Great small town brewery. Beers are always solid, customer service is great and they have an awesome logo :). It’s tucked away a bit, so look for a large«open» flag out front. We have really enjoyed a lot of their beers from apostrophe to pumpkin whoopie pie! They sell bombers, half growlers and full growlers. They also have small tastes and full pints. The tap list changes often so be sure to check them out!

I love finding great craft beer places that are enthusiastic about what they do and in turn, put out great product. SoMe(SouthMaine) is one of those places. A little tough to find since they are around back from the main street but certainly worth making an effort to get here. Our host was very enthusiastic and was happy to tell us and the other couple in there about the brews. She was quite a talker but infectious! We got to sample a couple of the 8 beers on tap before we went to our selections for our tasting flight. Of course we had to sample the Whoopie Pie Stout. Infused with cocoa and vanilla it made an interesting start to our tasting although we opted not to include it in our flight. Not sure I could drink a whole pint of that. We loved the Apostrophe IPA. I could drink a few of those. The Dent Head was a nice Hefeweizen and a great summer beer for sure. With 8 beers on tap, I’m sure you could find something you like here. And they sell steamed hot dogs if you’re hungry. Extra points for the baskets of free chips and pretzels. You could spend some serious time here!

let me preface this by saying I only bother doing a review on Unilocal if I REALLY love a place or really hate it so it 5 stars or 1… Had been meaning to stop by this hidden away gem for a long time but never got around to it. My wife and I visited on Saturday and so glad we did. We couldn’t make it to Portland for the beer fest, but this was the next best thing. 7 beers on tap and the 5 we sampled all were really impressive especially the vanilla whoopee pie stout. They also had an excellent IPA the name escapes me. Cute place with some outside seats as well. They also sell some bar snacks soft pretzels(when pigs fly) and hot dogs and have free popcorn. It’s hard to find and is located behind a credit union on Rt 1. Look for the«OPEN» flag in front of the signs.

WOW! Talk about hidden gems. I had been told about this spot by a brewery tour guide in Portsmouth and finally found this place. Can’t say anything negative about it. Great staff and an awesome selection of brews. Really like the Mainely Pale, great IPA. Snacks are minimal but awesome… soft pretzels from nearby When Pigs Fly are absolutely the best. If you’re looking for a great craft brewery with awesome beer, this is definitely the place to stop at, despite the tricky location.

This was such an unexpected delight for me. We went on a brewery taproom tour of Portsmouth/kittery and somehow said«oh, York is only 10 mins away, let’s go!» and ended up here. It was a little hard to find– I turned around twice before we finally figured out where it was(in the back of a building). So many great beers here. We loved the Whoopie pie stout and we loved the Box the Compass and Apostrophe IPA. We tried a flight of all of the beers and they were all really solid. We brought home over a case of beer and got a free glass from one of the brewers when he saw how much we were buying. Awesome! They had popcorn and pretzels in the taproom too, and the pretzels were warm and yummy. We’ll be back and have recommended this place to quite a few people since.

I originally found this place in August with my girlfriend. We were going to Ogunquit for the day and I decided to look up breweries in the area on Unilocal. We checked it out on our way home. We both instantly fell in love with the beer. SoMe Brewing Co. is hands down my favorite small brewery. In the last three weeks we have gone up once a week specifically for the beer here and then pizza over at York 54(which is pretty much right next door). Every beer here is beyond amazing and every time I go here I am more and more impressed with the quality of the beers. The whoopie pie stout is hands down the best stout I’ve ever drank. The also had a cinnamon toast beer, I was very reserved at the idea(luckily they do flights here too so I will always do that when they have a couple new flavors of beer since my last visit, but luckily they have been the same the last three times I went up so I knew exactly what I wanted) however it may have been one of the most interesting and best beers I have ever experienced. The hefeweizen beer is also fantastic. Lastly, I’m not a fan of pale ales or IPA’s but my god their’s are amazing. If you love beer, and are in the York area you’re doing a disservice to yourself if you don’t stop here. This should be on every beer lovers radar.

One of the best breweries that I’ve been to! The two gentlemen that were working were warm and very inviting and know their beer! All of the beers that we tried were fantastic! Even though I don’t normally order IPA’s I enjoy them if they’re fresh and straight from the tap. My favorites were the Whoopie Pie Stout and the Denthead Hefenweizen. We took home a bottle of the Whoopie Pie and will be back soon with a cooler so that we can take home some growlers!

Great local brewery in York ME run by a father and son. Located right along Rt 1, just down the street from Stonewall Kitchen. It’s behind a bank, so can be tricky to find but they’ve got both a sign and a flag out front to help out. Service was friendly, and everyone was more than willing to tell you about the beers, the process, and how they got to where they are. They’ve currently(July 2014) got 6 beers on tap, and a couple bottled offerings. You can do a tasting flight, or a pint, as well as 32&64 oz growlers. We tried a flight, all the beers were very solid. My favorites were Crystal Persuasion an Imperial Pale Ale(took a 32oz growler of this home) and Whoopie Pie a milk stout with chocolate & vanilla(would love to try this one on nitro!). The room itself is quaint and beach appropriate without the usual beach cheesiness. They’ve got photographs from local artists on the wall, which is a nice touch. Looking forward to visiting whenever I’m up in York and watching these guys grow.

This was a delicious impulse stop in our way down route 1. A small taproom that severs flights, tasters, growlers, and growlettes, I’m very glad we gave in to the impulse. The flight of five beers spanned from strong and hoppy to light and fruity to dark and filling. We ended up going home with a growlette(half growler) of Crystal Persuasion. Delicious, but we finished it too quickly… a full growler next time!

This is such a great example of what a small brewery that makes beer better than most of the bigger breweries out there. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place is the next Sam Adams.

Great new craft brewery in York, Maine! Excellent beer! Great, relaxing place. Owners very nice. We were there when a beer tour company came in, they still had time for us. Gave a great tour. Will be back for sure. Lots of new beer on deck. Can’t wait to try them!

SoMe amazing local beer. There is a tasting room where you can try a flight or get a big taster then you can buy and fill growlers of your favorites to take with you. It’s a spot you don’t want to miss in York.
