Tried DiCarlo’s Pizza last weekend. Nothing special at all, in fact, I’ve had frozen pizza from the supermarket that was better. Don’t know what the big fuss is all about. Please understand I come from the NY/NJ metro area, where amazing pizza is an art form. I’m used to much better. Would I go back? No way.

Great place for pizza. They have square pizza and use provolone, not mozz. They give you the option of having your cheese melted or having the pizza cooked and cheese added after cooking. They have lots of toppings, offer sandwiches and calzones, as well as salads. Great atmosphere and seems very clean. I would visit again. Support your local small business!

Not good at all. I am a little spoiled being from NYC, but the cheese on this pizza was dry and the sauce was flavorless. I couldn’t finish what I ordered. Better look else wear.

First time trying this. They put the shredded cheese on the top after the pizza is cooked. Great service. Expected fresh mushrooms not canned but everything was delicious. Oh and loved the shredded red peppers and oil topping.

Great pizza and friendly staff. I was hungry for pizza and found this place through Unilocal.Glad I stopped. Pizza is crisp and full of flavorful cheese and great tasting sauce. Hard to find that around these parts. Excellent job guys, will be coming back.

First off, 5 stars. Whenever you combine fresh, quality ingredients with a staff of all-stars that’s know exactly how to put them together, it’s impossible to not enjoy a DiCarlo’s experience. The pizza, oh lord the pizza. Once I discovered DiCarlo’s and they’re original styled pizza, I ate there for dinner for a week straight. They have a unique way of topping the already freshly baked crust and sweet homemade pizza sauce with freshly grated cheese. Putting the cheese on after baking already and allowing it to sit for a minute or two results in the best pizza I have ever had. I recommend tomatoes and steak on the pizza.

DiCarlos=Dogs and Cats are Sleeping Together OK this is a tough review because for the uninitiated DiCarlos is originally from Steubenville Ohio I grew up pretty close by and most of my family still lives there. So it’s one those food items from«back home» that some might say I have grown overly nostalgic due to time and place and wonders of youth. But«they» would be wrong. Simply stated, at its best, Steubenville/Ohio Valley Style Pizza ranks among the best pizza in America. Which brings us to York Pennsylvania… of all places. Where for reasons unknown there is DiCarlos pizza. I would speculate that some Ohio Valley/Rust Belt refugee relocated to York. I’m also a rust belt refugee maybe you don’t know this but your local pizza sucks. It’s usually some imitation-of-a-imitation of New York Style pizza with sweet sauce, undercooked crust and too much cheese. If your saying to yourself pizza can’t have too much cheese I don’t like you anymore and you are definitely part of the problem. Im glad I could finally get that off my chest. Let’s move forward amicably. So if your favorite Pizza is dominos or papa johns or cheese inside the crust inside the cheese don’t get this pizza and then complain. Go gum some dominos and watch Fox News. The pizza is «light Sicilian» the cheese is cold but will melt slightly from the heat of the crust/sauce. Just try it don’t ask them to alter it. If you don’t like you don’t like it. So the pizza here is close to the pizza from the mothership but slightly heavier. Other than that pretty spot on. Who are you to resist?

DiCarlo’s Pizza is unique. The cheese is never browned on their pizzas and if you want it melted, you have to request it. The pizzas are rectangular so that may throw you a curve ball. My go to pizza here is the six piece. This is basically a medium sized pizza where the toppings are extra. I get the Za with pepperoni and mushrooms with the cheese melted. The sauce they use is not too sweet or tangy, it is just right and the crust borders on awesome. I struggle with the cheese and find my self heating the pizza again immediately after getting it to totally melt the cheese. This stuff is different but in a pretty good way.

Stopped in again recently, and I can confirm that their calzones are the best that I ever had. The crust is thin, but crispy, the provolone cheese is perfect inside the calzone, and the sauce served on the side is a flavorful accompanyment.(The sauce is really only necessary for the tips of the calzone as they are well packed.) I personally recommend either the pepperoni calzone, or the standard calzone.

It is now our favorite pizza on York… we have to travel 20 – 25 mins. to pick it up, but it is so worth it. When ordering, they will ask you if you want«melted or original». Ask for melted cheese, just because it is want we are used to, it also comes original style which means the provolone cheese, I’m guessing it is put on after the pizza comes out of oven. We haven’t tried anything else on the menu but it all looks great!!!

There is no faster, no fresher, and no better pizza around! I’m fortunate that they are local to me for delivery… But well worth taking a drive for moments or miles if they don’t come to you

Dicarlos has pizza that’s not like many other places. They put the cheese on after the dough and sauce are cooked. It is really good and I would definitely recommend trying it. My wife would probably give it 5 stars and I’d say 3.5. It’s a nice spot in downtown York and is a nice compliment to the growing downtown scene. The pepperoni rolls are also a must try!

Di Carlo’s pizza has amazing square cut slices and Italian sandwiches(that are huge btw). You can get the slices original, where the pizza and toppings are cooked and then cheese added on top after, or you can get it with the cheese melted along with everything else. The Italian sandwiches are enough to split between two. Served with the cheese gooey and piled with Italian meats, it was a treat to bite into the flavorful crust and experience it first hand.

Fun and tasty casual pizza place with a unique taste and look. Love the square cut pizza. Great crust. Delicious pepperoni rolls. Good salad. Fun décor. Love the curbside pickup convenience. So glad you opened in downtown York.

Not your everyday pizza! The pizza crust is crispy, sauce is yummy and fresh. Pizza is MTO, so it comes to the table hot.

Specialty pepperoni was very thin with little flavour, spicy capicola was also tasteless with little flavour. Opted to have my cheese melted and it may have been better cold as it didn’t have the sumptuous gooey yummyness one expects with pizza. Sauce was heavy and frankly overpowering. Would never go back.

The staff are cool dudes. Open kitchen at the bar — fun to watch during the hectic times. The pace is small, but manages to have decent seating for the size. They execute their pizza well, but I’m just not a fan of the style(thick crust, provolone cheese, square). Their non-pizza items are quite good. The pepperoni rolls will not disappoint.
