I stopped on the way back from Gettysburg today and the person at the front tried to charge me $ 2.50 for a pint of milk. When I questioned it, she started arguing about low fat or something and I had to point out that it was priced on a list on the wall as $ 1.75 for a pint. That’s outrageous for a pint of milk, but I was willing to pay it, but shocked that she got irritated that I caught her error. No sorry, no thanks, no nothing – just change and my bag shoved at me. Make sure you check your change people.

We stopped by on our way from Harrisburg and were delighted with the $ 67 worth of fruit and other things we bought there(yellow plums, corn, nectarines, cantaloupe, potatoes, bread, honey, damson plum jam, strawberry-rhubarb jam). The lady at the counter was very helpful explaining about where the food was made and grown. Be careful exiting onto the road. Sort of gravelly parking lot but wheelchair friendly enough.

Pick your own blueberries! We saw the sign from the side of the road, and I’m so glad we stopped. This is a full farm market with a pick-your-own section that was super fun. There were plenty of sweet, fresh berries, plus the market was well-stocked with fresh local fruits and veggies. They also have a large selection of canned items– jellies and jams and local baked goods as well. But my favorite item was the huge woven baskets for shopping– they were $ 1 apiece to take home, and are super useful. Plus, they’d look great filled with flowers on a table. We’ll definitely stop here again.

Buy your fruit at Weiser Orchards! This place is great and it is right on the way to Harrisburg. Great apples and fruit in season, a nice selection of baked goods, and jams and jellies. There is a greenhouse and nursery owned by the same family nearby. Prices are reasonable and you know you are supporting the local economy. The owners have received several agricultural awards. Adams County is the Apple Capital of the world! Watch for the signs when you are heading north!
