Unless you have Irish friends(I mean from Ireland), don’t bother wasting your time. Once they hear the American accent you’ll wait forever for a pint. Go to the Heritage or Rambling; much better.

Woodlawn has a slew of genuine(straight off the boat genuine) Irish pubs that for some reason are not yet on Unilocal(I am going to add them myself soon). This is one of them… for some reason, no one has reviewed it besides me? And I had to add the picture. Anyway… I went here on a Sunday just to explore the town, not really looking for a bar or pub. At the time, I had no idea just how Irish Woodlawn is… I walked into this bar(not sure if it’s named after the film«Waking Ned Devine» or not, but that’s pretty cool if it is) and all I saw was about 50 – 75 Irish people with soccer(football in Europe) jerseys on screaming at the televisions and sprawling into the street. Every single one of them had an Irish accent. Even though I am of Irish descent, I felt completely out of place. It was a Sunday… and in most bars in America, Sunday is the day of American Football. So upon first entering I was so surprised that all they had playing was soccer. THEN I realized that… oh, they are all from Ireland. They are all wearing soccer jerseys of the Irish team. Ok. Now I know what’s going on. This place made me smile so much. I am not sure if it was because there was some huge soccer tournament on and everyone was just going wild, but at 1pm on a Sunday… seeing that many drunk Irish people laughing talking and screaming in the street just made my day for some reason. Came back here on a normal night(not soccer day) and had an excellent Guinness and good food. The place was quiet that day and definitely more authentic-feeling than other Irish pubs in Woodlawn like Rambling House, etc. Check it out if you are ever in Woodlawn, NY!
