place is the goto place whether you’re mildly hungry or very hungry. So what do eat I eat? Mildly hungry: 2 Hot Dogs with Sauerkraut and Mustard with a Root Beer The hot dogs are constantly broiling on the foil lined grill, so you can ask to grab two to go, pay for your order, and be ready to head out of the door by the time he gets them in the bag. With prompt service like that, why would anyone go down to road to Nathan’s? Very Hungry: Triple Decker Sandwiches: Tongue, Pastrami, and Corned Beef on Rye with a Root Beer … maybe a side of their steak fries too. The corned beef and pastrami are served hot, tell them to steam the tongue to be hot as well. Sometimes they slack off and serve the tongue cold because its not as popular with everyone. Try it once, and you’ll be hooked for life! Everything is served with a bottomless plate of half sour and garlic sour pickles. If you order anything more than just the hot dogs they bring you some nice cole slaw too(it’s made old style, so there’s no vinegar in there, probably just a squirt of lemon). Depending on your waiter, they may even bring you cole slaw anyway, because let’s face it they have tons of it! Don’t confuse this location with the one that’s up the road! That one is NO longer affiliated with the Yonkers location. About 40 years ago, the Epstein Brothers owned both locations, but less than 15 years ago they spun off the Hartsdale location just a few miles up the road. Both restaurants have the same name, don’t say I didn’t warn you!
