I know it’s just in the West Manchester Mall, but the customer service could be a little better. The only exception is one of the guys who works there regularly is always consistently polite and quite helpful. The reason I’m giving the one star is because one of the managers on duty was not friendly, and seemed like he couldn’t be bothered to help me or my husband. Frankly, he had a bit of an attitude as if to say we didn’t belong there because there’s no way older people play video games. We were looking to buy a PS3 for ourselves and he informed us that they were sold out, which wasn’t a big deal. I understand that happens. However, when my husband asked if there was any way to put our name down on a list to call when more came in or if he could call the other Game Stop closest to us, the manager rudely told him, «No, we can’t do that.» and followed that up with how it’s a first come first serve, and you can’t pre-order them. When my husband politely informed him that he didn’t want to pre-order it, just that he wondered if he could take his name down and call him if any came in, the manager looked at him and said, «Oh. Well yeah, we’re pretty busy, but no, I don’t think so.» in this tone of he couldn’t be bothered, we were wasting his time, and he didn’t really want to help us. The only reason they got any money from us that day was because I was picking up a game that I had pre-ordered, but I was pretty irritated. They weren’t that busy and the guy’s lackadaisical attitude about helping us added to it along with the elitist attitude he was sporting. Guess what? Older people do play video games and if he didn’t want to help us, he could have just told us that, because at least that would have been honest. Instead, he wasted our time. We bought the PS3 elsewhere and the customer service there was quite helpful and much better than what we got at Gamestop.
