Yonkers Gateway Motel

Guy at the front desk was a complete douche! Don’t even bother! Checking in at 8am and wants to charge for a full nights stay till checkout which is 11am!!! Insisted on CASH only.

HOOKER HAVEN AT THE YONKERS GATEWAY MOTEL?
Back in the 90’s I used to come here when a date was going particularly well and we felt like we could use a nap for say… a couple of hours. Sure, I lived only a couple of miles away and easily made it home, but with hourly rates of $ 25 for an hour and $ 35 for 3 hours (that was for a special night I suppose), why would you want to go home? Besides, I always had a weird feeling that my mother would knock on the door and kill the mood.
I remember bringing one lucky date of mine there on for a second occasion. As the clerk handed me my keys he says to me, «Are you really bringing her here again?» Lucky for me the girl barely spoke any English, so she didn’t catch the comment. But I made a mental note and vowed never to return again. If anything, this place should value discretion considering that that their day and hourly rates make them quite appealing for in-​call escorts and straight up prostitutes. The only time business men would check-​in here was for pleasure and never for business. The business end was left to the hookers and pimps. Let’s just say that this place did not have a conference room or host any conventions.
Back in those days the place was called the Yonkers Motor Inn (YMI), so I suppose they figured that if they changed the name that it would give the place a bit more class. That’s hardly the case, as soon as I showed a buddy of mine the name of it he knew right away that it was the type of place that rented by the hour. The rooms here are filthy with hair and stains all over the bathrooms and carpets, so I wouldn’t prance around barefoot. You might also think twice about sitting on top of that comforter as who knows how many people were cruising on that same bed that day… or week. or even month? I’m sure the motel has made their money’s worth.
They might be better off renaming this place THE ROACH MOTEL. At least this way the guests would know that they can check-​in at all hours, but even the most cursory review clearly shows that nothing about this place checks-​out.
