We love York Harbor Inn. And the Cellar! We love the food. I miss the fried calamari with sliced jalapeños. We love the lobster pizza. Everything is great. And everyone is always friendly!

Excellent service by our waitress Rhiannon. Good food and a friendly atmosphere. Try the Broiled Scallops!

We ordered a house salad, seafood chowder, French onion soup, pepperoni flatbread and a glass of simple life Pinot noir. We also finished it off with a slice of wild blueberry pie and a scoop of ice cream. All was very good.

If you’re going for the chowder, it’s your go-to place! The burger was okay, the flatbread was fairly good. Nice atmosphere, unspectacular for the price. Nice little spot, though.

Wonderful food. Very nice staff. Great selection of drinks. Had a group of eight people and they were pretty quick with the food and drinks. I will most likely be going back when I’m back in town visiting the family.

I stopped here for lunch as I do when I am in the area. What the heck happened to this place? It was night and day from my last visit. When I entered the pub it was reminiscent of a scene from a movie where the locals turn around in their seats and give you the once over for invading ther territory. Sat for about 15 minutes while bartender/waitress socialized with the regulars, waiting for a menu. I was the only diner. Long story short service was far less than optimal. The food did not deserve to be on my plate… it was cold, and all the ingredients deserved to be in the bin, old shriveled and rather disgusting. I didn’t eat a thing. The waitress bartender didn’t even inquire why nothing was touched on my plate when she finally came by with the check!!! Not once how was your food was everything ok. Would you like dessert you have room since you didn’t touch your entrée lol!!! Nothing. I wrote the management and never heard back. Don’t waste your time or money at this place until the retrain or fire the staff. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area with better views and much better food and warm and welcoming staff. Apparently no one cares from the top down, it shows in their lack of response to a customers complaints. I love a good restaurant, pub or food truck. I will drive out of the way for good food good service. Dining out is one of life’s pleasues, no matter what type of eating destination, not so much at this place.

I’ve never been disappointed here. It’s a favorite of my husband and I. A must-do for dinner or just drinks. Quiet atmosphere and relaxing.

The food in both pub and dining room is so overrated and overpriced it is a crying shame. The Inn’s kitchen has virtually no competition in the immediate neighborhood hence its lazy cooking — if you can call it that– and crazy prices. Great location. Nice atmo. But food, frankly, sucks. The management should take a cue from other establishments in Portland and Portsmouth. Fresh and imaginative win! This place suffers from tourist syndrome. Volume volume volume… everyone goes here cuz no where else to go, and the kitchen as a result thinks so highly of itself — but it doesn’t bother to work hard or think creatively. Truly a sad waste of dining dollars!

Went for drinks. Our waitress made it known that she was unhappy because my friend was taking her time trying to decide what she wanted. She ignored us till I finally had to shout«hey», as she ignored all my hand waving. She gave us our check, never asked if we wanted another drink. I will never go back there or recommend to others.

Excellent seafood. Gluten-free options — great gluten-free lobster pizza. Lobster role was large and full of quality lobster, but it was also highly-priced — a third more than other rolls we saw advertised in York. The pub was a little sparse on drafts. Beautiful teak-finished ship-like ambiance complete with porthole windows and gently curving ceilings. We ate at the one table«in a cabin».

Plainly one of my favorite places to eat. Consistently good food. The crab cakes and artichoke dip are my favorites and have to get them every time. The pub is always clean and you couldn’t ask for a better location. We highly recommend the Down Easter Flatbread.

Worth a visit for anyone to experience the awesome ‘sphere that is Ship Cellar’s pub below the main restaurant. Great place to grab a drink, quick bite on the way up Route 1. although it is worth noting there is nothing special about the seafood. Haddock was over soaked in butter. Option to add scallops to the salad proved disappointing with three small scallops thrown on top. Eaten here four times over the past year hoping each visit is better than the last. Conclusion: I keep going back for the New England charm, not the cuisine.

The pub for the York Harbor Inn is located in a cellar of the York Harbor Inn hotel and has the style of an old sailing ships cabin. It is long and thin and has a good atmosphere… if a little chilly on a winters day. We had an early supper of cranberry and nut salad with added steak tips, fish chowder and another salad with added scallops. The beer was good and the staff friendly and prices seemed reasonable with a happy hour and a small but tasty selection of free food offered during the hour.
