The Pizza Place

I decided to give this place a try after a disastrous first attempt. Again, I was disappointed.
Wanting to semi-​treat myself to an early dinner, I decided to make my way to The Pizza Place. This place is gorgeous! The high ceilings and intricately painted walls are very welcoming and aesthetically pleasing.
So now about the food… My intentions were to get pizza, but the extensive menu board convinced me to get a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Yum!
I order and wait just for a bit and someone brings my food to me. Yay! Not. The first thing I notice is the amount of dressing on my salad. It was as if whoever prepared my salad decided to soak each piece of the lettuce in a cup full of dressing. Ew. And if that wasn’t enough, I got probably two little soggy chunks of croutons and I had to ask for more!
Whatever, just eat the damn salad.
Fine I will (insert grumpy face here) .
As I navigated through the sea of dressing, I noticed that in fact they DID include croutons but they basically disintegrated into the salad. Double ew. The chicken was bland and refrigerator cold. My salad became a soup in a span of 5 minutes.
Well, at least my Poland spring didn’t disappoint me.

Hello to the neighborhood pizza gem! This place is delicious! We recently moved to the area and we love eating in and ordering take-​out! Our 6yr old son is very picky about his pizza’s and he said this is the best thus far! We try to make it a pizza night once a week and this is so close to our apartment on the waterfront. Décor is fun and the salads are also delicious!

I live around the corner and have been here a few times. The pizza is good but I haven’t cared for much else. I have had the calzone and it is sloppily made and the appetizers are not very good. The buffalo wings were the saddest little wings I have ever seen. I haven’t tried everything, I will keep going for pizza but not anything else.

Best pizza at a great prices and friendly staff. Everything is perfect. Try the chicken parmigiana.

If you ever visit that area of Yonkers, or go to Yonkers Brewing Company, save your appetite for this place, it’s right next door!

Solid pizza right in the center of Yonkers. The Pizza Place is probably the best option for a quick lunch up here, but luckily it’s worth looking forward to. Slices here are just well done NY-​style pizza, and you’d do just fine getting a plain slice here. Some people I work with talk about their grandma slices but I haven’t had them. They also have specialty slices like chicken parm and chicken marsala which, while gimmicky, are actually pretty good.
Seeing as I’ve mostly cut pizza out of my diet (relatively), I also second their salads – especially those with grilled chicken. This is the same good quality chicken they use on their pizzas and they don’t skimp on it in the salads. Some people may read this and say «what’s the big deal»? Well to be honest there isn’t one. But this is a good pizzeria which has other good food as well, and that isn’t nearly as common as it used to be.

I really like their grandmas pizza! Yum. I tried their pasta and I wasn’t sold. All in all love their pizza and Gelato

The Pizza Place is Yonkers best pizza. Their Baked Clams Oreganata is a staple in our home. We order a dozen at least once a week. Don’t forget to ask for the extra sauce perfect for dipping their homemade bread into. I love that they make personal size pizza’s as well, their New York «Original» is THAT AN ORIGINAL slice of NY Pizza!

FINALLY FOUND A REAL CHEESESTEAK NORTH OF SEASIDE!!! Shaved beef (not chunky london broil), AMERICAN cheese, and sauteed onions on a good, long hero (not wedge)!! Good fries too! NO fancy coating, or fake crispyness, just REGULAR FRIES. Fries are soggy when you get them delivered, which is good for me, b/​c I happen to like soggy fries, but those who don’t may want to ask for them well done.

the Best New York Pizza is in Yonkers at The Pizza Place!
I have lived in NYC ever since I came here to go to Grad school back in 1988. I have eaten ever pizza that NYC has to offer. From John’s to all the various Ray’s and bar none, the best pizza is here in Yonkers. The Pizza Place wins on every level… sauce, best crust and amazing variety. And lest I forget… you have to try their Philly Cheese Steak… it’s the best outside Philly.

My wife and I recently moved to Yonkers, which means we had to find new go-​tos. The Pizza Place is now definitely our go-​to for pizza.
The Grandma’s Pizza is hands-​down the best. Perfectly spiced, crust with a nice crunch around the edges, and not too many tomatoes. Our favorite.
Garlic knots are solid, just like you’d find anywhere else. The Italian sub is pretty good if you are looking for lunch but not in the mood for pizza. The calzones aren’t bad, either.
Inside this place has a lot of space and it is very comfortable. The staff has always been nice, too.
Definitely a place worth visiting.

Unilocaler Ben Y. and I were premiering our short film at the Yonkers Film Festival when hunger struck. We left the festival and scoured Yonkers for something to eat. We found The Pizza Place and immediately went in since we’ve heard a bunch of great things about it.
We were greeted by a super friendly chef and amazing décor. We ordered some Grandma’s pizza slices and a pepperoni roll to share. We sat by the window and took in the Yonkers aura and adorable décor of the Pizza Place.
The owner/​chef came over to ask if we were sharing the pizza roll, and we told him we were. Minutes later he delivered our slices and halved pepperoni roll on cool pizza pans. He even gave us two sauces, one for each of us. He went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and enjoy his wonderful, delicious food.
When we paid for our meal, he was so grateful for our business. He thanked us for coming and asked us how we had heard of the place. We told him we’ve heard great things and that we see it from the Metro North when we commute home from NYC, both of which he was thrilled to hear.
What a great place!
