We loved this house! My daughter booked this trip for our getaway weekend to Yosemite!(see her review)! I can only ditto all her sentiments but will add that having rental property myself, I can be pretty picky about staying in other rental properties. Logger’s Retreat lived up to my hightest expectations and I was very impressed by all the ammenities so thoughtfully provided by the owners of this property and all their descriptions of how things worked throughout the house. They made it very easy to rent their retreat and feel right at home! We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the outside seating area they have set up on the hillside below the house. Plus, the many decks would be a great spot to soak up the incredible views and loved the option of the deck off the kitchen for an outdoor barbecue. Thanks for the great weekend and the incredible scenery right out our front windows!

My folks planned a trip down to California to escape Washington’s winter weather and the #1 thing they wanted to do was see Yosemite. Well, of course they timed it so that their visit coincided with Yosemite’s first snow storm, but as we were staying at the oh-so-comfortable Logger’s Retreat so we couldn’t have been any happier. This is our new favorite Yosemite lodging option. When you first enter the home you are blown away by the dramatic mountain views. It truly feels like you’re staying in a most luxurious tree house. You can see for miles and miles across a valley, but not another house is to be seen. Totally picturesque and remote. I just loved waking up in the master bedroom. We didn’t even use the blinds; having the sun peak over the mountains and greet you was just too good to give up. It snowed most of the time we were there(January), but that just made it all the more atmospheric. We played board games — there are tons already there to choose from, went hot-tubbing, drank wine and sat by the fire. The weather didn’t keep us housebound though. The Logger’s Retreat is only a few minutes from Yosemite’s south entrance and we went to the park two days for some blustery hiking. I can’t wait to come back to the Logger’s Retreat in the spring time and get some good waterfall hiking in. Truly a lovely weekend getaway home. You will not be disappointed! Tip: If there is a weather warning, a 4×4 vehicle and chains is a must. The driveway is super steep, but that’s why the view is so amazing. We rented a monster SUV and it was totally worth it.
