Aww. This is my temple. I have had no other temples before thee.(Unless you count Children of Israel, and really… it’s all the same building, so I don’t feel the least bit guilty.) I’m not going to rave nor be evil about the Temple. Most of my family in my generation had their b’nai mitzvot and confirmations here. There’s a lot of history that makes this synagogue very dear to my heart. I subconsciously judge all other temples against this one(which is unfair — but I don’t care.) The rabbis have come and gone from this location most likely because of the quality of life and the shrinking Jewish community. Back in the 1980s, Rabbi Meyer was the man. There were other rabbis in other temples — but Reb Meyer was by far THE rabbi. After he died, Rabbi Steinheart stuck around, followed by Rabbi Baron and now Rabbi Schonberger is the man in charge. Each man has/had his own style of teaching and mentoring the community. Not that there’s anything anyone could do to change my mind that Reb Meyer was *THEGREATESTRABBI, EVER* but each man has done his best, I believe, to serve his community as best as he knew and knows how.
